MRC's Graham On MSNBC Pulling Olbermann, Matthews As Campaign Anchors

"The idea to make these guys [Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews] news anchors, I don't know who came up with this idea. It's sort of like people who believe if you add water you get sea monkeys. It just doesn't make any sense that you can add water and make an objective news anchor," NewsBusters Senior Editor Tim Graham quipped on the September 9 "Fox & Friends" program. Graham questioned in particular the notion that Olbermann once told President Bush "to shut the hell up" on his "Countdown" program.

Co-host Brian Kilmeade asked the MRC's Director of Media Analysis if MSNBC's decision to remove Olbermann and Matthews as co-anchors of election coverage was too little too late:

KILMEADE: But, Tim, is the damage done already? I mean, look, we're almost done with this thing. [There are] 57 days left [until the election].

GRAHAM: Not only is the damage already done, the damage continues. Not only are they keeping these people on for an hour a night, they're adding this lesbian Air America radio host Rachel Maddow on every night. So I mean they're really entrenching and solidifying a left-wing agenda on this network, not just, you know, pulling something back.
