I do, however, have the right to withold my investment from GM. Furthermore, I have the right to demean and demonize that company for sucking in Government money through the Auto Bailout and the Bank Bailout.

Sun, 01/25/2009 - 11:31 ET by slickwillie2001I see hypocrisy and sexism in the handling of Caroline Kennedy.
Why was it okay to point out what a dimwit she is, and her tax/nanny problems, and her possible philandering, yet it was never acceptable to point out the same about any of the Kennedy men? All those things are resume enhancements to democratics in general. Not a single one of them wrote their own book, Ted had to cheat to get through Harvard, and his problem with booze is off-limits just as JFK's mistresses were. RFK Jr is dumb as a bag of gravel. There's just no evidence of any brilliance there.
Or is it possible that the entire carefully crafted Kennedy image is crumbling?

She Needs Help
Sun, 01/25/2009 - 11:38 ET by LynnI know there are many grand and sweeping things that occured this week that could generate grand and sweeping comments. So mine are pretty petty.
But here goes. Someone get Michelle a dress designer. Regarding the inauguration, brocade and rhinestones for daytime wear? I don't think so. That night she looked like a pudgy teenager dressed up in her mother's bathrobe at the inaugural balls. At the prayer service the next morning all the women were dressed in tailors suits. But there was Michelle in a flowered print short sleeved dress. She looked like a tree in the rain forrest.
Michelle is tall and lovely. Someone come and help her find her look. I want to be watching when it happens.

Sun, 01/25/2009 - 13:27 ET by choselife3xShe should wear something that plays up her shoulders and arms and flows over the hips. And only warm earth tones. For the love of Obama, no shiny jewel tones.
I cringed (mentally) when I heard about the false eyelashes, who does her makeup?! She should fire whoever let that happen.
At least the press is going to be kind to her. I'm no fan of Hillary, but it always irritated me how people picked on her clothes.

Sun, 01/25/2009 - 17:37 ET by reelman46THE ROYAL CONGRESS HAS SOME GREAT BILLS ON THE TABLE THIS SPRING BUT BUT BUT
H.R. 15 creates a nationalized system of free health care.
H.R. 414, the Camera Phone Predator Alert Act, requires cameras in cell phones to make an audible sound to alert others (such as in locker rooms) when a picture is taken.
H.R. 346 repeals the automatic payraises Congress receives. A GOOD ONE!
H.R. 390 addresses “college football playoff games” while H.R. 187 says let Cubans play American baseball.
H.R. 227 states that human life begins at fertilization. A GOOD ONE!
H.R. 254 moves voting to the weekend. A GOOD ONE!
H.R. 113 requires anything funded by an earmark to be audited. Perhaps things like H.R. 202, which creates a “Museum of Ideas.”
H.R. 116 ends political “robocalls” if you are on the “Do Not Call” Registry, while Senate bill S. 30 wants there to be caller ID honesty.
H.R. 126 would limit citizenship at birth only to those who have at least one parent who is a citizen or legal resident. A GOOD ONE!
H.R. 160 would limit Social Security benefits to only legal citizens or residents. A GOOD ONE!
H.R. 155 would ban taxes on unemployment benefits for two years, while H.R. 162 bans taxes on Social Security benefits. A GOOD ONE!
H.R. 87 says “Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is,” and invites those who like to pay taxes to voluntarily pay extra taxes. Or how about just a “Fair Tax” as called for in H.R. 25.
H.R. 70 would make it a hate crime to display a noose with the intent to intimidate. And H.R. 40 explores paying reparations to African-Americans.
S. 213 would create an Airline Passenger Bill of Rights.

Just in time for Al Gore to
Sun, 01/25/2009 - 13:16 ET by ApacheJust in time for Al Gore to meet Congress, Michale Mann is back up to his old shenanigans. This time trying to convince everyone that Antarctica is warming. It had been just one of many thorns in the side of alarmists but they figured out a way to mask it. Bad statistics involving interpolation of data points where no real measurement was ever taken. They use their computer model to fill in the blanks and of course their computer model sees these blanks as warm. Then a willing press trumpets their findings with little regard for all the counter evidence and no suspicion of who brings it. I think this lame attempt will backfire big time. Most believers already thought Antarctica was warming and this proves to them the skeptics they blindly argued with were not pulling their leg. Alarmists and Skeptics know the complaints about Mann and his magic statistics and I don't think Alarmists are willing to go out on a limb for him again. When all the dust settles, Mann will be a bigger laughing stock than he already is. A more detailed article about it:

Sun, 01/25/2009 - 14:34 ET by dboJust as you stated, Mann and his buddies apparently "devised a statistical technique
that uses data from satellites and from Antarctic weather stations to
make a new estimate of temperature trends". Sure gives you a warm and fuzzy when alarmists devise a new statistical technique, doesn't it? Marc Marano has a thorough and detailed laundry list of all the shenanigans on Infoe's press blog.

Sun, 01/25/2009 - 14:49 ET by TjexciteNow that Obama is in. The hatred that was put on George Bush has now turn to the complete opposite of love for Obama. With this hate nothing that Bush could do would make anyone but his supporters like him. He could have given the same speech as Barry did on the 20th and they will still hate him. Now that Barry is in it is like someone flipped a switch, Hate to Love.
What happened to the middle. Not hate not love but like. Let hope when Barry has his first of many mistakes, if he has not already had one that did not happened because the MSM did not report it, this love comes back to reality in one massive cult withdraw or mass suicide when the leader fails. But at least no mater how bad it gets there is never any true ODS to the level of BDS.
Watching the promos for the Dixie Chicks story, the first ones to show BDS. Now if they said the same thing only two years later their career would not have suffered at all. They had BDS when it was not acceptable in public. But now it is almost a requirement for any one in public.

No divisiveness or partisan politics there. they want to reward their base, screw the rest of America. Gonna be a rough 4 yrs, at least I pray it will only be 4.

Biden: Expect More Casualties in Afghanistan
Sun, 01/25/2009 - 19:10 ET by AgentAmericanOkay, now for some hope and change you can believe in:
Vice President Biden says with violence on the rise and 30,000 more U.S. troops expected to transfer to Afghanistan,
it's inevitable that lives will be lost.

Sun, 01/25/2009 - 19:12 ET by Cool ArrowAnd I guess we're supposed to hope the Prophet Biden is successful in his prediction?
Shall we hope the Prophet Biden has successfully predicted a crisis of international proportions?
Aren't we supposed to hope this administration succeeds?

Sun, 01/25/2009 - 19:19 ET by BlazerCool I've been perusing the liberal side of the web looking for equivocation and now it seem's it's totally allright to send troop's into harm's way anywhere around the world as long as they have the highest quality equipment...........and it's a Democrat doing the sending.
Color me shocked.

And of course since this is now a Dem administration that is in no way chicken-hawkerish.

How could we have gone from Condi to this. . .

She's such a delicate little flower, isn't she?
IMO, Condi was the epitome of class, grace and professionalism. Despite liberals and the MSM's attempt to paint Condi as a sellout, uncle tom, incompetant or Bush's lap dog, she maintained her dignity and I've never heard her utter a cross word throughout her tenure.
If black people want a role model, they need look no further. Young black girls, or young American girls period, should look up to her. She grew up in Alabama, where she had to endure harsh racism, she's multi-lingual and she's an accomplished pianist.
BTW, did you know she was a democrat until 1982? She didn't agree with Carter's foreign policy and switched to republican. Her father also switched in 1952. During Jim Crow, the dems refused to allow her father to register as a dem. The repubs did. How's that for unity, huh? I thought the Dems were the uniters and the Repubs were the racists.

Alcatraz Prison
Mon, 01/26/2009 - 21:09 ET by doug1950Heard tonight Richard Boenier floated the idea of reopening Alcatraz to house the Gitmo prisoners. Madam Speaker was not too keen on the idea but I am beginning to warm up to it a lot. It is the perfect spot to house these guys as you have to swim to get off the island and you never see any olympic swimmers from Iran, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, etc. It is cold, dank, small ugly cellsl. I think he did it to make a point and to show the hypocracy of the Dems particularly Pelosi as it is in her district.

Tue, 01/27/2009 - 10:07 ET by BDThe real reason Pelosi is against it is that her tie-dyed liberal constituency will begin storming Alcatraz to pet the detainees.
And that would finally break the proverbial camels back with John Q. Public.
