"The Vatican canonized two new saints last week. And President Obama was disappointed to learn he wasn't one of them."

A new YouTube channel, Digitas Daily, has an amusing little montage about MSNBC's non-stop talk about racism. It's a clever one-minute look at how the Lean Forward network has been Johnny One-Note. So we thought we'd give you a look at it below the page break.
As an added bonus, we also embedded another video Digitas Daily did a few weeks back, headlined, "He Reports. They Recite," about the media dutifully reciting the Obama administration's 7.1-million ObamaCare signups stat. Leave us your comments on this and whatever else is on your mind in the comments section below for this the Friday, May 2 Open Thread.
MRC president Brent Bozell appeared on “The Kelly File” with substitute host Martha MacCallum to discuss new e-mails about Benghazi and Fox News coverage of Benghazi.
The e-mails are between State Department PR operative Victoria Nuland and friendly Associated Press reporter Matt Lee, discussing the alleged “BS” on Fox during “The O’Reilly Factor” on September 13, 2012, two days after the consulate attacks. Bozell thought the Obama publicist and the AP reporter sounded way too much like each other. (Video, transcript below)
"L.A. Clippers owner Donald Sterling is under fire for making racist comments in the past. And NOT under fire for racist comments they’ve made in the past? Al Sharpton, Joe Biden, and Harry Reid."

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton recently slammed the U.S. news media as obsessed with celebrity and more driven by entertainment than hard news.
Of course she's right, Media Research Center president Brent Bozell noted on the April 24 edition of Fox News's Your World with Neil Cavuto, but added that it's even worse than that. The liberal media are actively censoring legitimate, hard news stories, many of which would likely harm Mrs. Clinton's presidential prospects in 2016 were they seriously pursued on national television (watch video below page break):
Sean Hannity interviewed MRC president Brent Bozell on his Fox News show on Wednesday night. The topic? MRC research on the revolving door between the “objective” media and the Obama administration, which now has a list of 30 people.
“This is out of control,” said Bozell. “We've been looking at this since 1987. And that revolving door is always there. It's always predominantly liberal Democrats going into politics or going from politics into journalism. But in the last several years it's on steroids.” Start with the 1 pm and 2 pm hosts on MSNBC (video, transcript below):
So it appears that the supposedly open-minded liberals at Yale University don't think that advocating for the rights of the most defenseless and innocent among us, the unborn, qualifies as a mission which accords to the quest for "social justice."
As Kat Timpf of Campus Reform reported on Monday, the Ivy League school's Social Justice Network has denied an application for membership from Choose Life at Yale (CLAY), a student pro-life advocacy group. We've included an excerpt below the page break (emphasis ours). Leave us your thoughts on this or anything else on your mind for this today's open-thread post:
"Photos from a magazine article about White House spokesman Jay Carney show he has Soviet propaganda posters in his house. Which proves that Carney takes his work home with him."

Today attorneys for the pro-life group Susan B. Anthony List will appear before the Supreme Court regarding a challenge to an Ohio law which they charge chills free speech. This legal saga began when an embittered former Rep. Steve Driehaus (D-Ohio) initiated a false advertising complaint against the organization for ads the List ran critical of Dreihaus, a pro-life Democrat, for his support of ObamaCare.
In Saturday's Wall Street Journal, Susan B. Anthony List attorneys Michael Carvin and Yaakov Roth explained the constitutional and practical case for why "Courts Should Stay Out of Political Fact-Checking." Fox News host Megyn Kelly invited MRC president Brent Bozell to the airwaves to discuss a new MRC study on how about nine of every ten Easter references on network news are secular references to eggs, bunnies, candy, and not Jesus Christ.
As Kelly aptly summarized it, "Instead of talking about Jesus or faith, almost 90 percent of the network's newscast reports on Easter focus on fashion, food and to quote one host, 'drinkie-poos.'” (Video below)
If government regulation was literally made of red tape, adhesive manufacturers would be making a killing in the Obama economy.
Yesterday the Wall Street Journal editorial board noted how the president is a "Regulator Without Peer," citing analysis by Wayne Crews of the Competitive Enterprise Institute, who has a forthcoming annual review of federal regs, "Ten Thousand Commandments" slated to be unveiled on April 29 [click here for the 2013 study]. "Al Sharpton is now denying he was an FBI informant, saying it's a dubious assertion. You know, just like Sharpton’s dubious assertion that he's a reverend."

Reason.tv and libertarian comedian Remy have teamed up for another great parody video out in time for Tax Day. Remy reworked the Pharrell Williams hit, "Happy," to detail all the "Crappy" ways big government blithely wastes our hard-earned dollars.
On Friday night’s The Kelly File on the Fox News Channel, host Megyn Kelly took up the shoe-throwing incident with Hillary Clinton. “That was former secretary of state Hillary Clinton, dodging a shoe that was hurled at her during a keynote speech on Thursday. But this is not, of course, the first time that a political figure sadly has been targeted with flying footwear.”
She then showed the two shoes thrown at President Bush in Iraq, and brought on MRC president Brent Bozell to explain the disparity in media coverage. “And our next guest says the media's reaction to these two incidents could not be more different.” (Video below)
Join in the weekend chatter about the decline and fall of Kathleen Sebelius (or "Supercilious," as Mark Levin calls her). CNSNews.com reports that even in resigning, the Architect of Glitches "experienced a glitch of her own when the last page of her speech went missing." Obamacare......still gaining acceptance.
Also: Did Hillary actually "dodge" the shoe, and what was the real cause of the protester's ardor? Sound off below.
"Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz just signed a $1.5-million deal to write a book. Hold on… This just in: Even though the Cruz book has yet to be written, the New York Times just gave it a bad review."

Did anyone have a favorite political April Fool's prank yesterday? Yesterday's debut of MRC Latino kept us from making April Fool's Day fake-quote mischief on Tuesday, but our blogger Tom Johnson has always written some funny stuff when we've done fake "Notable Quotables."
This fake tweet is pretty funny, for example: "@LukeRussert Ppl say I'm only on TV b/c of my dad but geez next to Ronan Farrow I'm Johnny F'ing Carson."
On Monday March 31, Brent Bozell, President of the Media Research Center, appeared on Fox News’ “The Kelly File” to reveal the launch of the MRC’s newest project, “MRC Latino.”
Bozell proclaimed that “I don't think conservatives have focused on the fact that with the Latino population surging, so too is the attention on Hispanic-Latino media. And when we looked at it over a four-month period, what we found was just non-stop promotion of ObamaCare and of immigration.” [See video below.]
NewsBusters executive editor Tim Graham appeared on the Fox Business show Varney & Co. on Monday afternoon discuss how MRC research of evening news stories found next to nothing on the victims of Obamacare. (There was just one CBS story on a Saturday in February.)
Host Stuart Varney expressed amazement that the networks haven’t reported the many problems with Obamacare (video below):
FNC host Megyn Kelly wrapped up a Monday night Kelly File interview with MRC President Brent Bozell by paying tribute to Noel Sheppard, Associate Editor of NewsBusters, who passed away Friday at age 54.
“I was a personal fan of his, I read him a lot, I really respected him,” Kelly conveyed. Bozell declared Sheppard was “just a whale of a human being.”
