John Kerry declared Global Warming a National Security Issue
Tue, 01/13/2009 - 11:05 ET by PopularTechI just watched the senate hearings for Hitlery and Kerry went into a rant about global warming being a national security issue - God help us all.

Tue, 01/13/2009 - 12:20 ET by AgnosticNot really trying for a correction but I had read the following from an old article today and I couldn't help but think that the only reason 'rising super powers' would look to the US is to see what else they can get. Too much news get me cynical.
http://www.worldpoliticsreview.com/article.aspx?id=2968
"The world has not always managed such global power transitions well. In this case, however, the existence of nuclear weapons and the lack of colonial aspirations among many rising countries could help deter the kind of foreign policy adventurism among competing great powers that yielded two world wars in the 20th century. Conversely, the lack of a unifying ideology, the anticipated inward focus, and the limited shared interests of the rising great powers will hinder the formation of an international bloc independent of the West.
Ironically, the authors project that demand for American leadership should remain strong and perhaps even rise as nations look to Washington to balance threatening great powers, curb terrorism and WMD proliferation, and lead efforts to manage global problems like climate change -- even as U.S. global capabilities decline."

Obama should remind them that they can't burn any more coal because it might cause them (and us) to warm up a little. Yep, shallow minds can't think deep thoughts. Go Obama. Go Gore! Tue, 01/13/2009 - 11:19 ET by thebutlerdiditExcellent idea. I do think there won't be too much fuss over it, though. I think the idea is to say, screw it, let Obama and the Dems figure it out, they have it all now, so we are going to let them figure it out by themselves. I do hope they at least protest it, but I feel certain they will lose this arguement, quickly.

Obama and Liberal 'Cognitive Dissonance'
Tue, 01/13/2009 - 11:42 ET by Retired GeekCognitive dissonance occurs when someone tries to hold two diametrically opposed views as reality.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Obama want us to buy American made cars to save the Autoworkers Union.
Obama doesn't want us to drive those cars so the planet can be saved.
Obama wants to spend money on bridges and highways that he doesn't want us to drive those cars on.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Obama doesn't want a 'Secretive Intelligence Agency', so he wants a Congress who has a 9% approval rating to know everything Panetta is doing. You know people like Maxine Waters can keep secrets.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Obama doesn't want little darlings like Islamic Terrorists to suffer any discomfort - Obama wants little defenseless babies denied any aid or medication if they have the Audacity to survive an abortion.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Obama wants to punish excellence and reward failure, by transferring money from those who make good decisions to those who make bad decisions, all for the 'Common Good'.

Tue, 01/13/2009 - 15:49 ET by JIMMY1660as we move forward, looking for economic traction, its time ti identify who was in deed responsible. As i watch MSM report GWB is responsible for all that is wrong with our economy. its time for congressional hearings, with Barney Frank, Chris Dodd and Frank Raine's to explain what went wrong. its time for the truth to surface.
point two for debate: who is qualified to be a Senator or Congressman. during the good times i could be in office, however when things are running amuck, are these folks at the helm qualified to govern and lead us back to stability. I think not.
as with doctors /lawyers being a Senator/Congressman is not popularity contest, we need the super qualified.

Tue, 01/13/2009 - 16:17 ET by billbTime for all you "community organizers" out there. Every day the drumbeat increases warning us of the impending Public Pension Crisis. We all have suffered during this economic collapse. Not so for public workers. Their life style continues unchanged on the backs of the taxpayers. At a time like this ALL things change. Ira's,CD's, all types of savings go down in value. Obama says, "Everyone has to give" Your local government uses the excuse that they are bound by a contract. That's BS! Now for what we can do.Many of us pay our real estate taxes to our mortgage company. Change that and pay it yourself. Organize enough homeowners in your town to refuse to pay any tax increase this year. This would only work if enough people cooperate. If only a few people do this they will be prosecuted and the rest of us should stop complaining! Your local government would have a hard time staying out of the news if 100 homeowners stuck together on this.

I believe it has to do with the plot uncovered by the FBI. They found that keyboards made by the POS computer mfg. co. in China, distributed through the Libsrdum co. in the People's Republic of Berkeley are programmed to revolt on Jan 13. Initial simptoms are double posts and missperling of wurds.

His choice for Treasury Sect didn't pay his taxes. He has been in debt to the IRS for years. Also, he had a domestic servant that was not properly documented.
He is qualified to be US Secretary of the Treasury, but he cannot pay his taxes and he doesn't know his help is an illegal alien.
I feel better.

My Hometown School
Tue, 01/13/2009 - 20:23 ET by patriotmomThis story hits so close to home....this is my home town school - hence my screenname "patriotmom" comes from the Pace High School Patriots....This is an outrage in our small community. Both of my girls graduated from this wonderful - Florida Grade A - school in the past three years. Most of these complaints are unfounded. There are several Christian clubs that meet before or after school hours and they used these clubs as an example of teachers "preaching". There is never an event where a teacher has lead the prayer and there was no prayer at the football games. The few prayers were limited to graduation and to baccalauerate(sp) which is a religious service itself. The complaint was also about using a local large church for school events. This is a small community and the school has no auditorium. The local church offers up their 2000 seat sancturary for awards nights and such. There were not prayers at any of these events. I am so upset, we have such a good school with great teachers and parents and two unnamed children can turn everything upside down.
ACLU
Tue, 01/13/2009 - 20:33 ET by patriotmomJust to add one more item to my rant above....The ACLU tried a few years ago to stop the school from offering a voluntary elective Bible class. The class did not teach any religion but was basically a study of the bible in a history context. The teacher was prepared and had all the study guides and lesson syllabus ready for them and they failed to get the class stopped. The ACLU has had it in for the school since they they failed and now they have finally succeeded in finding a judge that will single out the school. A local newscaster in the area made this observation this morning, he said you can have a prayer at a presidential inaguation with millions watching but heaven forbid if you have a student lead prayer at a high school graduation where there may be 3000 people.

patriotmom... My heart
Tue, 01/13/2009 - 20:40 ET by bigtimerpatriotmom...
My heart goes out to you...to all of us all over this country to what is being done by a handful of people in these schools, or communities depending on the lawsuit/subject...they know they have the powerful ACLU that we tax-payers end up paying also via congress, (I used to have a link about that, may still) anyway, like I said above it is truly beyond maddening, I cannot really post my anger or outrage here without being banned.
Just wanted to let you know...my blood boils when the enemy wins...again.
Who would have ever thought years/decades ago these lawsuits, from a cross, a nativity scene, the Constitution, prayers at a game or graduation, Christmas Carols ect would ever be something we would EVER have to worry about in the country, and of course the very words Merry Christmas.
The devil at work...period.
Just my two cents.

Thank you bigtimer
Tue, 01/13/2009 - 20:49 ET by patriotmomI appreciate your kind words. I too am very concerned about our country and the direction in which we are headed. My children have moved on to a large college and are ready to face the liberalism that hits them in the face everyday. If nothing else, this event has caused many students that probably didn't think much about the prayers before to think about them now. Many of them are upset and maybe this will spurn them to grow up and be activists for the cause....Maybe some good will come out of this... Thanks again

I weep at times from what I hav seen in my lifetime, and so far, it is on a fast-track now.
I pray I am wrong.
