I'm a believer now!
Thu, 10/29/2009 - 09:33 ET by ThatDudeWOW! I can't believe how amazingly persuasive that was. I didn't have time to read half of the fun words that were drawn on the flag, but they sure were persuasive. Universal health care or America dies!
Wait a minute...you mean to say that healthcare works better when it isn't run by the government? You mean to say that mandating that our medical professionals give time to every single person regardless of his/her ability to compensate? It couldn't possibly be that doctors expect some sort of return for years of training and thousands of dollars spent in order to apply their profession. I don't suppose they would like to be slaves to the system with quotas for how many patients must be seen and caps on pay.
Universal health care wouldn't at all feed the entitlement crowd and blossom their ranks. Why, this is all just silly!
Honestly, I don't understand how anybody falls for this stuff. The left should try a coherent argument backed by factual evidence rather than repeating emotive words. If they really think this will work without infringing on our rights, then they are free to prove it and debate any aspect. Instead, they repeat their talking points and expect every nonsensical phrase to be taken as true and enlightened thought.
Stupid.
Bush's fault?

Let there be no doubt that President Obama inherited this 'recovery' from President Bush.

More Lies Coming

LOOK ON THE BRIGHT SIDE...
Thu, 10/29/2009 - 10:22 ET by danybhoyI was just happy to see the flag was'nt in flames, on the ground as a floor mat, or being soaked in a bucket of p!ss. A flag & a Marks-A-Lot marker does'nt seem so bad.

lost jobs
Thu, 10/29/2009 - 10:23 ET by inquiringmindI haven't heard much about the potential lost jobs that will occur if the insurance companies can't make money due to government undercutting their prices. If they have to close their doors or simply be forced to cut back. That would run into the millions of jobs.
Not that I'm a bleeding heart for the insurance companies but if the government won't let corporate America have unfair competitive advantage which would drive out all of their small competitors how can they justify this?
Newt on NY-23
Thu, 10/29/2009 - 10:18 ET by slickwillie2001Newt's story on how Scozzafava became the Republican nominee in upstate New York (as recounted on Greta's show) seems to differ greatly from those that were there when it happened:
Who Lied to Newt Gingrich? http://www.tcotreport.com
Looks like a case where some real investigative and objective journalism is called for. Someone is lying and covering up and we should demand to know what really happened.
Quite Evident
Thu, 10/29/2009 - 10:30 ET by threepiecestraightjacketI think the frame where the flag disappears makes their goal quite evident - to destroy America.
Scuzzards!!
Thu, 10/29/2009 - 10:35 ET by Patriot IIDo these clowns think there will be a place for them in the new socialist govt? The one world govt wants to "dispose" of millions of people, why on earth would they think they are among those that will be spared.....com'n stupidicus...wake up! This is a control issue, not a health issue, if you believe you will enjoy slavery, then support it.....!!!

Now what
Thu, 10/29/2009 - 11:03 ET by StarAZSan Fran Nan has plopped some hideous travesty onto the table over there healthcare-wise. The cos are in a coop--but there is ALSO a govt plan? I can't even read this stuff anymore. This woman has no idea of what to do...why is our health care system being taken apart by people we wouldn't even have a drink with if they sat next to us in a bar? I think this whole mess is wired now...someone someplace knows how it will turn out. We are just fodder.
still hopeful
Thu, 10/29/2009 - 12:30 ET by jon_torlinWell, not all that hopeful, but I guess we have to see what happens.
We already know that what they want to do is un-Constitutional, but they haven't actually tried to make it a law yet. I suppose once they do (unless some miracle happens like not enough votes) pass it in both houses by Veteran's Day like she wants to, and Obeyme tries to sign it into law, it's up to the SCOTUS to stop it, to derail that train before it becomes the wreck that will be our country when the deal is done.
If they do strike it down, then there's hope. If they sit back and do nothing no matter what, we're screwed and the economy will set sail to the waterfall's edge and go right over and all hell breaks loose.
So we got a deadline of two weeks with the hopes that it will be stopped in its tracks.
These congressmen need to be held accountable for their actions.

Dover Trip
Thu, 10/29/2009 - 11:20 ET by slickwillie2001If you folks haven't heard, the Bamster made a wee-hours trip last night to Dover AFB to pay respects to the 18 Americans on their trip home from Afghanistan. Credit is due to the Bamster's team for sending him there, whatever their objective.

it's not about health care
Thu, 10/29/2009 - 12:12 ET by RousseYou don't really think this "artwork" is about health care, do you? There's nothing more uber-chic than trotting out a flag so it can be mocked. Any artist worth his salt will have a "flag desecration" artwork in his portfolio. This "artist" merely hopped on the Obama Opportunity Train to enhance his reputation.
The other nineteen finalists must be seething.

ObamaCare = <profanity>
Thu, 10/29/2009 - 12:25 ET by needleI think that A) this a Democrat’s way of saying what he thinks of America in general, and B) passing ObamaCare is a specific way of expressing and effecting his wishes for America.
In other word: F*** America, pass ObamaCare
I think many of us can understand the equivalence implied here; the main difference is in how the Left and the Right feel about it.
- Relying upon the State Run Media for your information is like relying upon an embezzler for your portfolio management.
- I didn't leave the Republican Party; the Republican Party left me.
Foolish Assumptions!!
Thu, 10/29/2009 - 13:19 ET by slickwillie2001The democratics claim that their legislation, whichever bill you want to look at, is to relieve the problem of the '36 million uninsured'. It has already been shown that many of those 36 million can afford but don't want insurance, are already covered and they don't know it, etc. The real number of additional legal residents that Obamacare will cover is more like 12-14 million.
But that ignores a huge problem. As the Wellpoint study showed (article here), Obamacare will increase the cost of private or company healthcare insurance by doubling it, or even tripling it in some states. Assuming that people will absorb those increases and not drop their insurance is a foolish, foolish assumption. The 12-14 million that Obamacare will gain in insured legal residents will be swamped by the many millions that can't afford such an enormous increase in their monthly premiums.
Net, I expect Obamacare if passed will mean more uninsured. But that will not concern the democratics because this is more about government control and a big Christmas gift for their thug union movement.
strike it down
Thu, 10/29/2009 - 13:40 ET by jon_torlinWait and see what the SCOTUS does, theoretically they should strike this down as un-Constitutional if Barry signs it into law. I'm sure the "Wise Latina" might not agree to striking it down.
Any guesses on who would strike it down besides Scalia and Thomas? I can't tell about the rest.
