Hannity, Bozell Pummel Lesley Stahl, Chris Matthews for Media Bias in October 22 'Media Mash'

By NB Staff | October 25, 2010 | 12:37

A  A

MSNBC's Chris Matthews and CBS's Lesley Stahl were two of the targets in the latest "Media Mash" segment on Fox News Channel's "Hannity" program.

NewsBusters publisher Brent Bozell appeared on the October 22 edition of the program  to look at how the media have been denigrating the Tea Party movement.

[Video of the segment available after the page break]

"He [Obama] saves the guy's life – this is our economy...but the guy [the American voter] wakes up and he's got scars all over his face, and that's all he sees, that's all anybody sees," Stahl argued by way of analogy on the October 18 "Morning Joe" on MSNBC.

Bozell's reaction:

Barack Obama, victim. [Lesley Stahl] says that he saved the economy. The reality is just hurting right now because the reality tells you something different. He said it was all about jobs and about doing something about the awful Bush record. Well, since George Bush left office, he's lost 4 million jobs. The unemployment [rate] has gone from 7.7 to 9.6 [percent]. He's added $3 trillion to the national debt. That's more debt than Ronald Reagan and every other president going back to George Washington combined. He hasn't saved the economy, the reality is, he's ruined it.

Earlier in the segment, the Media Research Center president slammed MSNBC's Chris Matthews for saying that the rescued Chilean miners would have killed each other if they had a Tea Party mentality about their survival.

To the contrary, Bozell argued:

Chris Matthews just proved he knows nothing about the Tea Party movement. The Tea Party movement believes in two things... individual responsibility, individual freedom. If you want to ascribe political definitions to the miners... they had to take care of themselves, they had to be responsible for themselves... they are the ultimate Tea Partiers who were down there.

It just goes to show how irrelevant that network is that they had to take great stories and try to turn them around to attack the Tea Party. That's desperation too.

Post Turtle

Submitted by jdhawk on Mon, 10/25/2010 - 1:15pm.

While suturing a cut on the hand of a 75 year old rancher,  who's hand was caught in the gate while working cattle, the doctor struck up a conversation with the old  man.   Eventually  the topic got around to Obama and his role as our  president.

The old rancher said, "Well, ya know, Obama is a Post Turtle."

Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked him, what a post turtle was.

The old rancher said, "When you're driving down  a
country road and you come across a fence post with  a turtle balanced on top, that's a post turtle."

The old rancher saw the puzzled look on the doctor's  face so he continued to explain. '

"You know he didn't get up there by himself, he doesn't belong up there, he doesn't know what to do while he's up there, he's elevated beyond his ability to function,  and you just wonder what kind of dumb ass put him up there to begin with."

Why has no one ever done a documentary...

dealing with the effects of liberalism on American Culture? There are plenty of radical left wing documentaries which attempt to belittle ProLifers, Evangelicals, the Catholic Church, Conservatives, and Capitalism ad nauseum.

Yet, I am unaware of a single documentary exposing liberalism and its anti-Americanism including the MSM.

But at least they TRIED!!!

That's what matters!

If failed because they didn't do enough!!!

$30 trillion wasn't enough, but that's all they could manage, what with Republicans wanting people to starve to death, living in their cars.

Galvanic.....Speaking of Blacks, the WSJ's Jason Riley,

Submitted by Rush Fan on Mon, 10/25/2010 - 4:01pm.

a black man, has an excellent opinion article in the Journal titled The NAACP's Unhealthy Tea Party Obsession. Here is a sample:

The nation's unemployment rate is 9.6%, but it is 16.1% for blacks and an unconscionable 41% for black teens. Politicians continue to promote minimum-wage hikes that harm the job prospects of younger and less-skilled individuals, a disproportionate number of whom are black. Wal-Mart's attempts to open a store that would bring jobs and low-price goods to a depressed neighborhood in Brooklyn, N.Y., have been thwarted repeatedly by labor unions. And the NAACP is issuing studies on the tea party movement?

David L. Kirp, a professor at the University of California, Berkeley, has an article in National Affairs titled: The Widest Achievement Gap regarding why African-American boys and young men lag behind their fellow students. Kirp writes:

The gap between their performance and that of their peers is perceptible from the first day of kindergarten, and only widens thereafter. In the 2008 National Assessment of Educational Progress — the massive, federally mandated report card on student performance, measured in grades 4, 8, and 12 — the reading scores of African-American boys in eighth grade were barely higher than the scores of white girls in fourth grade. In math, 46% of African-American boys demonstrated "basic" or higher grade-level skills, compared with 82% of white boys. On the National Education Longitudinal Survey, 54% of 16-year-old African-American males scored below the 20th percentile, compared with 24% of white males and 42% of Hispanic males. Having well-educated parents did not close the gap: In 2006, 43% of black high-school seniors with at least one college-educated parent failed to demonstrate even basic reading comprehension, nearly twice the percentage of whites.

The Democrats and black "so-called leaders" have helped to devastate the lives and dreams of the black family, and in particular, young black men.

Poor prez, chickens coming home to roost.  Maybe he needs a common man czar to actually advise him on the little people, how to communicate, connect and listen.
