Open Thread: Obama Mixes Politics and Religion
Today's starter topic: President Obama mixed religion and politics heavily at a National Prayer Breakfast today, something the liberal media is continually saying is a bad idea. Since they're not likely to repeat this story, it's today's open thread topic:
Speaking at the traditionally nonpartisan National Prayer Breakfast, President Obama on Thursday cited his Christian faith in offering a vigorous defense of his political agenda of tax increases for the wealthy, universal health care and greater regulation of Wall Street.
“We can’t leave our values at the door,” Mr. Obama said. “This is especially important right now, when we’re facing some big challenges as a nation.”
Mr. Obama also seemingly took a subtle swipe at Republican presidential front-runner Mitt Romney for his remark Wednesday that he’s “not concerned about the very poor” because they have a safety net provided by the government.
The president told the audience that he is motivated by “the Biblical call to care for the least of these — for the poor, for those at the margins of our society, to answer the responsibility we’re given in Proverbs to ‘speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute.’”
He talked of the importance of “living by the principle that we are our brother’s keeper, caring for the poor and those in need.”
Aren't liberals supposed to be against imposing religious values on society at large? Apparently not if they're liberal values.

Holder actually had the unmitigated gall to WHINE that no one congratulated him for all of the GOOD work that the Justice Department does...blah, blah, blah. He's creepier and whinier than Obama is, if that's possible.
And the word "obsequious" doesn't begin to cover the Democrat

I read an article a couple of days ago about a Houston man getting 8 years for selling guns to the Zetas. Wonder how many more years he would have gotten if one of those guns were traced to the death of a Border Agent?
He can whine all he wants, but he should be begging the Terry family's forgiveness at a sentencing hearing.

I knew this would happen. The Commiecrats were going to back him no matter what and derail any real investigation. Maybe if the 25 million suit against the ATF by the Brian Terry family goes forward we'll get to the bottom of all this.
I feel sorry for Rep Issa. He needs to go ahead and find Holder in contempt of Congress. Watch the MSM tomorrow. If they report at all it will be how Holder was treated and how Bush started all of this.
I'll be listening to Cam and Company tonight to get the full skinny. He will probably have a hosts of guest like Matthew Boyle of the Daily Caller and one of Issa's Republican committee members on.

That is the Islam statement of faith. Saying this to a Muslem is declaring one's faith as Islam. Renouncing Islam (or changing faiths) after having made this proclamation makes one an apostate. We already know how Islam treats apostates.
Now, the question comes: Does he consider saying this to a reporter, even though televised where millions of Muslems will hear it, the same as saying it to a Muslem?
This is from my years studying Islamic culture professionally.
Oh, and anyone who says that whiny call to prayer is beautiful is either a liar or a true believer. But that part is just my opinion.

How can someone who goes to Church only on Christmas of election years, know what Jesus would do? He calls himself a Christian. Does he worship the Lord on a regular basis? The Bible does NOT say that "we are our brother's keeper!" Cain had just murdered Abel when God asked him where he was (knowing full well what Cain had done) and Cain gave God the snarky retort, "Am I my brother's keeper?" It's the equivalent of today's "It's not my turn to watch him!" Also, the word used for "keeper" refers to one who looks after livestock.
It infuriates me when Obama keeps using this line because it's so out of Biblical context. And even if we WERE supposedly our brother's "keeper", the charge would be for each of us as an individual and according to our conscience, NOT through a government that takes tax money against our will. Where is the charity in that?

That's what is at the heart of "Social Justice".
Forcing citizens to contribute to all manner of social programs against their will is the antithesis of individual choice and responsibility which is the heart of Christianity.
He was for allowing abortion centers to let the baby die if it happened to survive the abortion process. It happens sometimes in late-term abortions and the baby is definitely viable. This is murder pure and simple. Where is THAT in the Chrisitan values that he doesn't want to leave at the door???!!!

I watched this travesty from beginning to end. I was waiting for the current occupant of the White House to say, "Be still, and know that I am God." I was not aware that there is something called, "Self congratulatory prayer." I did this, I did that, let me tell you what I'm going to do. It was a pure POLITICAL stump speech, well laden with the usual class warfare rhetoric. Shameful. We were also shown a heavy dose of what I call, "The Mussolini look." Of course, the state run media will praise this appearance as right up there with the Lord's Prayer........and credit this person with writing most of the New Testament! Also, the constant referencing, "My Christian faith," leads me to believe that, "Thou doth protesteth too much."

I watched while he said "Love your neighbor as you love yourself" (Matt. 19:19 + 6 others) to support his belief that the state should provide all. He then referred to the "second great Commandment" as the "Golden Rule". That was all I could take.
