Barbara Walters wanted "The View" audience to understand that she normally disagrees with Bill O'Reilly. But when it came to his views on child-rearing, Walters had to admit that she largely agreed with the Factor host. And that depressed her.

O'Reilly, the father of two young children, appeared on today's View to promote his new book on child-rearing and related issues, Kids Are Americans Too.

BARBARA WALTERS: Well, Bill O'Reilly has a new book, it's called Kids Are Americans Too . . . We always enjoy having Bill with us. We don't always agree but we're always happy to have him on the program.

And a bit later . . .

WALTERS: Listen, I read this book. And what bothers me, cause I very often don't agree with you, I think I agree with almost everything you said, and I find that very depressing. What is happening to me?

BILL O'REILLY [jocularly]: This is a total act. This woman hangs on my every word, Barbara Walters. She's in, she agrees, but you know, she's in that New York society thing. You know what that is, Joy [Behar].

JOY BEHAR: I don't know anything about it.

WALTERS: Pluh-eese!
