Sununu Smacks Down Juan Williams: 'Don't Let Your Blind Loyalty to This President Make You Sound Foolish'

As NewsBusters previously reported, former New Hampshire Governor John Sununu on Tuesday laughed in Andrea Mitchell's face when she defended Barack Obama's use of bogus outsourcing reports about Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

Continuing this trend of calling out Obama shills in the media, Sununu on Fox News's Hannity Thursday told Juan Williams, "Don't let your blind loyalty to this President make you sound foolish" (video follows with transcript and commentary):

SEAN HANNITY: And as we inch closer and closer to Election Day, it is very important to remember that President Obama is not the only opponent that Mitt Romney is facing out there on the campaign trail. Because team Obama has another very powerful force in their corner. That of course being the mainstream Obama-mania media.

Now, during a recent interview with former Governor New Hampshire Governor John Sununu, who is in fact a Romney supporter, a left-wing anchor attempted to rattle off some Obama talking points. And unfortunately for her, Governor Sununu was there to set the record straight.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

JOHN SUNUNU (R), FORMER NEW HAMPSHIRE GOVERNOR: Mitt Romney outsourced zero. Obama outsourced 29.

ANDREA MITCHELL, NBC NEWS CHIEF FOREIGN AFFAIRS CORRESPONDENT: Zero?

SUNUNU: Zero. He wasn't there when those issues came up.

MITCHELL: Well, first of all, the $29 billion are not all outsourced from the administration because...

SUNUNU: Sure they are.

MITCHELL: A lot of those jobs still remained here. There are jobs, when you do a grant, Governor, there are jobs here as well as overseas.

SUNUNU: (LAUGHING). You're struggling, Andrea. You're struggling.

MITCHELL: Well, first of all.

SUNUNU: (LAUGHING)

MITCHELL: .these are competing claims and we will get back to you with all of the numbers.

SUNUNU: Sure.

HANNITY: Call me crazy, but I am willing to bet that the Governor's still waiting for those job numbers or those numbers.

Joining me now, what a sure to be a lively debate, the man you just heard from, Romney -- (LAUGHTER) -- even Juan Williams is laughing.

JUAN WILLIAMS, FOX NEWS POLITICAL ANALYST: Well, I love the Governor. I know him well. I bet he's amused by this,

HANNITY: Well, you guys used to host "Crossfire" together.

WILLIAMS: We did many years ago.

HANNITY: All right. Governor Sununu -- by the way, did she ever get back to you with those numbers?

SUNUNU: No. But, you know, the interesting thing was that she was trying to tell me that because a little money stays in the U.S. and a lot of money goes overseas, it doesn't mean it's outsourcing. I think the -- her tongue got in front of her eye teeth and she couldn't say what she's saying.

HANNITY: Ouch.

Ouch indeed. Moments later, it was Williams' turn to face Sununu's wrath:

JUAN WILLIAMS: But governor, look, all of that is character assassination and you know, Joe Biden --

SUNUNU: But it's all true --

WILLIAMS: But the fact is -- hang on. Just the fact is that what the Boston Globe reported today was that there was the signature of Mitt Romney on security sec documents that said that he was running Bain after he claims he had left Bain and was not involved in any decisions that led to the loss of jobs overseas.

SUNUNU: Juan.

WILLIAMS: That is not legal.

SUNUNU: Juan, don't let your blind loyalty to this president make you sound foolish.

Double ouch.

Of course, the blind loyalty virtually all the media have to this president has made them all look foolish. Could this be one of the reasons the public's confidence in TV news is the lowest on record?

Maybe we need Sununu to go on every channel to justifiably smack down each and every Obama-loving media sycophant.
