Mika: Ben Carson 'Doesn't Sound Completely Connected With Everything'

Did Mika Brzezinski just suggest that Ben Carson has a screw loose? On today's Morning JoeMika Brzezinski said of Carson "I want to be very careful with my words, but he just doesn't sound completely connected with everything."

Judging from her halting cadence,  Mika clearly seemed to realize that she was treading on some very controversial mental-health ground. The lead-in to her "connected" comment was her observation "he tried to kill his mother for God's sake!  . . . we have been listening to this man talk in a flat monotone tone about taking a hammer to his mother's head."

Note: Mika has been dubious about Carson for some time.  Yesterday she said "he's slippery. He doesn't tell the truth, and he doesn't make sense." But Brzezinski took things to another level today when she came very close to suggesting that Carson is—in technical psychiatric terms—off his rocker.

MIKA BRZEZINSKI: A text just came in from someone. And I understand the point of view from which I'm speaking. And I'm trying to take that into consideration--obviously the viewer is as well. But he tried to kill his mother for God sake! Are we missing something here? I don't understand sometimes when you almost seem to be defending the indefensible. I mean, we have been listening to this man talk in a flat monotone tone about taking a hammer to his mother's head. And I understand it was part of this process of finding his faith, but can we, can we are we to be a little disturbed by even the way he describes these situations? It sounds, I don't want to, I want to be very careful with my words but he just doesn't sound completely connected with everything.
