Forty-eight days before the release and she’s already topped Dan Brown’s latest conspiracy-theory casserole at both [Barnes and Noble and Amazon]. To put that in perspective, note that the book doesn’t even have a cover yet.

Will the MSM ignore, as they did with Levin, Beck, and Malkin?

They love to hate Palin.

I hope she has it perfectly edited and word perfect, so the only thing they can say is they hate her ideas. Oh wait, if it's perfectly edited and word perfect, they'll say she had a ghost writer.

Kinda like someone we know who can't string together a sentence without fifteen "uhs" and had a ghostwriter. Riiight. No agenda there.

The MSM lives in its own tiny bubble of distorted reality and has no idea of what is going on in the real world. Of course they are going to miss it. They would have to identify it in order to ignore it. And they cannot force themselves to look outside of their bubble so they won't notice that Sarah has a blockbuster on her hands.

To take public attention off the disasters in Health Care, Cap and Trade, Iran, Afghanistan, etc., the President enlisted the support of his most loyal allies - the formerly main-stream media.

In staging his own 'homecoming' celebration of sorts ( http://www.conservativeblog.thewebinfocenter.com/conservative-blog/the-o... ) Obama is attempting to salve the country's anxiety by bringing home a huge prize - award of the 2016 Olympic Games. The media is somewhat tired of having to cover up the Obama failures, so it will surely help celebrate the 'win' for Obama.

Please, Please, Please.... award the games to Rio.

He needs a "win", and the Olympics landing in the Windy City will be just that. I know this has been mentioned ad nauseum, but I can't help contemplating the cacophony of righteous indignation from the left if GWB had dropped everything of any import (Iraq, Afghanistan, Healthcare reform, 10% unemployment, etc) to jet off and pander to the IOC to get the Olympics held somewhere in Texas...Hypocrites!

Perhaps. For an unpopular President, it's not a bad calculated move. It's like attending a county fair and looking at the cows. No one can possibly object. He's also going somewhere where he's more popular than he is here.

The Chicago Olympics are a little different though, with all the corruption in Chicago, the tie-ins between his staff and that corruption, and the inevitable billion-dollar bailout.

Let's hope this becomes just another anchor that takes him down in 2012.

Have you seen this Starbucks add where near the end of the add they make fun of people speaking out (they say yell) at town hall meetings? The add is for their new instant coffee which they say tastes the same as their brewed coffee. This add has been running a lot in Dallas on NBC. That sure makes me NOT want to try Starbucks "via" since I would be supporting a bunch of jerks who think socialism is great and think that we should sit down and shut up.

I haven't seen Starbucks around much lately here in Minneapolis. They've been closing store after store for years. With that type of ad as an example of their business model, now I understand why.

here in seattle you can have 6 starbucks within 10 miles of each other and 2 more inside grocery stores and they're all still money makers. Must be all the rain - those of us with perpetual seasonal affective disorder keep the caffeine business in business. :)

I was stationed at Fort Lewis for a year and I used to visit Seattle, as well as other cities and towns, a lot. I was never impressed with the general intelligence the citizens of Washington State displayed (no offense intended).

For example,I once visited a, aah, "exotic dance club" (Hay, I was 25, single, and in the Military. where else would ! go?) and they were not only charging a "cover charge" and six dollars for 8 ounces of soda pop (and this was in 1986!) , but they didn't serve alcohol when the women performed as this was illegal. Apparently, the wise liberals in charge of government believed that partially nude women wouldn't entice men to perform immoral acts, but a beer would, so they made it illegal to serve alcohol at these types of establishments, and here's the kicker, but only when the women were performing on stage! Now that's just stupid!

Starbucks represents an interesting predicament for Seattle-style liberalism. Starbucks was the darling of the far lefties for years, but now they seem to have crossed the 'evil' threshold where they are considered a filthy capitalist multinational bloodsucking etc etc. When the nutty anarchists go looking for windows to smash now they look for a Starbucks.

What exactly is that threshold? Is it determined by revenue? Number of locations? When will Whole Foods become evil? Does it go by whether they are unionized or not? Why isn't ACORN evil? Is General Motors still evil?

Just would like to know the rules.

Hill has always been a motor-mouthed fool, but a couple of nights ago BOR had him on discussing our situation with Iran, and I thought what-the-hell? This was like asking Whoopi Goldberg which of the ongoing nuclear fusion projects has the greatest potential. All the brilliant people Fox News has on tap that can intelligently discuss this issue, and they put Hill on?

I also don't see BOR's seeming fascination with Hill. It may be that BOR feels comfortable with him because he's one of the few talking heads that is dumber than Bill. Just another symptom of BOR's slide perhaps.

I am looking forward to picking up former Governor Palin's book. These past few months I have picked up Mark Levin's "Liberty and Tyranny", Michele Malkin's "Culture of Corruption" (which I am reading now) and Thomas Paine's "Common Sense and other writings" (which I read on the train).

All these books are enjoyable and enlightening.

Comcast in initial talks to buy NBC from GE

This is the second time I've heard a story on CNBC about GE wanting to sell NBC. This time it's COMCAST buying a 51% stake in the company.

I think GE sees the handwriting on the wall when it comes to NBC. GE doesn't want to be a media company. I don't think they like the attention that the nutcases on MSNBC bring to GE and their business/political deals.

I am hopeful that if COMCAST buys NBC, they will actually decide to run it as a money making venture and will dump some of the content that only attracts 50,000 viewers, including many of whom that forgot to change the channel when they got done watching a "Locked up in San Quentin" show.
