Anyone else here that can't

Anyone else here that can't stand Syracuse's Devendorf? That thug has gotta go.

he rubs me the wrong way too, and i'm a two-time alum.

su played depaul two years go in chicago, and their team wasn't much better than this year's squad that failed to win a single conference game.  early in the contest devendorf drove by hs man and scored with a left-handed layup, then lolligagged it back on defense huffing and howling and finishing with a slap of the hardwood as he assumed his spot in the su 2-3 zone.  while he was busy being overly impressed with an effort only mildly better than mediocre, a depaul player went right around him and dunked.  depaul went on to beat the orange by 30 that night, and like i said this was a team that didn't even make the nit tournament.

i've said this to many of my friends here in syracuse:  someone needs to take this kid over to kimmel dining hall and serve him a heaping helping of shut the f**k up.

He is from a town 10

He is from a town 10 miles from me ... I believe he was kicked off his highschool team in his senior year

"America is on the Short Bus to Socialism"

did not know that.

he's also referred to here by more than a few as the "motor city meathead."

Let's at least admit...

He had a couple of great shots the last 2 nights in the tournament.  That shot in the 6 ot game at the end of regulation was pretty impressive considering it was with 1.1 seconds left on the clock and had to be inbounded from the other end of the court.  That micro-second on the shot clock didn't keep it from being impressive.  Then the next day, the shot at half-time (which counted for those who didn't see it) was pretty amazing.  Does he showboat?  He sure does and a lot of fans love it.  The fans really helped in that 6 overtime game.  For those who are fans, the SU bookstore has a t-shirt dedicated to that game.  The front says "Marathon Men" and the back says..244 points   226 Minutes   6 Overtimes   2 Days  1 For The Ages  Syracuse 127  UConn 117  March 12 & 13, 2009.

It's not just that he

It's not just that he showboats. He's a thug. He almost got kicked out of school for punching someone this fall. Why did he almost get kicked out? Because he was already on probation for something else equally stupid.

He's a meathead.

I have followed college

I have followed college basketball for a lot of years but this has to be one of the craziest conference tournament seasons. Upsets, upsets, upsets.

Maryland is in as of this right now, this minute.  Should they beat DOOK today they would have beaten UNC, Wake and DOOK. They do have a big win over Michigan State. All that could change if Baylor beats Missouri and/or USC beats Arizona State.

I was projecting Florida to be in. Now I don’t know for sure. The loss to Auburn was a killer. Auburn probably needs another win to get in. They’ll have to beat LSU to do that. Kentucky for the first time in I don’t know how many years is out! That is a shame. They fired Tubbby because he couldn't win in the tournament. Now Billy Gillespie (?) can't even get them into the tournament.

I still think that my Heels and Pitt are definitely # 1 seeds. If Louisville beats ‘Cuse they could get a # 1 seed. UConn will probably fall to a 2 seed. Memphis will probably get the last 1 seed even though they play in a very weak conference. Then again according to what happens in the Big Ten Michigan State may get the other #1 seed.

At lot is going to happen between now and 6 PM tomorrow. Like in every other year there are going to be some teams that I feel are not worthy but will be in. Some that are worthy will be going to the NIT.

I have to let Blonde know that I was/am pulling for Auburn. Coach Jeff Lebo of Auburn is a former TARHEEL.

Here is a useless fact. Since 1985 the mid-major's record in the Big Dance is 30-350. I don't see any Cinderella's on the horizon for this year.

Rickster...

I am really beginning to love this time of year. I love how the speculation abouut the bubble teams changes daily, as at-large bid come and go, teams get upset, etc...

Meanwhile, the once-left-for-dead Pittsburgh Penguins are 9-1-2 since they canned their head coach and are in the thick of the playoff race, with their next 8 at home. March Madness, NHL playoffs on the horizon, one month until the NFL draft, MLB about to kick off.... Booya!

I am not too big a hockey

I am not too big a hockey fan I guess because I didn't play it growing up. It was never big around here. They play something they call hockey in Raleigh.

I am ready for the NCAA tournament. The prediction I made Tuesday still stands. Pitt-UNC in the championship game unless they have to face each other in the semis.

MLB-I don't really get that inteested until about the All-Star game. That is when it gets good..

This is for you, all you

This is for you, all you Steeler haters out there :)

I had this feeling

I just had this gut feeling all week that the Heels would not win the ACC tournament. I was right. They just lost to the cheaters from FSU. I still think they will be the #1 seed. Everybody below them has lost so far except for memphis and Louisville.

It has not been a good week so far for regular season conference champs. Michigan State just got beat by OSU.   Watch out Louisville and LSU.

yes!!!

nothing personal, but i have a reason to dislike every acc school.  they stole away boston college and virgina tech after promising the orange a spot in their formerly dominant conference, then renegged on the deal.  maybe va tech belongs there, but su and vt had a lot of great football games in the 1980's and 90's before the orange's descent to mediocrity (actually, that's an insult to all of the mediocre teams out there.  we stink.).

i always thought su and unc could make a great three sport rivalry with football, basketball and lacrosse.  the cities are far enough away for a long-distance rivalry but not too far that it's absolutely out of the question to drive there.  and now that the orange's gridders have a new coach in dave marrone, i'm optimistic.  when you're on the bottom, there's nowhere to go but up.

The reason to go after VT,

The reason to go after VT, UM and BC was to make the conference more of a football conference. I wished they would have gone after W. Virginia instead of BC. WVa would have been a bit closer and more of a geographic fit. BC and VT along with UM have become pretty good b-ball teams.
