Cartoonist Calling For 'Draw Mohammed Day' Switches to 'Draw Al Gore Day'

The Seattle cartoonist that created "Everybody Draw Mohammed Day" has changed her request to "Everybody Draw Al Gore Day."

As readers are likely aware, Molly Norris last week published a cartoon calling for a nationwide protest over Comedy Central's decision to censor its two-part episode involving the prophet Mohammed:

Do your part to both water down the pool of targets and, oh yeah, defend a little something our country is famous for (but maybe not for long? Comedy Central cooperated with terrorists and pulled the episode) the first amendment. 

On Thursday, Norris posted a video at her website explaining why she created the first cartoon, and directed her followers to instead take up a splinter campaign started by a group called "I Hate The Media!", namely "Everybody Draw Al Gore Day" (video follows with copies of both cartoons, h/t WaPo's Comic Riffs):

Let's call off "Everybody Draw Mohammed Day" 
by changing it to "Everybody Draw Al Gore Day" instead.
Enough Mohammed drawings have already been made to get the point across.
At this juncture, such drawings are only hurtful to more liberal and moderate 
Muslims who have not done anything to endanger our first amendment rights 

Do something positive with that energy, like...Draw Al Gore! 

What's the difference between global warming guru Al Gore and the Prophet Mohammed? One was a crazed, religious fanatic and the other founded Islam.

So since Seattle artist Molly Norris killed "Everybody Draw Mohammed Day" when she realized that Muslim fanatics mean business, IHateTheMedia.com has decided to continue the spirit of the idea by announcing

"EVERYBODY DRAW AL GORE DAY!"

Of course, with the recent revelation concerning the modest, $9 million home the Gores just purchased in Montecito, California, maybe the contest should be, "Everybody Draw Al Gore Sipping a Mai Tai Overlooking the Pacific Ocean in One of the Most Exclusive Neighborhoods in the Country While Wife Tipper Counts the Millions They're Making Off Spreading the Global Warming Myth!"
