February 10 'Media Mash': Bozell Reacts to AOL Buyout of Huffington Post
"AOL giving control to Arianna Huffington. How the mighty have fallen!" NewsBusters publisher Brent Bozell quipped on the February 10 edition of FNC's "Hannity."
"Ten years ago, AOL had 30 million members, they were joining forces with the Time-Warner colossus," the Media Research Center founder noted. Now "they're down to 4 million members and they're at Motel 6 getting into bed with Arianna."
"It's a mess of an organization and they're going to make an even greater mess of it with Arianna. I promise you that," Bozell told Hannity during the program's "Media Mash" segment.

Earlier in the segment, Hannity and Bozell discussed the media questioning former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld about if he feels remorse for not placing more troops inside Iraq earlier on in the conflict.
"The same reporters did nothing but bash George Bush over the surge" Bozell reminded Hannity.
"It's a fair question, they're just not the ones to be asking it," the MRC president concluded.

I just WISH more people were exposed to honest, objective points like shown here!

So what media has covered the duplicity of the media asking Rummy these questions when these very same media were absolutely against doing the very thing they are chastising him for. Yeah I think that is a relevant fact regarding the perspective of the story. That is valuable information which would better shape one's perspective of what they are currently egging him with.

Correct me if I am wrong but didn't Huffington lambast "corporate money" in regards to one company buying another? If my memory is correct that would reveal that Huffington holds to double-standards (no big shock there) and is a hypocrite (again, no big shock).

The delicious irony - a concept lost on libtards - is that the Huffington slaves who posted their columns faithfully every week are getting nothing out of this. A great lesson in capitalism, kids.

I wouldn't have used the "climbing into bed with Arianna" analogy because that is just going to polarize people and play into the Dems' favorite issue of sexism. Also yeah, major crazy eyes going. But besides that, loved the segment and try to never miss the mash.

Two problems with this
Submitted by Reflect on Fri, 02/11/2011 - 3:46pm.
Two problems with this video:
1. The recent praise of Obama in the media discussed here has come only after he has explicitly taken a more moderate/centrist tone in response to the election and struck compromises with the Republicans. Isn't this evidence of a centrist media bias instead of liberal? They seem to be rewarding him after he's extended tax cuts for the rich and given a state of the union speech where he didn't even say the word "environment".
2. Any criticism of Rumsfeld must be seen in a longer context, particularly including the run up to the Iraq invasion. How does Newsbusters explain how & why the media was so complicit in the run up to the war? Wouldn't a liberal media have advocated an anti-war position instead? This clearly did not happen.

Your memory must be short. After the '08 election Obama was telling Republicans to shut up we won and the media were howling at the moon in their unbridled happiness. Now they could come out of the closet and be the partisan hacks they always wanted to be. Now as usual the Democrats misread the public's mind and paid the price in the '10 elections. With their's and left wing pols stunning display of arrogance, pomposity and entitlement. I am sure Obama's handlers have told him to tone down his Anti-American, muslim loving, and yes commie loving self. So once again chameleon like is reshaping and adapting his image and the media slavish praise on how Reaganesque he is while actually bashing the real Reagan and his legacy. He is still a poseur, an amateur and still dangerous. He will do whatever it takes to remain in power. The media is still biased in the extreme and will do everything they can to become chamelon's like their fearless leader and portray themselves as centrist/moderates but they are not.

Had we went in with "more troops" in the first place, a "surge" would not have been as effective. The "surge" was more PR than anything else, imho. Now, what came along with it, ROE upgrades, had a huge impact.
The same is true in Afghanistan with Obama's own "surge". No PR value is to be had because it was basically done all hush hush and the ROE were further restricted and downgraded - which has seen more soliders killed on Obama's watch than all the Bush years combined.
It isn't the number of soldiers in theater that matters so much - it is whether or not their hands are tied behind their backs and their chambers empty that makes the difference.
Just think how different things would be today had the media been pointing their fingers at the root cause of this conflict - the Muslim terrorists - all along. I am a firm believer that this conflict will continue until the world stands firm together, the free world at least, all standing shoulder to shoulder in the face of the political correctness we have witnessed. With the Leaders of the UK and France coming out publicly as they have in recent days, I am thinking this stand is coming closer to fruition.

What other root cause of the conflict has the media been pointing to other than terrorism? I've never heard anyone in the mainstream media dispute the fact that the root cause of the Afghan war was 911, all Americans have been told that and understand that.

I interrupt this serious discussion with a bit of Friday afternoon frivolity. Find below a link to an exchange between Congressman Hank Johnson (aka the congressman most in need of a drug test) and a Navy admiral regarding the stationing of troops on the island of Guam (warning, place all drinks in a secure location while viewing):http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zNZczIgVXjg lol
And a take off on Congressman Hank Johnson's remarks (gives new meaning to the term dimocrat) : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ITx4aFhASTE&feature=related . lol
OK, back to the regularly scheduled programming . . . .
