Mika Brzezinski: Liberal Reporters Should Be 'Brave Enough to Reveal their Political Affiliations'

According to MSNBC "Morning Joe" host Joe Scarborough, the traditionally left-of-center co-host and daughter of Zbigniew Brzezinski, Mika Brzezinski has had an awakening about the political leanings of the mainstream media.

Mika Brzezinski appeared with Scarborough at the Borders bookstore in Falls Church, Va. on June 16 to help him promote his book, "The Last Best Hope: Restoring Conservatism and America's Promise." Scarborough revealed his sidekick's eye-opening experiences about the media.

"I'm begging Mika to write a book," Scarborough said. "Seriously - about what she's seen because she's seen it through my eyes for the past two years now. I'm definitely serous here. It's been stunning to Mika who's been in the media for 20 years. She will tell you how biased it is."

Brzezinski told the crowd she would write the book about her revelations and had some strong words for journalists with left-of-center leanings that claim objectivity.

"I will just say that I will write the book," Brzezinski said. "And, it is run predominantly by liberals and my opinion is that all reporters at this point ought to be brave enough to reveal their political affiliations. If they're so good at being objective, they can be truthful about where they come from."

Scarborough suggested that Republicans not obsess over the liberal bias and approach it from a Reagan-esque manner.

"The way Republicans respond to it is the way Ronald Reagan responds to it," Scarborough added. "It may be frustrating, it may make them angry. But, they have to keep a smile on their face. They can't run around saying the media's biased all the time. I know that makes conservatives outraged, but let other people debate that debate."
