For general discussion and debate. Possible talking point: Tomorrow is election day, and (Public Policy Polling) PPP has conservatives in the lead in NJ, VA, and NY-23.

In New Jersey, PPP now has the GOP's Chris Christie leading Democrat Jon Corzine 47% - 41%, with Daggett at 11%.

In New York's 23rd District Congressional Race, PPP now has Conservative Doug Hoffman leading Democrat Bill Owens 51% - 34%, with now dropped-out Dede Scozzafava at 13% (her name is still on the ballot).

In the Virginia Governor's race, PPP now shows Republican Bob McDonnell leading Democrat Creigh Deeds by a 56% - 42% margin.

A conservative sweep would be a powerful message (knock on wood).

Sickening.

In order to be pro-choice, one must first be born. Ah, the irony.

Should pay close attention.

Dems are already spinning

Dems are already spinning these as unimportant, and referendums on state issues and not federal issues. I wonder what they'd be saying if the polling showed otherwise.

Oh, I've also heard several times this morning the "inherited" [read: Bush's fault] economic mess as the reason these races are close. I think if they look hard enough, the Dems could find ways to blame Ike for the failed ability to create infrastructure jobs. These folks are pitiful.

They spin at their peril.

“It is almost impossible to distinguish a politician from a gangster.” (Will Durant, 1931)

Don't forget....Democrat

Don't forget....Democrat losses can actually be GOOD, here.....

So they say....

Well, mom, I'm all in favor

Well, mom, I'm all in favor of doing lots of good to the Democrat party.  I think we should do good to them tomorrow, and next November, and November 2012.

Jarrett Clip

Morning Joe played a remarkable clip from Valarie Jarrett's tour of the Sunday morning talk circuit.  It happened quickly and I believe it was from ABC.  Talking about Afghanistan she said (and I do not quote exactly) . . . .

. . . the election shouldn't get in our way of ENDING the war.  What she did not say was WINNING the war.  If that's the case and that's the official White House position then all the dithering has indeed been a sham.

We'll eventually head home losers but the doofusses on the Nobel Peace Prize committee will reap the rewards.

Ending the war

An astute observation. Liberals just don't like 'winning' wars (See also; Vietnam).

"I ask, Sir, what is the militia? It is the whole people. To disarm the people is the best and most effectual way to enslave them."
George Mason

The President has said the

The President has said the he is "uncomfortable" with the idea of "winning" the war.

As I've said before, there are three ways to end war....you win it, you lose it, or you unilaterally withdraw from it (which is a lot like losing).

Given that our President doesn't want to "win"  what does that tell you?

Winning is not in the Dem vocab

Winning implies someone had to lose therefore someone is now feeling bad and unequeal because of the lose. So everyone gets a trophy and feels good about themselves.

Kisses and hugs all the way around!  <tee hee>

Election coverage

Look for the media to deflect everything away from Obama. It was the candidates, you see, too weak to carry the message of change.

And even if the people speak strongly, don't look for the Democrats to budge. The country already sent them strong messages this summer, and they didn't care about what the people wanted. They obviously don't give a crap -- they're going to do what they want to do.

DNC math

If they pull off just one victory, they will declare affirmation of the oBama mandate. Kind of like, if you get one Republican to vote for your bill, it's bi-partisanship.

"I ask, Sir, what is the militia? It is the whole people. To disarm the people is the best and most effectual way to enslave them."
George Mason

Good point

The transparency of the hype is what amazes me. By that I mean, hype is usually intended to sway people who don't realize it's hype. But if you get only one republican and start proclaiming bi-partisanship, even when she definitively said that she won't vote for a public option, everyone knows it isn't bi-partisan. You haven't fooled anyone. All of the pundits, however, repeat the fiction without the slightest pause for review. It's all a kabuki dance.

So, you want to kabuki dance?

Transparent hype, indeed! But these people in the MSM really believe that they ARE fooling some people. Both are deluusional, of course.

The beginning of the Tea Party era?

Could this be the start of the ground swell that the media at first refused to cover and then did so only disparagingly?

I hate polls

I hate polls, especially right before an election, when so many see it, it's like "hey it's in the bag, we don't need to vote".

Don't get complacent conservatives.GET OUT THERE AND VOTE!!

"Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." -Winston Churchill

This is why polls are important

Sure sometimes polls can be biased, but when they are done for a certain length of time, they are quite accurate. By no means does it mean it is a sure thing, but polls can tell what direction its voters are going.

"I think we're kindred spirits."~Mr Shy to Sergeant ROCK

Here in Virginia the 2005 and 2007 votes...

....were absolutely described as being referendums on Bush--the Wash Post was quite generous with it's quotes from people who said they voted for the Dems in local races as a way to show their unhappiness with Bush, Iraq, the economy etc.

Now of course when the GOP is likely to win all three statewide positions on the ballot by as much as 10 points, as well as increasing it's majority in the state house of delegates by anywhere from 5 to 12 seats, we are told it's all about local issues and candidates and it just doesn't have anything to do with BHO.

Funny how that works.

Just remember that the tie

Just remember that the tie goes to the liberal. By tie I mean a conservative victory of less than 1 million votes.

That's how many times Fox news stated Obama had to go to NJ to stump for Corzine and Christie is still holding on to a (narrow) lead, but a lead nonetheless. This says a lot if three showings of Obama has done nothing for Corzine numbers in a Blue state.

Heavy,

Too bad Obama didn't go six times.

LOL-If he had, Corzine would be running behind the local dog catcher.

-Dave

Our elected representatives have failed us.

RD one thing I've learned about polls...

is to never trust them but man I can't help get excited over this.

To have a sweep would invoke such a sinister smile on my face Satan himself would wince.

Ford posts a tidy profit

I am ectatic for them, but I cannot help but think there is something rotten being planned for them deep in the bowels of the Obama White House, and it probably will enlist the aid of the UAW goons at some point.

After all, Ford turned down the taxpayer bailout money, and as wel all know, that just cannot go unpunished.

-Dave

Our elected representatives have failed us.

RD no lie I am happy for Ford

the were the only one with a backbone and if Obama and his goons what to try something stupid, let them I can promise you it will backfire.

Did you notice in

Did you notice in yesterday's race that Elliot Sadler was driving a Ford?  Teammate Kasey Kahne was in his Dodge.

Semper suprene nitens

Ricklail

I'm fairly upset. I missed the race...yes as hard as it sounds I missed it! I heard the race was canceled due to rain so I made my usual haunt to Lowe's for an up coming project. Later that day I turned on the TV just to see what was on and with 20 laps left I caught the last of the race! At least from what a buddy of mine told me the race was fairly dull until the very last. Did you see Ryan Newman? It looked like someone was trying to get their frequent flyers miles. That was some wild ride!

Good picture of his torn

Good picture of his torn up car.  Him and Stewart stayed near the rear of the field most of the day. They made their move at lap 30. All that riding in the back to avoid trouble was for nothign.

Semper suprene nitens

OBAMACARE: If it ain't good enough for my Congressman then it ain't good enough for me.

Heavy,

I am pretty sure they are going to try something stoopid, probably profoundly so.

I hope it does more than merely backfire. I hope it blows up in his face, like if Ford uproots itself and moves down south to a friendlier labor market. :-)

For the most part, we here are glad to have jobs, and don't go to bed every night dreaming up ways to destroy those who pay us.

Our elected representatives have failed us.

They got 44,000 of my money.

They got 44,000 of my money. Needed a new truck. They got my business not because of the price. Not because the quality. Both were very good for what I got. It was because they did not take bailout money and I liked Fords anyway.

Excellent (said in my best

The Obama Administration: THE most fiscally irresponsible Administration EVER

Re Ford

Should Obamacare pass, I suspect that Americans will not want government healthcare just as they don't want a car from Government Motors. That's why Obamacare is designed to force people into first the exchange, and eventually after private health insurance is destroyed, a single-payer scheme.

The liberal elites that push government healthcare want it for the little people, just as they want little putt-putt cars for the little people while they stick with their Volvos and Mercedes. There's no way in hell that they will accept it for themselves, especially government workers and thug unions that have the gold-plated plans.

Obamacare is a plan that its supporters want, but they want it for someone else.

Wow, D...you get the Rush Award today

He expressed the exact same concern in the first hour of his show today.

I hope he fails, too.

J,

GMTA.   :-^)

Actually, it's a pretty logical move for a bunch of statists who are aiming for a private-sector takeover.

Ford refused to play the first time around, and therefore they must pay.

Our elected representatives have failed us.

Here in New York the only

Here in New York the only major vote for me is for the Mayor of NYC.  Believe me, I will not vote for a single Democrat or Liberal.  The guy running for Mayor, Bill Thompson ruined the Board of Education before Bloomberg was able to take over the schools and turn them around, and he thinks he can run the City?  HAH!!!!

Still considering voting for a Conservative candidate in the NJ Gubanatorial election.
