Our first offering comes from NBer R D Helm:
Next up is an audio link available here courtesy NBer Begrunt.
A little British humour from NBer motherbelt:
This comes from Mean Gene Dr. Love:
This submission by NB reader Nathan Widmyer is subtle in its approach, but really delicious:
A classic Carson moment-- the Ed Ames tomahawk throw (thanks JMJ)
Frog Island doing the 3 Stooges (thanks babreu)
Will Chuck Norris blend? (Thanks Mizflame98)
Reminder to folks submitting ideas: don't forget to include links! Descriptions of ensuing hilarity by themselves don't do much. :-)

RD Helm's video
January 4, 2009 - 01:13 ET by Scout FinchBrought back great memories of watching Benny Hill late at night with my brothers (the sax music). Channel 50 in Detroit also featured an hour of the Three Stooges and topped the night off with Canada's SCTV, with the late great John Candy. I'm probably one of the few girls in the world who really crack up over the Three Stooges. Curly was funny, but Shemp was comic genius.
(btw: That minivan was way too new to belong to illegals. They needed an '84 Dodge minivan with the fake wood sides. In maroon or teal, with duct tape around the windows and "La Raza" bumper stickers!)

January 4, 2009 - 01:21 ET by SvenScout,
I grew up in a suburb of Detroit also and remember this well. Good grief, can you believe all we had back then were Channels: (4) WDIV, (7) WXYZ, (2)WJBK and of course (50)WKBD?
How times have changed!
Those were great times, Sven
January 4, 2009 - 01:27 ET by Scout FinchI didn't mention "Prisoner Cell Block H". My brothers enjoyed that one, not me (cute blond Aussie girls in prison). Remember the UHF box you had to have in order to even watch Ch. 50 (and Ch.'s 20, 56, and 62)? Best of all was Ron Swede as The Ghoul. My brothers and I sat through so many terrible, cheap horror movies just to hear The Ghoul's hilarious spoofs and overdubs during the movies. Hey, Overday!!!
Scout, LOL!!! I remember
January 4, 2009 - 01:36 ET by SvenScout,
LOL!!! I remember indeed! If memory serves, this was about 1977-79?
The Ghoul was great! We used to laugh ourselves silly listening to his spoofs in these horrible flicks!
Other Detroit notables:
-Sir Graves
-Bill Bonds
-Big Time Wrestling
Cheers!
You're on target, Sven
January 4, 2009 - 01:47 ET by Scout FinchRemember the afternoon Prize Movie with Rita Bell? Lou Gordon? George Perrot's travel TV shows when the camera would show him fast asleep? Bob Allison's "Bowling For Dollars"? Are you old enough to remember Robin Seymour's "Swingin' Time" on Channel 9 out of Windsor? Way better than Dick Clark's American Bandstand. "Swingin' Time" featured the best of local Motown acts every day. I'm FHS class of '78.
That's what's missing in today's TV. Local TV. Detroit was rich with great local TV back in the 60's and 70's.
......sigh.........
Cheers to you, too

January 4, 2009 - 01:53 ET by SvenScout,
I remember all of these except Robin Seymour.
Yes indeed...great times!
You must remember "The Big 8"

Thank you so much, Sven
January 4, 2009 - 02:08 ET by Scout FinchHearing those CKLW jingles and bits is like listening to my late mother's voice. It's a permanent part of my childhood. Wow...
We were blessed.
Scout, Is this Ferndale
January 4, 2009 - 02:10 ET by SvenScout,
Is this Ferndale High?
I graduated from Berkley High ('84). I used to work at an Optical Lab on Lewiston and 9 Mile.
If it is Ferndale...what a small world!
Cheers!
No
January 4, 2009 - 02:20 ET by Scout FinchI graduated from Fraser High School in 1978. But I knew kids from all over from the many jobs I held. My husband worked for many years at Lamb Technicon, which was located at 9 Mile and Mound roads.
Sure sucks being in middle management in the automotive industry today. You never know what day is your last. Too many in Michigan can relate.
Cheers anyway, Sven. I loved growing up in Detroit. My parents and relatives grew up on the east side of Detroit city proper. Wouldn't change that for anything. I love this city. I love this state. But I'm sure worried about it's future.
I haven't lived there since
January 4, 2009 - 02:28 ET by SvenI haven't lived there since 1985, but my family still does. While they're not in the auto industry, it's still affecting them indirectly. My brother was just telling me of how many stores were closing. Truly sad.
We'll be praying that Michigan recovers from the damage that the Unions and the Dems have done to this great state :-(
God Bless <(((><

Mind blowing YouTube, motherbelt!
January 4, 2009 - 01:21 ET by Scout FinchIt's a complete treatise on the educational system of today, right here in America. Where did you find this gem?

January 4, 2009 - 01:32 ET by SvenMotherbelt,
Two observations about your outstanding (hilarious!!!) Brtish video:
1) This should be mandatory viewing for ALL GOP Senators and Congress members!!
and...
2) Great comedy really does contain much truth!
Thanks for the laughs...great post!

January 4, 2009 - 09:08 ET by thebutlerdiditI'm a little late on this thread, the flu is making me sleep weird hours. I have just one question, am I the only one who thought that the Will It Blend guy looked like a slightly older version of Keith Olbermann???? Or is it the Nyquil talking?
LMAO!
January 4, 2009 - 10:05 ET by mizflame98He seems a lot nicer than Olbermouse.

Seriously though, I thought at first it was KO until I turned the volume up, after all, he has gotten grayer and put on some weight lately. And with such a big audience, who knows? Maybe he will be doing things just like this soon.
