Why would Major Garrot
June 23, 2009 - 11:50 ET by ThisnThatWhy would Major Garrett point out something like "there are no telepromters in the room?"
I remember when my sons learned to walk. I was proud of them, too.

Here's an excerpt to one of his Iran answers
June 23, 2009 - 11:54 ET by OBIE1DAKOMYerrr, ummm Iran... and let me repeat this... errr umm... What we've said since the election is consistent with what we said after the election.
OBIE~
June 23, 2009 - 13:12 ET by Georgia GirlYeah, sure, it's all the same. He's been ever-so consistent and strong on this issue, didn't ya know? We all must just have misunderstood. The language today is different -- and the tone -- and the content -- but it's all just really the same. LOL. Never mind the big ole donkey (lib) in the room! We'll just pretend everything has always been as it should be. Notice how liberals don't like to use factual information in analyzing things?
Obama, as usual, has had to be politically boxed in (what's in it for him) to get to the point of this third statement. It's like pulling teeth. His folks will just keep repeating how wonderful he's been and continues to be -- how very "consistent" he is and ignore all the tough questions they are being asked (from FOXNEWS) today.
You fogot

errr, ummm
June 24, 2009 - 01:07 ET by m1xramlol, my bs-ometer always get pegged by this guy.
Re: Teleprompters
June 23, 2009 - 11:57 ET by slickwillie2001It's big news that he is giving a speech without teleprompters. He appears to be looking down at the lectern, probably to some paper notes.
The Bamster called on a 'reporter' from the Puff Ho; imagine the kerfuffle had President George W. Bush called on someone from Hot Air or Powerline.
Major Garrett asked about the July 4th wiener roast with Iranians. Bamster looked irritated, mumbled some words about not having diplomatic relations with Iran, other lofty objectives. Didn't really answer the question.
Discipline the health companies...
June 23, 2009 - 11:59 ET by OBIE1DAKOMY= control the health care companies.
HMMM
June 23, 2009 - 14:21 ET by rick007Quite giving ileagls free medical care . Deduct the cost out of the Aid we send them!!!
slick -- kudos for watching
June 23, 2009 - 12:04 ET by Jack Bauerslick -- kudos for watching the insufferable bore. I can't do it.
While I am horrified that the Meanderer-in-Chief is determined to humiliate the United States on its birthday, I am looking forward to his "SMART" diplomacy when Iranians are asked whether they'd like their porky hotdogs with mustard.
Naive -- has Obama's picture in the Dictionary
June 23, 2009 - 12:07 ET by ThisnThatI love that comment on Iran. Here's a quote about the original invitation: “It is another way of signaling that there is an opportunity that should not be wasted.”
Talk about not being willing to see the evil in people -- other than George Bush, that is. Obama is as naive as they come.

"I read 2 or 3 letters a day.."
June 23, 2009 - 12:04 ET by Gary HallWell.. I'd bet that his staff doesn't pass up the letters from folks on Medicare or Medicaid who can't find a Physician who accepts payment from the M's. For example, SC nominee Sotomayor's brother Dr. Juan Sotomayor, whose Asthma clinic in NY won't accept Medicare and Medicaid patients.

Private Ins cannot compete because they do not have a bottomless
June 23, 2009 - 12:10 ET by OBIE1DAKOMYpit of money they can tax from. However, they will compete by charging higher premiums. Meanwhile, the big ins companies will eat the small ones alive. This results in further job losses and worst economic conditions.
With all do respect
June 23, 2009 - 12:16 ET by sam12663the government doesn't have a bottomless pit of money either...WE ARE BROKE!!!
President Obama is nothing more than a lying empty suit; a Hollywood style special effects smoke and mirrors show that has shown itself to be a total fraud.
WAKE UP AMERICA! SAVE OUR CONSTITUTION!
You are right but... the govt doesn't seem to realize this...
June 23, 2009 - 12:18 ET by OBIE1DAKOMYTheir credit cards are still ringing up orders... and will do so until we are both broke and in their total control.
Some more fear mongering
June 23, 2009 - 12:14 ET by sam12663Again, "health care is a disaster", and this "crisis must be fixed now". If this buffoon couldn't use the words crisis and catasrophe, he couldn't put together a domestic policy speech.

June 23, 2009 - 13:26 ET by bigtimerSefton...
From what I hear this has never been done....since such and such a time...they need to be disinvited in my opinon.
I'm in the middle of a bunch of stuff at home here, just hearing a little bit here and there about this..
I agree with you, but they will have to find something much more than that to take the news away about the Tea Parties...although I have been saying they will do just that if possible...and they will.
Only thing that surprised me about the presser today that I caught was Chucky Todd and O's back and forth...bet Chucky get's a talkin' to behind the msnbc scenes....Olbie already calling in upset, Matthews with his leg not tingling.
I cracked up laughing myself.

Chuck and others
June 23, 2009 - 13:41 ET by SeftonAs soon as he called on Todd, my first reaction is "Oh boy, here comes the 'What type of toilet paper do you use? or 'Boxers or briefs?' question." Todd surprised me though. When he called on Major, I knew he was already wondering how to cut Fox News a condescending response. And kudos to Tapper also, who still doesn't back down from this blowhard prez.
Yeah, I agree, just like last time when Obama claimed "What Tea Parties?" - the press will once again find a way around it, or again pronounce it "a bunch of racists waving tea bags" or some such nonsense.

Exactly how I felt when he called on Chucky...thought it would be a ring-around-the- rosie usual lovin' BS....O never did answer him...
Todd and Tapper were really the news makers in the presser to me from what I saw.
Sure Drudge and elsewhere will have posts about Chucky soon enough if they haven't already regarding his questions about Human Rights etc.
Btw...it seemed to me, Chucky was somewhat taken aback.

Those are my same sentiments too.
Carter should have been there as an International poll watcher...making sure all went legal in Iran...like he was in Palestine, Hamas still just wuv, wuv, wuv him...meaning to set road bombs for the vehicle he was riding him and kill him, means an absolute misunderstanding when it comes to Carter and critters like him.

June 23, 2009 - 15:00 ET by Georgia GirlOkay, the spelling is "realize," not "realise." It's also "you're," not "your." Oh, and it's "grammar," not "grammer." We'll just forget about a few punctuation and capitalization problems.
Oh, I'm sorry. I got confused and thought I was supposed to be correcting your grammar.
As for when we look in the mirror, we see a reflection of those who did not vote for Obama. We feel quite peaceful, thanks.
thanks
June 23, 2009 - 15:07 ET by USAnumber1well as you noticed, i have terrible grammar too. it's like i should be president or something.
and as to YOUR other point... seems to me from all the whining and bitching about trivial stuff going on here, most of the folks here are not feeling that peaceful. of course, there's always a chance i could be wrong.
please feel free to take the time to correct any more mistakes i may have made.
U1~
June 23, 2009 - 15:49 ET by Georgia GirlI would say some points may be trivial to you. You may want to consider that many may be frustrated that their country has been taken over by someone who is (no way around it) a socialist. I have found people here love this country very much and all the principles it was founded on -- and they hold all those values dear. They are deeply discouraged that they see this great country going to heck in a handbasket. So if they vent or kid or get a little riled up, who are you to judge them and ban their thoughts and feelings? You need to be more understanding. Aren't you trying to promote peace and goodwill and non-petty agendas? Let it start with you then.
There are plenty of thoughtful, intelligent and worthwhile discussions going on here. A lot of positive takes place here because people share thoughts/ideas/feelings that spur them to action (i.e., contacting their reps, getting the word out on policy, gearing for 2010 and 2012).
If your opinion is that there is not anything worthwhile here and you don't care for it, you are free to leave. Or stay -- but the least you can do is to stop complaining/whining about discussions on this site ... a site that you have chosen to come on -- nobody forced it upon you.
Agreed
June 23, 2009 - 16:00 ET by USAnumber1I very much respect other people's opinions, however what i don't respect is when i offer a different viewpoint i end being labeled a liberal troll (or whatever ridiculous term used here constantly). The reason i bring this up is that i constantly hear people complaining about how mean and rude liberals are, but when they see it from a conservative to a liberal, its ok on this site. i don't know about you, but i am going to say something when i see people being hypocrites. Complaining about the direction of this country, and then acting in the exact way they complain about. it would refreshing to see people respect other peoples opinions (and maybe try and learn something).
and with regards to people being upset about our socialist president. he is not a socialist. we are so far from socialism its absurd. take a look at the income gaps between the top 10% of society and the lowest 10% and tell me about our socialist problem. sure he wants to introduce socialist ideas in to certain areas of american life (and i have no problem with people disagreeing with that), but to term him a socialist is crazy. once again we need balance. we've all seen how socialism AND capitalism have failed. time to balance them out/
we'll see.
U1...
June 23, 2009 - 16:17 ET by Georgia GirlI'm sorry. The "he is not a socialist" comment. :) He promotes and gears everything toward socialism, but he is not a socialist. Okaaay.
I just can't go into the land of imagination that much. Please, I must remain with reality. Obama will take his socialist agenda as far as Americans will let him. Thankfully, people are waking up.
Not a socialist?!?!? What
June 23, 2009 - 16:36 ET by bassndudeNot a socialist?!?!? What are you? Blind and def? The position of the country right now is simi socialist. Has been sence FDR and his new deal. Either you do not know what socialism is...or...your an idiot...or...your a blind follower of the O man. To say someone is not a socialist because of the country he lives in is, to say the least, moronic. Capitalism never failed untill it was judged by socialist views. That is when capitalism was said to have "failed".
Save a SeAL, club a liberal!!

June 23, 2009 - 17:06 ET by Georgia GirlThe longer he went, the sillier it got. ^_^
I have a theory. I think some of these "all-lowercase-letters" folks are far-left libs on Blackberries. In fact, for all we know, they are all sitting together in some little office. But apparently their manual is the same:
1) Come onto site with a "throw-them-off-patriotic" ID, preferably with a number attached to it. It's easier to keep records that way.
2) Act like you are the Average Joe/Josephine and a "middle-of-the-roader." Try to make friends. If that isn't working, start trying to stir up trouble or detract from their arguments (see examples on separate sheet). See if you can get them so mad they will say something outrageous that can be posted somewhere to make them look bad.
3) When they start using logic (facts) or reason (wisdom), run. It shouldn't be difficult. Like Obama -- let it go if it's difficult.
THE END
GG.... You got it
June 23, 2009 - 17:27 ET by bigtimerGG....

Doubling down on stupid is not a particularly good idea. ~Andrew Breitbart
They all sound...
June 23, 2009 - 17:33 ET by Georgia Girlthe same!
U1 - I understand your point
June 23, 2009 - 17:53 ET by needleBut there are some basic differences:
The Left refused to accept that Bush won the 2000 election, even though he did win the election, and the recount, and the re-recount (and all of the subsequent unofficial recounts by those permanently dissatisfied), and even though there was no allowance for all of the illegal voting by felons (90% Democrat) and people (read: Democrats) voting multiple times. Nor was there any allowance for the conspiracy by the media to dupe many thousands in the [mostly Republican] Florida panhandle that the polls were closed. (Oops, you don’t like the term “conspiracy” – just because it was not formally proven, or even investigated? Well, nevertheless, I say that is the best way to describe it.)
Though Bush won the election, the Left never credited him for it, but treated him like dirt and worse for his whole 8 years as President. In so doing the Left has thoroughly poisoned the political well (though so far as I can see they could not care less anyway). In short the situation they created leaves them nothing to complain about.
The Left is cool with Obama’s probably forged Birth Certificate, and his definitely forged Selective Service Registration, and all of his suppressed records for about the first twenty years of his life, but at least some people at this site smell a rat. Besides that, Obama was packaged and sold by the completely biased media to the American public as super smart, wonderful beyond compare, and essential messianic. Accordingly, many of the people who read and post at this site consider Obama a complete fraud, both literally and figuratively. So whenever Obama reveals that he has feet of clay, and the works of his hands and mouth are even shoddier (which is practically all of the time), the cause for cynicism is practically boundless, especially when all of it is completely ignored by the Degenerate Media; and as I say, the Left have nothing to complain about.
But there is another way behavior of the people at this site is different from the “far left” and what goes on at their web sites, and that is language and style. Namely, the far left who post on Leftist sites are far more vicious and vulgar than the people who post here.
Relying upon the MSM for your information is like relying upon an embezzler to manage your portfolio.

LGBT month
June 23, 2009 - 17:20 ET by ThisnThatWhy did Obama wear that tie? How about this: Obama declares June 'LGBT Pride Month'
He's willing to stand up for queers -- but not Israel, nor on-the-street Iranians. He stoped wearing an American flag lapel pin in 2007 because it has become a substitute for "true patriotism" since the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. He also didn't salute the American flag at an event with other candidates in 2007. But he takes the time, and pays attention to the details, to salute his homosexual buddies as Priority #1. This man shows his true colors each and every day.

"(2) Obama stated that healthcare is 'the primary driver of federal deficits.' This is an outright lie. In fact, in 2008, the federal government spent $600,121,000,000 on healthcare (Medicare, Medicaid). That's 20.4% of the $2.93 trillion spent last year. By contrast, the government spent $615,256,000,000--20.9%--on social security. The government spent $607,863,000,000--20.7%--on national defense."
The Bamster lying; imagine that.
