Open Thread: Netanyahu and Obama

By NB Staff | May 24, 2011 | 09:45

A  A

After an address to AIPAC supporters yesterday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will address a joint session of Congress today to discuss the importance of continued support to Israel in attempts to create peace between Israel and Palestine. His speech at AIPAC yesterday may be something of a preview of his address to Congress today. Check out the video below the break.

Obama received criticism from even his most loyal supporters for last week's remark that "the borders of Israel and Palestine should be based on the 1967 lines with mutually agreed swaps," including Senator Reid's statement that "negotiations will not happen – and their terms will not be set – through speeches, or in the streets, or in the media."

With Netanyahu, the majority of Congress, and even Obama loyalists like Harry Reid and Steny Hoyer speaking out against him, do you think Obama will be able to regain his footing with his large base of Jewish supporters?

Sadly - Yes, Obama will recover most of the Jewish vote

Submitted by Grumpy in Arizona on Tue, 05/24/2011 - 10:11am.

I don’t see the fact that Obama hates Israel (or most of our traditional/cultural allies) as having any effect on the love-affair between Jewish liberals and the Democratic Party.

What's to regain?

Submitted by Newsbubba on Tue, 05/24/2011 - 10:55am.

"...do you think Obama will be able to regain his footing with his large base of Jewish supporters?"

The best I can tell, He hasn't LOST "his large base of Jewish supporters."  I'm having a very hard time believing that the American Jewish community even gives a happy shiite about the fate of Israel anymore.

Netanyahu is a hero for having the guts to stand up to our Fascist president.  Too bad history never teaches us anything until it's too late.

Irish they hadn't said those things.

Submitted by Newsbubba on Tue, 05/24/2011 - 11:09am.

After reading all the crap in the MSM about Ireland embracing their "native son" I had to chuck my dinner.

Will Bambi have English roots today?  Will he have German or Italian roots?  I mean this guy has more roots than a potato patch.  One thing I'm willing to bet is that he will never have Jewish roots!

The Irish really need to revaluate drinking during the day if this is the type of thing that makes them proud to be Irish.

Newsbubba, I posted this

Submitted by motherbelt on Tue, 05/24/2011 - 11:23am.

Newsbubba, I posted this yesterday, from a Brit:

O'Bama? Oh, puh-lease!

O’Bama is the most Irish US president that ever set foot on the Emerald Oisle, so he is, so he is.

Except, when he’s in Africa, of course, when he disappears into the dry ice and re-emerges with a grass skirt and a bone through his nose and declares himself to be Mandingo, Prince of the Bloodline of the Bonga People, Drinker of Cattle Urine, Father of A Thousand Warrior Sons, Keeper of King Solomon’s Mines, Barehanded Slayer of Lions, Undaunted Victim of the Evil Colonial British Empire.

And in the Middle East, where he is Al-Barak Hussein Obama, Protector of the Holy Shrine, Smiter of the Kuffar, Lion of the Desert, Tent-Loving-Aficionado-of-the-Oversweetened-Coffee, Chomper of Sheeps’ Eyeballs, Restorer of the Caliphate.

Etc.

So, who knows what he'll be today?

I saw that last night, MB,

Submitted by killa37 on Tue, 05/24/2011 - 11:43am.

I saw that last night, MB, and it's good. I could have puked too, listening to Boy O'Barry flap his purple (not green) lips about 'being home' and having Irish 'roots' and the rest of that malarky!!!
He'll never claim ANY 'white' roots unless it is politically convienient.

And, yeah, he comes over here and becomes a Hawaiian, and he's been quoted as saying he's from Kenya, and he went back to Java and spoke some (crappy) Indonesian, and, of course, he's got big roots in the Mooooooooooooooslem countries.............and now he's Irish!!! Of course, you never hear the guy bragging about how he's an AMERICAN!!!!

Oh, yeah..........I was watching some of his snarky remarks over there in Eire, and I'm sticking to my long-held theory that this guy is basically a twerpy little snot-nosed lippy PUNK who happened to hit the jackpot!!! His position and his status have STILL not gained him one ounce of class, style, elegance, or credence...........he's still the same little prick that he was back when he was a useless nobody...........although I'm sure that he was as self-absorbed and narcississic then as he is now.

Thank you, idiot voters and the MSM and the men behind the curtain, for giving us this embarrassingly idiotic piece of shiite.

What is wrong with these people?  Raising their baby without a hint of its gender, furthermore, allowing their other toddlers to pick out their own clothes and whatnot from the age of 18 months!

This is child abuse.  They are doing this children such harm by having no limits.  Future basket cases.

Submitted by Newsbubba on Tue, 05/24/2011 - 12:47pm.

This is what is called the Pan-gender era.  You don't know or care WHAT gender someone is.  Can't we just all get along?

This poor child will definitely grow up to be a member of PLUGBUTT (PLGBT).

It will be as confused as someone who is born Kenyan-Irish-Indonesian-Caucasian-African American-Arab-Hawaiian-Muslim-Catholic-Black liberation-Baptist-Atheist-notJew-Fascist!

And that whole idea behind "un-schooling" is sure to instill the sense of discipline that will land those kids firmly in the Entitlement Class.

And what do we think of MO's latest sartorial attempt at splendor?

Looks like she's trying to match the Queen's furniture to me.

Clue for Michelle....wearing those belts up under your boobs doesn't make your butt look any smaller.  Oh yeah, those shoes are too small, your feet are hanging over the sides.  Not a pretty sight.

The talk between Prince William and Barry

Submitted by jon_torlin on Tue, 05/24/2011 - 12:01pm.

You gotta wonder that Boy Barry, who's not fit to talk with Kings and Princes, (unless they are Muslim) must have brought up not being invited to the wedding.

Based on what I've heard about William, he's been brought up well though I wouldn't credit Prince Charles for that.  Princess Diana, certainly.  And his wife looks like a real class act, gracious to a fault and MO is about as faulty as they come.

That picture where the manchild was looking down his nose at the queen who was trying to hold on to her hat.  He's sneering.

If there was anyone that didn't belong in those pictures, the Os are them.  Ugh, they make me sick.  Makes me even sicker that they've taken up a lot of rooms at the Palace.  Did the Queen have a choice in that?

If they wanted that much security, send them to a military bunker or a bank vault.

While as an American that isn't beholden to British Royalty, at least I know how to be polite and not make unreasonable demands on them.  You're in their country, you're their guests.

Hell, taking them to the church that William and Kate got married in was a bit gauche.  Actually, not a bit, but a lot, especially since they weren't invited in the first place.  I got the impression that the royals were thinking "let's get this over with" from some of pictures.  edit: I saw DuhOne was laying a wreath for an unknown soldier at the Westminster Abbey, so it makes sense that he was there anyway.  My bad.  But apparently he signed the guest book with the date "May 24, 2008"???

And how about presence?  Pictures are worth 1000 words, Prince William and Duchess Kate have far more presence than DuhOne and DuhUdderOne ever will have and they weren't even trying.

MO has the worst fashion sense...

Submitted by PrairieSky on Tue, 05/24/2011 - 3:12pm.

of any first lady in my memory...She insists on wearing those short cardigans and shrugs with the 3/4 sleeves...They are not flattering on her and she wears them all the time. Lord I wish someone would tell her to stop wearing them. And she'd do herself a really big favor if she would grow her hair longer, too. The short bob that she has just calls attention to her very prominent jawline and underbite, and it isn't attractive on her.

Just my two cents...

Something Boy Blunder only wishes for these days when he gives speeches.

Bibi just smacked Obama down for the second time, in the People's House. As well he should. Everything Obama tried to push has now been shoved to the side. 1967 Borders, Right to Return, negotiation with Hamas. Bibi broomed them, as well he should.

Your "Tear Down This Wall" comparison is brilliant, too.

True story,

True story, Prarie.............all we get from 'our leader' (hell, do you remember those bumper stickers when Bush was President - 'he's not MY president???) is a tedious, torturous, incessant drivel of hot air, delivered with an arrogantly cocked head, full nostril view, head bobbing back and forth, finger waving.......................and nothing coming out of the big phony mouth except endless crap. Hell, I've heard farts that made more sense than anything Boy Barry spews..............

O'Bama isn't qualified to shine Netenyahu's shoes. And if that is a 'racist' statement - so what??
Anybody want to try and make me take it back???
