Left's Exception to Tax Hikes on Rich: Hollywood

July 27th, 2012 6:57 AM

And when I say "The Left," that of course includes Hollywood, which is overwhelmingly left-wing, overwhelmingly in support of Barack Obama, overwhelmingly supports tax increases for the rich, and constantly casts big business as the villain.

But naturally, when it comes to big bad wealthy types and big bad businesses getting tax breaks, the left, including Hollywood, only oppose that for everyone but…Hollywood!

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today signed legislation that will strengthen existing incentives offered by the state to attract additional film post-production activity to New York.

Since the state began offering tax credits to support the film and television industry in 2004, producers have spent more than $7 billion in New York. The new law signed today is designed to expand state support by specifically focusing on attracting post-production work to communities in all corners of the state.

This is nothing more than Democrats paying off their wealthy contributors by engaging in the destructive art of choosing winners and losers.

And nary a peep from the media, in case you haven't noticed.

Imagine if this was Republican politicians paying off Walmart.

Democrats will claim these tax cuts create jobs. Well, no shit. Republicans have been making and proving that case for over thirty years now. The problem with Democrats and the corrupt media is that they only believe tax cuts for "the wealthy" "trickle down" to create Hollywood jobs.
