Savannah Guthrie: Hurricane Sandy Sent 'Seemingly From Above' to Help Obama Get Re-elected

November 4th, 2012 11:42 AM

Today Show host Savannah Guthrie made a statement about Hurricane Sandy on NBC's Meet the Press Sunday that is sure to raise a lot of eyebrows on both sides of the aisle.

"Here was a moment handed to [Obama] seemingly from above where he could look like that strong, independent, steady in a storm, very appealing to the middle of the road voters, and I might add to unmarried women voters who are going to be very key in this election" (video follows with transcript and commentary):

DAVID GREGORY, HOST: Savannah, you also have the fact that there’s a lot of people as the mayor’s talking about who are still without gas, electricity. There’s growing frustration. That has potential impact as well.

SAVANNAH GUTHRIE, TODAY SHOW HOST: Yeah, then it can change on a dime if people start feeling that the federal response isn’t what it should be. But look, when you have a race this tight, things like a hurricane, this can move the needle when you’re talking about a race so close. And I think it was an important moment for the President because in the last three or four weeks of the campaign, I don’t think he had been going out of his way to appeal to Independents whatsoever. This was a campaign built to turn out the base of the Party, and here was a moment handed to him seemingly from above where he could look like that strong, independent, steady in a storm, very appealing to the middle of the road voters, and I might add to unmarried women voters who are going to be very key in this election.

So God decided to kill innocent people and destroy lives and property in some of the most populated states in this nation to help Obama get re-elected.

Wow!
