Bill Maher Jokes About Mitt Romney Paying a Bum for Gay Sex

February 23rd, 2012 4:39 PM

Vulgarian comedian Bill Maher on Thursday made a joke about Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney paying a bum for gay sex.

This occurred inside a prominently featured article at the Huffington Post about Wednesday's debate in Arizona (vulgarity warning):

And isn't a highlight of every debate when Mitt Romney takes umbrage at being accused of the best thing he ever did in his life -- Romneycare? Something he should be proud of? Last night he took out his dueling glove and declared that when he was governor, he made sure there was NO requirement from the church to provide morning after pills for rape victims. They will be punished with a baby, as Jesus would want. Mitt's attitude is always, "How dare you accuse me of helping people or being compassionate! Why, I'll have you know I'm every bit as much of a cold hearted bastard as any of these other pricks up here with me!"

"But Mitt, we have a picture of you giving money to a homeless person."

"I did NOT give a bum money! I was paying him to blow me!"

Hysterical.

Adding insult to injury, at press time this was the "featured blog post" at HuffPo's front page as well as getting additional promotion in the articles section to the right:

Complicating matters further, a little less than a year ago, conservative publisher Andrew Breitbart was banished from the Post's front page for what a spokesman called a "false ad hominem attack on Van Jones in The Daily Caller."

This supposedly violated the "tenets of debate and civil discourse" the Post strives for.

Days later I reached out to much of the top brass at the Post - including Arianna Huffington herself - to find out if this rule would now apply to Maher:

Ms. Huffington and Mr. Sekoff:

Noel Sheppard here from NewsBusters. I'm wondering if Bill Maher calling former Alaska governor Sarah Palin a "twat" and a "cunt" violates the Huffington Post's "tenets of debate and civil discourse" that Mario Ruiz noted in his statement concerning Andrew Breitbart's banning from your front page.

One would think such vulgar slurs are far worse than anything Breitbart said to the Daily Caller concerning Van Jones.

Is Maher going to be banned from your front page? When are you planning on notifying your readers of this decision, and if not, why not?

Not surprisingly, I never heard anything back. However, until recently, Maher hadn't been seen at the Post.

Now he's prominently featured on the front page making jokes about a presidential candidate paying a bum for gay sex.

Imagine that. A liberal publication with a double standard.

Somebody pinch me.

With this in mind, your support has become more important than ever. With a critical election approaching, the liberal media needs to be monitored 24/7. As we have been predicting for months, the press are willing to do anything to get their beloved politicians elected and/or reelected. As such, we need your help to fight this fight.
