Matthews' Shameless Smear: Rush Wants to End Integration of Schools and Military

August 10th, 2011 8:02 PM

It's going to be a long, hot campaign . . . Yesterday, Politico reported that the Obama strategy is to "destroy" or "kill" his perceived chief 2012 rival, Mitt Romney.  The Obamaoids are no doubt counting on close collaboration with their friends in the MSM.

Today we were treated to the kind of shameless smear that the left surely has in store.  On his MSNBC show this evening, Chris Matthews flatly stated that Rush Limbaugh . . . wants to end the integration of the public schools and armed forces. View video after the jump.

Watch Matthews make his vile allegation.  The Hardball host seized on Rush's suggestion that, based on the failure of the Dems in the Wisconsin recall elections, it should be possible to roll back the Dem agenda of the last 65 years.  Matthews perversely claimed that since President Harry Truman's integration of the armed forces, and the decision in Brown v. Board of Education occurred within that time frame, Rush must favor repealing such integration.  Along the way, Matthews managed to include a junior-high worthy insult of Rush's supposed speech pattern.

CHRIS MATTHEWS: The walrus under water--which is what he sounds like when he broadcasts--whuh, whuh, whuh, whuh, whuh--that guy is so over the top in this, it gives us a teaching moment. Let's listen to Rushbo today, and what he said about what it meant last night.

RUSH LIMBAUGH: The people of Wisconsin have fended off what amounted to a government-union takeover. If the taxpayers of Wisconsin can win against those odds, we should be able to do the same thing in every state, and in Washington, DC. We ought to be able to roll back ObamaCare.  In fact, we ought to be able to roll back everything Obama has given us over the last two-and-a-half years. We should be able to roll back the whole Democrat agenda for the last 65 years. Yes we can!

MATTHEWS [turning to his two liberal guests]: Here's Rushbo with his agenda.  Gentlemen, I want John to tick these off where you agree with Rushbo, the same with Josh. He wants to get rid of the integration we did under Harry Truman in the United States Armed Forces.  That was what Truman did in '46.  That was 65 years ago.  He wants to get rid of the Brown case, of course integrating our schools, at least the public schools.
