Several telling games

Several telling games today- 49'rs v. Vikes is one for sure. Also, Tennessee v. Jets is an interesting matchup- Jets are at home and riding high after beating the Pats in Boston, but the Titans can't go to 0-3 in the Colt's division.

My Ravens have what should be an easy win over Cleveland, which puts a lot of pressure on both Pittsburgh and Cincy to beat each other to death- all good for B'more.

Atlanta v. New England should be a good game as well as Indy going to the desert. Even Miami and the Bolts got a lot to prove. Denver a pretender? We'll see in the Black Hole.

Really interesting, and potentially telling week 3.

Interesting

Politically wise two interesting matchups:

SF@MIN- I wonder if Bachmann has any bets with Pelosi on this one.

MIA@SD- The battle of this year's gay guys-Perez Hilton(from Miami) and Adam Lambert(from San Diego)

Anyway I am a Niner fan so lets go to 3-0!

Hear, hear!

Hear, hear!

Would you 2 kindly update the score?

We have the Atlanta game on our Fox station, not MN-SF, which I really wanted to see, darn.  (Sorry Dave).

I don't watch much NFL, but I wanted to see how Percy Harvin is doing in the big purple.

I hope he fails, too.

NFL? Who Cares?

NFL Players have pledged $1M toward the building of a memorial to Michael King (aka MLK) in Washington DC. They're using their salaries, paid in part by fans across the country, to continue to promote this Communist, adulterous, plagarist, prostitute loving phony.

And who have these played joined for this cause? Why the Congressional Black Caucus no less ! !

 http://www.buffalonews.com/nationalworld/national/story/804844.html

NFL players pledge $1M for King Memorial in DC

The NFL Players Association is pledging to raise or donate $1 million to help build the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial planned for the National Mall in Washington.

DeMaurice Smith, the association's executive director, announced the pledge Wednesday at a luncheon with the Congressional Black Caucus. He says King was an inspiration to many NFL players.

The gift brings the fundraising total to $107 million of the $120 million needed to build the memorial.

I really don't have much

I really don't have much to cheer about today. The Panthers suck and will probably go 0-3. That will do about do it for any playoff hopes.

The Heels couldn't get their passing game going yesterday and let the Yellowjackets have their way.

The ACC out of conference just flat stunk. TCU beating Clem's son and USF beating FSU

Officials taking over the

Officials taking over the game now. 30 yards of bogus personal foul calls on this drive. Pathetic!!!

How do you beat a team when the refs are giving them a third of the field on bad calls?!?

No Such Thing.

Really now?

Blame the refs for your teams failure.

slt

slt,

Oh really? So, you think those were good calls? Please elaborate.  ns

P.S. Failure? We're winning!!!!

Hehehehehe.

I take it you are for the 49ers

If that is the case you really didn't like the kickoff return of 101 yards.  NY teams doing well so far.....

exp

exp,

No. You've just taken over the momentum scoring ten unanswered points, and you give up a 101-yard kickoff return. Pathetic. Lots of football left.  ns

Giants shutout Bucs, Jets working it

Just checked and the Vikes are still 3 points up.  9ers still have a chance with 10+ minutes left.

You have Nebraska for CFL, I have Army

Noel,

Guessing that you support Nebraska in the college ranks.  At least you get wins, as an Army supporter we go for good showings.  Iowa State is still the enigma.  They either play great or can be beat by Manhattan High.  I still like KSU.  The Rodney Dangerfields of college football.  And there is a reason for that.  By the way, Army beat them royally the last time they played, 1987 I believe.

LOL, expat

In TN they call "good showings" (a 23-12 loss) a "moral victory".

BTW, I lived across the street from the KState stadium in Manhattan, KS, once upon a time while living the life of Riley.  I still like the purple cats, too.

I hope he fails, too.

Exp, Well, since I send so

Exp,

Well, since I send so much money to UNL, I have to root for them. However, my alma mater is Cal. Not a good showing yesterday. :-(  ns

Good for whom?

Yeah, I know, sorry....I'm still hopeful my Gat's will go undefeated, so as the undefeated fall off, it helps.  Time will tell.  Timmy's out of the hospital, so all is well in the Gator Nation.

When does the track season kick into gear N?

I hope he fails, too.

Not as bad as our showing

The kids keep shooting themselves in the feet.  They were inside the State 30 numerous times and kept committing penalties etc.  Most are young and should start working better with the new system.  The purple cats are my big 12 team.  Go Snyder!

Ah, so it's true

The Gator boards just posted Percy had a 101 yd. return.  Darn Fox, I'd really liked to have seen this game.

I hope he fails, too.

Because the Panthers play

Because the Panthers play tomorrow night we are getting the Falcons-Pats. I like to watch Matt Ryan but wouldn't you know the week I get to see them he is not on his A game.

When I walked in from the wedding last I turn on the TV and they were showing the ambulance taking Timmy to the hospital. Kinda made the ole jowl drop. Good to see he is OK.

Some ass wipe e-mailed ESPN radion and said he was glad Timmy got hurt and hoped his career was over. You should have heard the howls, not just from the Gator nation but all over the country. The first thing I thought about was some of the crowd from Huff n Puff or Kos Kids were on the loose on sports radio now.

OBAMACARE: If it ain't good enough for my Congressman then it ain't good enough for me.

I know, Rick

There are some disgusting people out there, truly.

That's why I don't post on the Gator boards, just read.  Lunatics everywhere.  I much prefer the sports talk here, it's not trash, and for the most part, we all want each other to be happy unless it's head to head (I hate to tell you, but I couldn't watch the Heels game after about a half....I tried, I really did, but it was painful knowing how big of a fan you are).

I know this is the NFL OT, but since it is an OT, I just have to ask.....was the wedding fun?

I hope he fails, too.

Seeing how I didn't have to

Seeing how I didn't have to foot the majority of the bill for the wedding I really enjoyed it. The best part was the BBQ and the BBQed chicken at the receiption.

At 2:30 I got out of the truck and walked into the church to get ready. Things were out of hand in Atlanta. When my wife's uncle showed up he gave me the bad news. 31-7. We had to take pictures after the wedding so it was about 7:30 when we got to the receiption. Something was wrong with the local ESPN station so I couldn't get any scores on the radio. When we walked in there my wife's uncle had a big smile on his face because the Hookies had just crushed the scum from UM.

Hee hee, Rick

I know I shall invoke the wrath of Rock....but I learned a new one (actually, I made it up).

You can't spell hUMbled without UM.

Man, the little UM Troll CaneThing up and disappeared on the Gator boards....funny how that happens, LOL!

Good riddance to scUM.  "Demolished" doesn't begin to cover it.

I hope he fails, too.

Noel

Sorry about your 'Niners, but I'm so happy to see them back to their normal jersey's, a-la the 1980's... they were morphing into some different red, with more black, drop-shadow.... ugh.... they look like their old selves again. :)

Btw, can you say New York, New York, 6-0 ???? :)

Giants and Jets

49ers looking bad so far.  My Giants not so much.  Go NY teams!

Ha!

Lions are winning right now.

I don't know what to do. On one hand I'm exciting but I don't want to end up in a pile of depression after they blow the 2nd half.

Oh BABY!!!! 14-13 at

One thing to be happy about

When I said earlier I didn't have anything to cheer about I hadn't looked at the Heels box score. Eric Highsmith had 6 catches with 1 TD yesterday. I am going to keep bragging about this kid because he is a hometown boy.  Last year at this time I was watching catch passes at West Craven HS.

Go Saints!

Gotta root for Shockey's new team.  He still makes plays even if he is a bit of a head case.

49'ers lose a tough one

Here in St Paul, Brett Favre has been elevated to miracle-man. Unbelievable final minute and a half. SF played their hearts out, and really should have won. Favre: WOW.

Yep. Great game.

Yep. Great game. Heartbreaker for the Niners, but a BIG showing on the road by a young team.

Should have passed on 3rd and six to try and get the first down before they punted. Three run plays there was just too conservative. But that's Singletary's philosophy.

Hopefully this is something for this young team to build on. We'll see.

Congratulations, Vikings fans. Maybe we'll see you again in the playoffs.  ns

...

Ugh.  Favre just keeps coming back to haunt me.  Isn't he due to retire again? Grrr....

but I'd bet the line would be a push and the over/under would be 6.

Off topic, but Phil Mickelson just won the Tour Championship

After a horrendous first round 73, Phil came back and fired a 67, 66 and a 65 to finish at 9 under par, three shots ahead of second-place Tiger Woods.

This was Phil's 5th win here in Georgia.  :-)

Congrats to Phil on a great year.

Thank God it's Sunday.  No Tim Tebow hype, self-promotion or proselytizing to endure.

Thank God that next year on Sunday we won't be seeing anything from Tim Tebow either (unless we live in Canada).

Timmy Rules

Dream on.....The Swine flu takes Tim Tebow Shots....Superman wears Tim Tebow shorts.....and you shall surely hear all about him next year.

Thank God he is okay.

You are totally off base on the "self-promotion".  Timmy is Timmy.  Nothing more, nothing less.  If he never takes a snap in the NFL, I'm sure he would hardly care less.

Why is it that people just love to run him down?  Because I just don't get it, he's an outstanding young man.  He carried my Gators to a BCS National Championship with the force of his will, alone.  What's up with you naysayers?   Are you just haters?

I hope he fails, too.

Tebow is Tebow

He's just flat out a great athlete. I wish we had him here, altough McElroy is turning out to be a great QB himself. When we meet in Dec. it's gonna be a great game! Can't wait. Got the Cat's next week, I don't put them off ever, they can sneak up on ya if ya take 'em lightly. The Gators have a week off don't they? The SEC is already fun this year! ROLL TIDE!!

Exactly, Ruk

Which is why I can't understand the flat out hatred.  What is up with that?

I hope he fails, too.

Tebow

I get the hatred.  Tim Tebow is successful, and nothing enrages some people more than success.  The same thing driving the hatred of Tebow is the same thing driving the hatred of, say, Tom Brady, or Wal-Mart.

I don't get it either.  It is truly stupid.  May Tim Tebow win all he can.  I suspect we will not have heard the last of him when he is done at FL.

Although I haven't made a point of following Tim Tebow's career, I can't recall ever reading anything about him proselytizing. Can you link me to a site that accurately quotes him trying to push his faith on anyone?
