Jorge Ramos Reports from New Hampshire by Trolling Trump Supporters Outside Polling Sites

February 10th, 2016 5:02 AM

While touting the usage of cell phones in 21st century journalism on the Tuesday edition Fusion’s America, host and liberal Univision anchor Jorge Ramos played clips of his cell phone video reports from New Hampshire that included numerous encounters trolling Trump supporters who were merely standing outside polling places to support the billionaire.

In the first of two conversations shown, a independent, unidentified male was holding a Trump sign and told Ramos initially that he took the day off from work “to help campaign with everyone” and provided “heaters and coffee for everyone and we don’t really — we gave something to everyone that was here because we’re not haters” and “[w]e respect the process.”

Ramos then showed his true colors in never wasting an chance to promote his liberal activism by shooting back at this seemingly average campaign volunteer: “Interesting that you say we’re not haters because some people might think that Mexicans, Muslims, women might not be welcome.”

The man replied that he disagreed and flipped the script by suggesting to Ramos that he has been “disappointed with your station for quite some time because I could never SAP your station in English” until only recently.

The man suggested that it was “not right” and Ramos pushed back that it wasn’t racism because “[w]e simply broadcast in Spanish” and English-speaking Americans can now see him reporting in English for Fusion.

After holding court with Bernie Sanders supporters nearby, Ramos came upon some college-aged males waiting in line to vote and once he determined they were Trump supporters, he wondered: “Is there any specific idea that you think well, that’s exactly what I want?”

One of the males responded that he embraced Trump’s vague proposal of building a border wall that Mexico would pay for, Ramos set another trap: “You’re talking a wall between the United States and Canada?”

The young man replied that it’s about Mexico and Ramos shot back with the fallacy that those in favor of a border with Mexico would be content with an open border between the U.S. and Canada. Naturally, these students fell into Ramos’s game and stated that the country’s northern border should be open while the southern one is not.

JORGE RAMOS: So you’re not a registered Republican?

UNIDENTIFIED MALE TRUMP SUPPORTER OUTSIDE POLLING PLACE [WITH SIGN]: Nope. I’m a registered independent. I have been my whole life. [SCREEN WIPE] I took the day out today to help campaign with everyone. We brought heaters and coffee for everyone and we don’t really — we gave something to everyone that was here because we’re not haters. We respect the process.

RAMOS: Interesting that you say we’re not haters because some people might think that Mexicans, Muslims, women might not be welcome.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE TRUMP SUPPORTER OUTSIDE POLLING PLACE [WITH SIGN]: Oh disagree. [SCREEN WIPE] I was disappointed with your station for quite some time because I could never SAP your station in English. It’s only been in the last —

RAMOS: Now you can do it, right?

UNIDENTIFIED MALE TRUMP SUPPORTER OUTSIDE POLLING PLACE [WITH SIGN]: Yeah, but it’s only been in the last couple years.

RAMOS: Exactly.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE TRUMP SUPPORTER OUTSIDE POLLING PLACE [WITH SIGN]: That’s not really — that’s not right. [SCREEN WIPE] But is that racism?

RAMOS: No it’s not racism. We simply broadcast in Spanish. That’s all. But now, I’m also working for Fusion, so you can watch whatever we do in both English and Spanish.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE TRUMP SUPPORTER OUTSIDE POLLING PLACE [WITH SIGN]: It’s about time. Thank God.

(....)

RAMOS: Could we see your – the – what is — [SCREEN WIPE] So, have you made up your mind about voting for Donald Trump?

UNIDENTIFIED YOUNG MALE TRUMP SUPPORTER #1: Yeah

RAMOS: Is there any specific idea that you think well, that’s exactly what I want.

UNIDENTIFIED YOUNG MALE TRUMP SUPPORTER #1: The wall.

[SCREEN WIPE]

RAMOS: You’re talking a wall between the United States and Canada?

UNIDENTIFIED YOUNG MALE TRUMP SUPPORTER #1: Mexico

RAMOS: Oh Mexico because the border is up here? [SCREEN WIPE] So with Canada, we can have an open border?

UNIDENTIFIED YOUNG MALE TRUMP SUPPORTER #2: Definitely.

RAMOS: But with Mexico we cannot?

UNIDENTIFIED YOUNG MALE TRUMP SUPPORTER #2: Nope.
