CNN Uses Sparkling, 'Twilight' Effect On Hillary Clinton

CNN's New Day apparently can't get enough of "enhancing" footage of a triumphant Hillary Clinton at her Tuesday victory rally, as the newscast on Thursday gave the video of the Democratic presidential candidate a sparkle/shimmer effect, while darkening the cheering crowd in the background. This modified video excerpt aired a day after the program gave Mrs. Clinton a "golden god" glow using the same clip. [video below]

The program featured this Twilight-vampire-type enhancement of the former New York senator during correspondent Athena Jones's report on the planned White House meeting between President Obama and Clinton opponent Bernie Sanders on Thursday. CNN aired the segment three times just after the top of each hour of the morning show. An on-screen graphic asked a slanted question: "What Will It Take For Sanders To Bow Out?":

ATHENA JONES: This morning, President Obama meeting with Bernie Sanders—

PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA (from interview on NBC's The Tonight Show): My hope is, is that over the next couple of weeks, we're able to pull things together.

JONES: Increasing pressure on the Vermont senator to end his primary fight, now that Hillary Clinton is the Democratic Party's presumptive nominee.

The effect, like the transformation of Mrs. Clinton into a glowing figure on Wednesday's New Day, is noticeable when compared to the original video from Tuesday [video below]:

Just as on Wednesday, it was WMAL's Chris Plante who noticed the video modification. Plante, a past presenter at the Media Research Center's annual Dishonors Awards, led his talk radio show on Thursday with what he called a Led Zeppelin "Stairway to Heaven" effect.
