Thankfully, there's college football today for those interested in watching athletes actually TRYING (just a joke, folks. Please send angry e-mail messages elsewhere!!!). What games are on your radar today?

Saturday, YAY!
October 17, 2009 - 08:15 ET by RukusTonight SC and the Tide go at it, gonna be a good one. The Gats/Hogs game should be entertaining also. The one I'm really looking forward to though is The Red River Rivalry, now THAT is gonna be fun to watch, always is. Man do I love me some college football!

See, you didn't have to wait too long
October 17, 2009 - 08:34 ET by BlondeThe Techs' game (Va & Ga) is going to be a good one as well.
Nice game day line-up too (3 SEC teams in the noon hour last week had me flipping channels like a madwoman).
I'm with you today, Ruk, ROLL TIDE! I hate to see the Old Ball Coach fail, but I want us to meet an undefeated Bama on December 5th. LSU has a bye this week to lick their wounds, and get ready for the rest of their season...so look out!
GO GATORS!!!!!
I hope he fails, too.
Still a lot of season left but...

Well, true enough
October 17, 2009 - 09:40 ET by BlondeWhat's left of your season looks a little more intimidating than ours. You have yet to play LSU and the ever pesky Auburn. I think you Bammers will cream Lame Kitten & The Girls.
The remainder of the Gators' season is not too scary. USCe and our old OC's (Dan Mullen) school cannot be overlooked. I think UGA and FSU are so down in the dumps they don't present a threat.
The key for both of us is (1) don't understimate anyone, and (2) no injuries. (That Tebow concussion was awful, but as they say....why waste a good panic?). Both of our teams have it within reach to go undefeated into the BCS game....how cool would that be to have two 12-0 teams in the SECCG? Both teams are playing hard and putting all the pieces in place...to peak at the right time.
Today, both are games ought to look pretty much the same, they'll be high scoring with big plays on both sides, but the better defense will ultimately win the day.
So good luck today, and the rest of the season.
GO GATORS!!!!!!
I hope he fails, too.
Point (1) is the kicker
October 17, 2009 - 09:52 ET by RukusI've learned that in college football you never, ever underestimate anyone. That's so true. LA-Monroe anybody, yikes! Good luck with the Hogs today.

October 17, 2009 - 09:59 ET by ricklailAs Blonde has said the VA Tech-GA Tech is a big one in the ACC. This game may well decide who is going to the ACC Championship from the Coastal Divsion. It could also validate if VA Tech is deserving of their ranking.
The Heels are idle today. They play FSU Thursday night in Chapel Hill. The next Thursday night they play VA Tech in Blacksburg. Both are nationally televised games. I sure hope they don't embarrass us.
The big one for me OK-Texas. I guess if you live on the left coast it is USC-ND.
Clem's son and Wake. If Dabo loses this game I expect the moving van will be sitting at his door on Monday.
Panthers play the Bucs tomorrow. That is 2 crummy games in a row.
Gun season for deer opened here today. I'll have to run to town this afternoon and see the buck parade as the hunters show off their kill.
I know this might be premature but I think they can go ahead and hand the Sprint Cup to Jimmie Johnson. As in past years when he got a lead he has been hard to beat.
Being a Dodger fan I'll take a win any way they can. If the winning run scores on a balk-well that's a win.

October 17, 2009 - 14:47 ET by ricklailI watched the highlights of Meeeechigan destroy Delware State. Meeeeechigan had over 700 yards of offense-a school record. This is what pisses me about college football. Letting a school like Meeechigan run all over a school that really has no chance and then bragging about their performance. Delware State played before a crowd of 3000 last week. This week around 106,000.
Let see if they can do that against the Buckeyes or even against any other division 1 team.

Georgia Tech is a fairly preeminent engineering school
October 17, 2009 - 19:07 ET by R D HelmHeck, my dad graduated from the place with degrees in both ME and CE.
You would think with all that brain power they could engineer a defense that might actually stop somebody, but Nooooooooooooo.

October 17, 2009 - 21:31 ET by NL207"Georgia Tech is a fairly preeminent engineering school"
That is a matter of perspective. I'd not discuss the point with any graduates of Cal tech.
Two men talking at a sports bar:
1st man: Georgia Tech? All they ever graduated were football players and whores.
2nd man: Hey, My mother graduated from Georgia Tech!
1st man: Really? What position did she play?
Don't look now, but the Buffs are up 10-3 over Kansas
October 17, 2009 - 19:15 ET by R D HelmUpset in the making?
-Dave
Anything else? Yeah,
October 17, 2009 - 19:16 ET by JerAnything else?
Yeah, here's something else: I love baseball. It is by far the best sport in the history of mankind. So the winning run scored on a bases-loaded walk. So what. There have been some terrific games, including that one.
Jer
→ I guess
October 17, 2009 - 19:18 ET by Cool ArrowIt can't be easy to watch the payoff pitch go by, hoping the Umpire calls it right.
And the pitcher had to be thinking "How do I put a ball over that gets in play but doesn't get clobbered"?
The essence
October 17, 2009 - 19:40 ET by general companyOf good Baseball, every pitch counts.
My Gov. thinks I am dangerous, so be careful
"Television is a freak show" Bernie Goldberg
Jer, you are exactly right.
October 17, 2009 - 19:20 ET by R D HelmYou have to pitch until you get 27 outs.
If you walk in the winning run before out # 27, well, that's just tough cookies. :-)
-Dave
I love Baseball also, But
