ABC Takes Victory Lap After Smeared BP Agents Are Put on Desk Duty

September 22nd, 2021 11:46 PM

Border Patrol was already stretched dangerously thin but on Wednesday, ABC’s World News Tonight celebrated their job getting harder as multiple mounted agents were ordered to “administrative duties” after the rabid left and liberal media smeared them with lies about using “whips” on Haitian migrants.

As NewsBusters had documented all week, ABC anchor David Muir and correspondent Kenneth Moton were committed to parroting the ignorant White House talking point about how the images were “horrific.”

“This scene along the southern border tonight. Texas Governor Greg Abbott using state-owned vehicles to create what he's calling a ‘steel barrier,’ with the migrant crisis on the border. And there is news tonight involving some of those Border Patrol agents seen on horseback, confronting migrants,” Muir announced in his opening tease.

Adding, when he finally got around to the segment: “And tonight, there is news on some Border Patrol agents seen in those images the White House called ‘horrific.’

Moton put off talking about the punitive action against the agents he helped to smear until the end of his report. But he began the segment by huffing about Abbott ordering State Troopers to the border in a show of force to deter would-be illegal immigrants from crossing.

“Tonight, this so-called ‘steel barrier’ of vehicles, Texas State Troopers lining the Del Rio, Texas, border, as federal authorities try to stop the migrant surge,” he whined.

Eventually, he boasted: “And tonight, amid outrage, DHS saying the mounted Border Patrol agents seen aggressively trying to stop migrants from entering Texas have now been placed on administrative duties and will have no contact with migrants pending the outcome of that ongoing investigation.”

In an update for the coverage of the CBS Evening News (which also peddled the false claims), during their Wednesday newscast, they finally dropped the story and replaced it illegals getting violent as they were being deported. “Tempers flared in Port-au-Prince as some of the deported migrants tried to rush back into the plane,” reported Manuel Bojorquez, omitting how they assaulted ICE agents and the pilots.

And on NBC Nightly News, correspondent Morgan Chesky (the only network reporter there that wasn’t pushing the false whipping claims) reported that authorities were looking to set up a facility in Guantanamo Bay.

“And tonight we’ve seen government records suggesting with a few of these migrants may go. The administration seeking a private contractor to operate a detention facility at Guantanamo Bay. With specific rules guards need to speak Spanish or Haitian Creole,” he said.

This was also noted by Bojorquez. But ABC has continued to ignore the violent illegals and the apparent plan to ship some to Gitmo.

ABC’s gloating about making Border Patrol’s job even harder was made possible because of lucrative sponsorships from Advil and Vicks. Their contact information is linked so you can tell them about the biased news they fund.
