For general discussion and debate. Possible talking point: the polls are tightening.

Gallup calls it Obama by two. Rasmussen says Obama by three.

Do we have a horse race, ladies and gentlemen? If so, what's responsible for McCain's surge? Is it Joe the Plumber, and all the information concerning Obama's socialist, redistribution of wealth ideas? Or is something else in play?

You woudn't know this listening to the Obama pundits, one on Fox News, just called him more Mature then McCain. A Green candidate with 143 days in the Senate is more Mature then a Military Veteran, that has served his country "loyally"

The arugument is that Obama, has ran his campaign so well, then he could run the country? I don't think he is running his campaign. The Media is really reaching but why?

Polls?

I think the 'tightening' of the polls is really more of an 'adjustment' to their calculations. This race was always close, and it will come down to Voter Turn out. The MSM just wanted McCain supporters to think it was already pre-determined and Not vote.

http://www.withbias.net

Couldn't that work both

Couldn't that work both ways?

Couldn't that work both

Couldn't that work both ways - and if the MSM was honest it might.  But if you have been paying attention Mr. Spicoli then it would be obvious to even the most casual observer the MSM has been cooking the numbers in Obama's favor for some time.

Nuke em til they glow then shoot em in the dark.

What I meant was that if

What I meant was that if Obama supporters think the race is won already, then they may also stay away from the polls.

candidates don't run their own campaign...

THAT is why they have advisers, managers, etc.

I'd like to see how he personally, I mean himself, over-saw every aspect of his campaign. That's like a Hollywoody celibrity managing their OWN contracts and affairs. It just don't happen. "Have your people call my people".

Again, what has HE personally managed??  BY himself?

I just heard on Fox news

I just heard on Fox news that the Obama camp is trying to tie McCain with Khalidi also.??????????

I heard that. It's as big a

I heard that. It's as big a joke as the Palin wardrobe.

Exactly!

I'm surprised the Obama surrogates haven't just screwed themselves all the way to China with their incessant spin.

Asked a question, any question, about Obama......and every single one of them  begins with "McCain......."

It makes me want to scream!

It's a fact.  And a great example of the right wingnutz not doing their homework prior to trying to manufacture something at the last minute.

Kind of like selecting Gov. Palin as the Vice Presidential candidate, isn't it?  Those 3 electoral votes from Alaska are really going to make the difference next week, aren't they?

J.Frank - Question . . how many electorial votes in Delaware ?

3 for Joe Biden

Ooooooh, SHACK! What is

Ooooooh, SHACK!

What is left of J Frank is a smoking hole.

Could you try any harder to

Could you try any harder to be an idiot?

Au contraire J Frank

As I understand it:  McCain chaired a group that promoted democracy and freedom around the world, and Khaliti was involved in an organization that promoted scholarships for issues related to Palestine.  McCain's "International Republican Institute" gave the group Khalidi was involved in "Center for Palestine Research and Studies" funds to promote democratic political institutions.  [This had nothing to do with Khalidi's anti Israel/PLO views.  The funds were given (as I said before) to promote democracy to help the people of Palestine.]

McCain didn't go to his house for many dinners, befriend him, work w/him, admired him, have conversations w/ him that challenged his thinking as Obama did.

BTW - Nothing about this was manufactured.

BTW again - I think Palin will help bring in a lot more than 3 electoral votes.

For instance, my vote.

For instance, my vote.  Palin is far more worthy of a vote than McCain, Obama, or Biden.

She is the reason I am off the sidelines.

They would not hold back to defend national security...

Ref the "Pally" Khalidi, the LA TImes is attempting to hold the recording off from the rest of the press for idealogical reasons.  Much like the Abu Ghraib video tape, the information was released to the press long before it became a crisis since none of them deemed it an interesting story.  That is UNTIL THERE WERE PHOTOS!

The LA Times realizes that actually listening to Obama glorify terrorist toady Khalidi on video or audio will have the likelihood of actually "Sinking the hook" to the story.

That is why the LA Times is holding back.  They would not hold back to defend national security, but will gladly defend Obamas razor thin lead in the polls.

IF

IF this miracle were to happen, all accusations aside about mixing government and religion, it is for 2 reasons:

1. The prayers of Christian groups all over this nation.

2. Enough serious and intelligent people finally waking up and deciding that this man scares them to death and that they have decided to disallow America being converted into a  Communist/Marxist/Black Liberation Theology Police State.

I care not how radical that statement appears to some people. To quote one whom I admired; Extremism for the sake of liberty, is not extreme (or something to that effect). Thanks Senator Goldwater, its been so long that I and everyone else probably forget the exact quote but we got the gist.

For us

...the political junkie class, nothing has changed.  We've known Obama to be an uber-liberal and socialist since before the Iowa caucuses.

But for Mr. & Mrs. America, I think they have finally twigged to the fact that the Obama message is so tight, so rehearsed, and so unified (every Obama surrogate spouts and spins in exactly the same way) that there is something just not right.

In other words, Obama's campaign and message just doesn't pass the smell test.   Joe the Plumber clearly pointed this out, and the rabid media counter-assault on a mere citizen for exercising his free speech rights has awakened the non-political class to the real dangers of an Obama presidency.

Joe the Plumber for Ambassador to Great Britain (Oprah was a bone-headed move, too, but that is a story for another day).

A friend of mine and former county commissioner really got the Dems panties in a wad at one polling place here in Craven County, NC yesterday. which they should if it's tightening up nationally.

Keep your eyes on OH and VA (and maybe even PA).  If those get close, then, yeah, it's most defninitely going to be a horse race.

And MO, which has called the race in all but one election during the past 100 years, is definitely trending towards McCain (currently a dead heat).

You are right

Polls tend to lag actual intent and state polls do lag national polls.

You also have the factor of some polls with built-in sampling biases that will always favor Obama.

If the stock market keeps steady or tracks up, the McCain has a chance to pull this out.

However, don't be surprised by last minute Soros manipulation to upset the market just before the election as he did in September..

GNY, I am also adding in the "fibb factor."

I still contend that at least 4% of respondents are lying to the pollsters about their support for Obama.

Personally, I hope the actual percentage is much, much higher.

A shift in national sentiment doesn't mean much unless the battleground states have tightened. All Obama has to do is win OH and PA by even the smallest margin.

I am still not optimistic.

Change is what you're left with when you've spent all your dollars.

candance:

Your point is very well taken.  There isn't one election on November 4th - there's going to be 51.  A perceived "tighening" in the national numbers is meaningless a week out - it's the state by state polls that matter.

For the past few months the folks at Five Thirty Eight have been visiting Obama and McCain campaign headquarters around the country.  Time after time they find the Obama places full of volunteers, phones all in use with more people waiting, stacks of clipboards showing completed walks - and the McCain headquarters are, to be kind, moribund.

A politicial campaign builds over months and months.  One can not jump in the last few weeks - or, in this case, the last few days - and just crank it up.  Sen. McCain has not actually been that active on the campaign trail up until quite recently.  He has simply not been able to inspire people to get out and work for him - let alone contribute to the RNC.

Our economy is in a shambles; we have two very unpopular wars; we have a President with an approval rating lower than President Nixon's on the day he resigned - how can the Republican party expect to prevail in such a climate?  The Wall Street Journal called it a year ago - the pending housing collapse would doom the Republicans' chances.  And it turned out to be much more than simply the house(s) of cards...

A perceived "tighening" in

A perceived "tighening" in the national numbers is meaningless a week out - it's the state by state polls that matter.

Obviously ignorant of polling and market research. Polls always lag actual intent and action. That is a fact. It is also a fact that national polls lead state polls. So what you are seeing today in state polling data is already old news and you have to look at trend lines among traditional likely voters.

One can not jump in the last few weeks - or, in this case, the last few days - and just crank it up.

You are also ignorant of political campaigns and how they work historically. Something can happen even int he last two days and swing an election.

Our economy is in a shambles;

Thanks to democrats like Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, Barney Frank, Chueck Schumer, Chris Dodd and their allies at Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and ACORN. Thanks you for this mortgage crisis. You are also ignorant of basic economics when it comes to recessions.

we have two very unpopular wars;

So you believe that we should not have gone into Afghanistan either after 9/11?

we have a President with an approval rating lower than President Nixon's on the day he resigned

. . .  but not nearly as low as Pelotis and Reid.

I would agree that if Hillary got the nomination that this may not have been much of a contest. But it is during the last 2 weeks when people wake up and say about Obama, "who the hell is this guy?" They are finding out that he is not who he has claimed to be during the campaign. He is an unequipped (Sarkozy called his Iran policy "immature") anti-Israel economic socialist who would be very dangerous for the U.S. and the world.

Gat New York:

OK - show us John McCain's road to victory.  Where does he get his 270?

We never should have gone into Iraq.  I said Afghanistan is an unpopular war - because it has also been mismanaged from the start.  We should have taken up our international friends when they offered us help, gone in there with a true international united effort and enough resources, and stayed to finish the job.

You can make up stories all you want about how the economy got to where it is today.  The fact is that people vote their wallets and purses.  Today most of those are empty and there is no reason to trust that the Republicans will suddenly discover that if you want to spend money like a drunken sailor you'd better have a paycheck to cover it.  Why did Sen. John Kerry vote for before he voted against the $87 Billion - and President Bush promised to veto that bill?  Because the Republicans didn't see any reason to come up with a way to fund the war in Iraq.

Speaking of defense spending.  John McCain sponsored legislation to cut off funding for US military on active duty, serving in the field.  Is that ok with you?

How exactly has Afghanistan been mismanaged from the start? And on what basis do you make that? What military expertise do you have to judge whether a war is being won or lost? We did have international friends in both Afghanistan and also in Iraq. If you count France then you'll never fight a war. In the first gulf war all they would provide is two fighter jets.

most of those are empty

If most of those wallets are empty then we would be a depression worse than the one in the 1930's - unemployment would be about 15% - and the stock market would still be declining.

This economic problem was a mortgage problem and a credit crunch. You might want to read business sections and understand how the world works - not the Daily Kos.

"We should have taken up

"We should have taken up our international friends when they offered us help, gone in there with a true international united effort and enough resources, and stayed to finish the job."

Why? Afghanistan never attacked the US. There were no Afghans in the 9/11 attack.

Why do you not only support an "illegal" war, you actually want to expand it to "get the job done?" What job?

Surely you are not suggesting that thousands of lives should be risked to kill one man?

And worst still, you want to rope in allies, and by the sound of it, expand it to the nuclear armed Pakistan.

Though I would be interested to hear which "international friends" the US rejected to help in combat roles in Operation Enduring Freeedom in 2001? Who stepped up, and why did the US not accept.

By the way, current non-American combat deaths in Afghanistan include 121 British troops. Last time I checked, they were "international friends" to the US.

I have asked you before to list what you think is the Strategic Center of Gravity for the GWOT.  You have never listed it, yet are fairly certain tht it does not contain anything remotely oriented on Iraq.  So, By all means, PLEASE LIST THE CENTER OF GRAVITY.

We should have taken up our international friends when they offered us help, gone in there with a true international united effort and enough resources, and stayed to finish the job.

Please list the dates and times we turned down assistance from other nations in Afghanistan.  In fact, President Bush was remarkably successful in gathering support for operations there, undoubtedly much more successful than Barack O would have been due to his lack of credibility in defense issues.

Please, tell me what Barack O is going to say to the PM of Germany that will get them to transfer from placid norhtern Afghanistan to the southern region and actually begin doing combat patrols in the Tribal areas?  Actually take losses in this war?  You can't, because the real answer is that Germany wants the street cred of fighting terrorism, but is not willing to stand on the street long enough to get it.

Speaking of defense spending.  John McCain sponsored legislation to cut off funding for US military on active duty, serving in the field.

Obama's economic plan explained

Got this e-mail from a friend that explains Obama's economic plan in simple terms that even a democrat could understand it:

Suppose that every day, ten men go out for beer and the bill for all ten
comes to $100. If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, it
would go something like this:

The first four men (the poorest) would pay nothing.
The fifth would pay $1.
The sixth would pay $3.
The seventh would pay $7.
The eighth would pay $12.
The ninth would pay $18.
The tenth man (the richest) would pay $59.

So, that's what they decided to do.

The ten men drank in the bar every day and seemed quite happy with the
arrangement, until on day, the owner threw them a curve. "Since you are
all such good customers," he said, "I'm going to reduce the cost of your
daily beer by $20. Drinks for the ten now cost just $80."

The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes so the
first four men were unaffected. They would still drink for free. But
what about the other six men - the paying customers? How could they
divide the $20 windfall so that everyone would get his 'fair share?'
They realized that $20 divided by six is $3.33. But if they subtracted
that from everybody's share, then the fifth man and the sixth man would
each end up being paid to drink his beer. So, the bar owner suggested
that it would be fair to reduce each man's bill by roughly the same
amount, and he proceeded to work out the amounts each should pay.

And so:

The fifth man, like the first four, now paid nothing (100% savings).
The sixth now paid $2 instead of $3 (33% savings).
The seventh now pay $5 instead of $7 (28% savings).
The eighth now paid $9 instead of $12 (25% savings).
The ninth now paid $14 instead of $18 (22% savings).
The tenth now paid $49 instead of $59 (16% savings).

Each of the six was better off than before. And the first four continued
to drink for free. But once outside the restaurant, the men began to
compare their savings.

"I only got a dollar out of the $20," declared the sixth man. He pointed
to the tenth man, "but he got $10!"

"Yeah, that's right," exclaimed the fifth man. "I only saved a dollar,
too. It's unfair that he got ten times more than I!"

" That's true!!" shouted the seventh man. "Why should he get $10 back
when I got only two? The wealthy get all the breaks!"

"Wait a minute," yelled the first four men in unison. "We didn't get
anything at all. The system exploits the poor!"

The nine men surrounded the tenth and beat him up.

The next night the tenth man didn't show up for drinks, so the nine sat
down and had beers without him. But when it came time to pay the bill,
they discovered something important. They didn't have enough money
between all of them for even half of the bill!

And that, boys and girls, journalists and college professors, is how our
tax system works. The people who pay the highest taxes get the most
benefit from a tax reduction. Tax them too much, attack them for being
wealthy, and they just may not show up an ymore. In fact, they might
start drinking overseas where the atmosphere is somewhat friendlier.

This is the barstool version of Barack Obama's tax plan

David R. Kamerschen, Ph.D.
Professor of Economics
University of Georgia

Very good.

   Very good indeed.

Suppose that every day, ten

Suppose that every day, ten men go out for beer and they order 10 glasses of beer (or 120 ounces of beer). If they split up the beer the way that wealth is distributed in the U.S.A, it would go something like this:

The first five men (the poorest) would get a sip of beer each or 0.672 ounces.

The next four men would get a small glass of beer each or 8.22 ounces.

The tenth man (the richest) would get 7 glasses of beer or 83.76 ounces.

The ten men went to the bar every day and the tenth man seemed quite happy with the arrangement, until one day, the owner threw them a curve. "Inflationary pressures are rising," he said, "I'm going to reduce the amount of your daily beer by 20 ounces. You will now receive 10 glasses of 10-ounces each, or 100 ounces total." The group still wanted to split up the beer the way that wealth is distributed in the U.S.A. How could they divide the loss of 20 ounces of beer so that everyone would lose his 'fair share?' They realized that 20 ounces divided by ten is 2 ounces. But if they subtracted that from everybody's share, then the first five men would have to pay the bartender 1.328 ounces of beer each. So, they decided to only take 0.672 ounces of beer from each of the first 5 men and take the remaining 16.64 ounces from the remaining 5 men. Each of the first five men would give up the sip of beer (0.672 ounces) that they received (a loss of 100%). Each of the sixth, seventh, eighth, and ninth men would give up 1.17 ounces each (a loss of 14.2%). The tenth man would give up 11.95 ounces of beer (or a loss of 14.2%). The result:

Each of the first five men would receive no beer.

Each of the next four men would receive 7.05 ounces.

The tenth man would receive 71.81 ounces of beer.

Each of the first five was worse off than before, having lost all of their beer. The next 4 were worse off, since they no longer received a full 8-ounce glass of beer. The tenth man still received 71.81 ounces (~ a six-pack), and was still happy.

But once outside the restaurant, the men began to compare their losses. The first five men said, "We lost a sip of beer each. We don't get beer any more." "Well, we lost more than a quarter of our beer" said the next four men "It's unfair that you only lost a sip of beer. We lost twice as much as each of you did." "Wait a minute!" yelled the tenth man. "I gave up a whole glass of beer! I gave up more than all of you combined!!! The poor get all the breaks! First, they get free beer, and then they complain when they lose their free beer! The middle class are always whining about everything because they're too dumb to get as much beer as I do."

The tenth man called security, and the first 5 men were told to leave the premises, since they could not afford to pay for any beer. The next 4 men stood silently watching, not wanting to risk the loss of any of their remaining beer. The tenth man got into his chaufferred limo and went home.

The next night the first five men didn't show up for drinks, so the remaining five sat down to have beers without them. But, they discovered something important. The first five men didn't show up to:

harvest the grain and hopps to make the beer, drive the trucks to bring the beer to the bar, clean the beer glasses and sweep the floor of the bar, serve the beer and, most importantly, work as the security guards to protect the tenth man and his beer

And that, boys and girls, journalists and college professors, wingnuts and supply-siders, big-c and little-c conservatives, is how wealth is distributed in the U.S.A. The people who have the most money get the most beer. Take too much "beer" from the poorest people, belittle them for being poor, and they just may not show up anymore to make and serve your beer.

You forgot something:

Imports.

So while the five whiners go on strike and get more hungry and stone cold sober, the tenth man drinks a Guiness.  Or Corona.  Or Heineken.  That evil rich man always gets his drink on!

Besides, inflation is a percentage.  If inflation goes up 10%, everyone's spending capacity is basically reduced by 10%.

The first five men would have 0.0672 oz less, then next four would have 0.822 oz less, and the tenth man would have 8.376 oz less, thus making 12 fewer ounces of beer to go around (10% less, 108 oz)

The first five still pass the breathalizer, the next four would still get a slight buzz if they didn't eat or drink anything all day, and tenth man would still have the same chances of liver damage.

The "poor" people, no matter how poor, still seem to find money for cigarettes, beer, and lottery tickets.  The "poor" in America are few and far between.

another point

One could also argue that "we the people" decide how wealth is distributed based on our purchasing decisions.  It is a freedom we all enjoy.  When we all make our personal decisions on our buying choices, it sets the priorities of our economy enabling the high productivity our country enjoys.  The flip side is those who are willing to provide for society's pressing needs are paid a premium.

Precisely!

Distributing the wealth is based on our purchasing decisions.

My friend Gary Hall posted this little gem on Mark's Scarborough thread...but it so aptly points out what freedom regarding purchasing decisions is really all about:

The redistribution of wealth plan may take a while

Yesterday on my way to lunch at Olive Garden,  I passed one of the homeless guys in that area, with a sign that read "Vote Obama! I need the money!."

Once in Olive Garden my waiter had on a "Obama 08" tee shirt.

When the bill came, I decided not to tip the waiter and explained to him while he had given me exceptional service, that his tee shirt made me feel he obviously believes in Senator Obama's plan to redistribute the wealth. I told him I was going to redistribute his tip to someone that I deemed more in need--the homeless guy outside. He stood there in disbelief and angrily stormed away.

I went outside, gave the homeless guy $5 and told him to thank the waiter inside, as I had decided he could use the money more. The homeless guy looked at me in disbelief but seemed grateful.

As I got in my truck, I realized this rather unscientific redistribution experiment had left the homeless guy quite happy for the money he did not earn, but the waiter was ticked that I gave away the money he did earn.

Sorry for lifting this, Gar....but it was just too good!

Hey zip, You do know that

Hey zip,

You do know that there is a spot on your tax form where you can send in more money if you like.

It does seem like you are worried about the people that makeless then you do, so I think that it would be nice if you gave your paycheck to them. What do you think, hey, you do want to see them get that beer, and obviously you don’t need any more.

If you are so worried about the even distribution of wealth, Cuba is nice this time of year, the health care is well.. tops, according to Moore, but maybe you should take your own food because they are rationing that, but hey, don’t worry every one makes the same thing, nothing.

What's happening? Here's my take...

Bradley effect - 3-5%

MSM bias - up to 5%

Solid blue states (15%) are safe for Obama. Obama leaning states fall to McCain. That puts McCain up 279-259 Actually battleground states are NH, PA, MN, WI, IA as they are most vulnerable.

In the popular vote, 120 million likely voters. BO comes in second 52%-48%.

Another variable - if Osama bin Laden endorses Obama, it could be a 400 electoral for McCain and 10 million popular vote spread.

I will be blogging on this later in the week. 6 days and we'll see how close (or far) I was!

At this point so close to the final seconds on the clock, I am still ammazed at all the steering of the news by the MSM. I have the feeling sometimes, I am old fashinoned in my thinking and the world passed me by, leaving me all alone out here. How many other people are left feeling that way? Growing up during WWII, and the Korean War, and joing the Military for 4 years not long after Korea, I see the values our country was formed on, being completely turned around, and aided in a large part by the so called Free Press (MSM). I can't even imagine a situation like"Joe the plumber" coming out in the past, where an average Joe, is smeared by the press, for asking an innocent question to a Presidential candidate in his neighborhood. Fortunately, we can come on a site like this, and tell the truth as we see it, and vent our true feelings!

Where do they do the polls?

I sometimes wonder where and how they do the polls. Personally I do not know anyone who has been asked any poll question and all of them agree with me we would lie about what we would do just to mess with them. I always envision  the reporters yelling across their desk to others in the news room I am doing a poll who would not vote for obama? And calling that a unbiased poll.

Or other news I have not seen anything here about where they have found the people who violated Joe the plumbers privacy and looked into his records. I do not expect to see it in the fan papers.. err excuse me the newspapers but thought it would be on here by now.

I saw something similar once, only it was an old land yacht (big caddie).....doing about a hundred and ten, accelerated through a light, then big screeching of brakes.  Airborne land yacht, decapitated a K-Mart sign about eight feet up.  The drunk only lost his front teeth, amazingly enough.

Khalidi Tape Musings

Could it be the LA Times doesn't want to release the Khalidi tape, NOT because it's video evidence Obama is at minimum sympathetic to this Palestinian thug, but rather because it shows the OTHER interactions at the party.

Could there be a lot of hob-nobbing between BHO, Ayers and Dohrn?  Could the audio in the background be picked up?  Who else is in attendance?

The Times obviously can't dispute the existance of the video because they wrote about it.  Methinks it's the ancillary stuf that packs the biggest wallop.

Hoax

For some reason I think that one of the largest hoaxes in the history of the world has been perpertrated on the American public....so I'm going Lone-Ranger on this one and say McCain will easily and hands-down win this election. I base this on all the blogs, reader's comments, straw polls, election experience, gut feeling and total distrust of MSM and their polls.

Polls of 1,000 voters with up to 80% hang up rate when called ?

You would need the Mathematicians from the Global warming Computer model to predict this ONE.

well well

It looks like the "vetting" of Joe the Plumber wasn't so innocent after all. Government employees in Ohio are being charged with unethical snooping into his personal business. Will Obama denounce this and ask his minions to stop using information obtained illegally? Don't count on it.

Guess the lib spin:

A) Joe the Plumber had it coming.

B) The PD is going on a witch hunt to embarrass Dems.

C) Bush sucks so I don't care.

Change is what you're left with when you've spent all your dollars.

MASH episode

I saw an old MASH episode recently where the liberal doctors were all in a tizzy about some visiting officer having bought a korean woman from her family.  They were outraged that the officer had bought her - not so much as the fact that her family had sold her.   Well - long story short - they cheated during a poker game (using Radar and a telescope) to win the girl from her owner.

It hit me - this is representative of the liberals - they feel validated in cheating as long as they feel that the ends justify the means.  Noone stepped up and offered that cheating was bad - we as viewers were supposed to be happy for them rescueing the girl.

So for the workers - they were cheating, but its okay as long as they feel justified in trying to bring down ole Joe.

Great post...

Over at Iowahawk regarding polls:

http://iowahawk.typepad.com/iowahawk/2008/10/balls-and-urns.html

Check it out.

Obama messiah gets lightning call from God

God always has a wonderful sense of humor. For example messiah Obama
was giving one of his Marxist campaign speeches when lightning struck.

Mere mortals would have at that point of warning got on their knees and
started a confessional beginning with bisexual adulterous acts, but
apparently Obama has ascertained he can fool God as he has now decided
to wear bluejeans.
I figure the Chicago bisexual presumes at mile high altitude God might not be able to pick him out in the crowds of bluejean bustin' democrits Obama'r has been azosiating wit in Murtha's redneck racist Pennsylvania.

I did notice that Barack also has on tennis shoes now. Apparently the
warning from God did spark in a little bit as he is ready to run for
his life.

All of this is an irony of amusing as the BATF made a
big deal about two hair heads talking about a fictional video game tale
of going after Obama wearing tuxedos. I wonder if theBATF is now doing surveillance on God as God set forth the big spark on Obama the other day.
Perhaps I suppose those Ohio Democrats who were invading Joe the Plummer's privacy like Big Brother will be doing a background check on God too to see if God is up to date on his child support payments.

It is a glorious day though in the USA. The LA Times is suppressing news in Islamocommunist Obama toasting a Philistine terrorist.

Then there are the Florida people and for that matter Americans nationwide
buying guns up for the Obama invasion if God forbid it happens.
Americans are very scared of this Obama and know very well what this
character will unleash on this United States as he seeks revenge on
America.

Of course, vocal Joe Biden has had a big hanky stuffed
in his mouth as two reporters actually asking questions so flustered
Joe he went nuts like he does and the question still remains is Obama a
Marxist, a communist or aTrotskyite.
A Marxist kills you kindly. A communist kills you bluntly and the Trotskyite just fries you with a Molotov cocktail.

Biden though has redefined "rich to tax" from 250,000 dollars down to 150,000
dollars. Breaking their promises already and it is not even retroactive
Clinton doing it. Next thing you know rich people will be those who
found 2 cents on the floor.
Not admitting to that one as I don't need the IRS auditing me over copper finds for Obama.

But Obama keeps chugging along, now he will delay the World Series to tell
the world a new sermon from the Obama. Who does he think he is God?

That though is the state of America this day, the Washington Post has now
proclaimed Obama has illegal overseas contributions which of course
will get him impeached along with the other fraudfrau Obama is up to.

Who knows the day might come very soon that Obama would have hoped that
lightning from God wasn't a warning and actually had hit him.

Oh a few more things. I see Daniel Pipes and Joseph Farah have plagiarized my blog concerning Obama having his mansion helped purchased by Saddam Hussein's bagman, Nadhmi Auchi.

I don't mind people stealing from me when they are nice, but Pipes like
David Horowitz is quite censorship prone which is American verboten and
Joe Farah sort of has a mouth on him too big for his mouth in being
rude.

But that's ok as even Chris Ruddy of Newsmax who sucked up
to Obama causing a great deal of the problems for McCain like Joe Farah
in promoting "none of the above" have allclasped hands around the merry Peggy Noonan tree dancing and shouting that this disaster they helped create can still be won for John McCain.

That is a sure sign that McCain and Palin
are winning if the big mouths are hedging their bets and the even more
surest sign are the glaring headlines by liberals, "POLLS MEAN NOTHING".

Wow when Obama in fiction is ahead by Rush Limbaugh's exact phrase of 15%
to win, then the polls are from the Obama mount, but just as soon as
McCain closes........polls have no meaning.

It makes one suffer from nostalgia when Dan Rather was the liar you could count on. Rather
could at least make lying fun in, "this race is tighter than a nun's
chastity belt on a trip to a New Orleans beefcake strip club".

Hey GungaDan I love Kipling and wrote a few thing honoring him, how about you adopt
me and we go into journalistic business together. You do the liberal
lies and I can do NFL cheerleader channel reviews.

Thee God and thee Messiah along with the world has had enough of Obama, let us elect John McCain and Sarah Palin and start having some fun.

El Rushbo's Prebuttal to BHO's Infomercial

Hey guys, Rush was in rare form today!  His prebuttal to Obama was just excellent.  Any Independents and fence-sitters should listen or read this before they vote.  The more we find out about this guy, the scarier it gets.  I mean, his associations and votes for infanticide and wealth redistribution is one thing but, when you listen to those audio recordings of him denigrating our Founding Fathers and Bill of Rights and how he wants the SCOTUS to dole out economic justice, it just sends a CHILL down my spine!!!

Without further ado, Here's Rush:

Tonight, Barack Obama with his preinaugural address, a 30-minute television buy on some networks.  I thought, ladies and gentlemen, I would precede this with a prebuttal to Obama, my own version of an inaugural address, if you will, or a campaign ad.  It would go like this.

My fellow Americans, I come to you tonight a few days before an election only six days from now.  These are monumental times.  We face the worst economy since the Great Depression.  People are losing their homes, their jobs, their businesses.  Students cannot afford their college loans.  Single mothers cannot afford day care; our schools are underfunded; families are growing broke paying for health care.  And nobody seems to care,

ladies and gentlemen.  Nobody seems to represent the middle class.  The question is whether we want another eight years of failed policies.  I have traveled this nation.  From the big cities to our small towns, I have talked to the assembly line worker in Detroit. I have talked to the farmer in Missouri, and working people of this country have had to bear the brunt of eight years of neglect, of policies that have favored the well off and the wealthy.  It is time to change the course of the nation, to work together to bring an end to the division that exists in our nation.  That's what this election is about: hope, change, the future.

And so it is, my fellow Americans, that I urge you to reject Barack Obama and his cynical campaign for president.  I urge you to reject the policies and the wording of the charismatic demagogue.  Barack Obama condemns the United States Constitution, our highest law, because it does not empower him to redistribute the income of the middle class and give it to people who do not work.  Obama condemns our judicial system not because it's too liberal and too activist, but because it will not impose his left-wing policies by judicial fiat.  Obama believes that the tax code should be used not to fund the legitimate purposes of government, but to massively expand the size and power of the federal government.  It's time for change.  It is time for the kind of change that has made this country great and the change we seek, the change that matters is change that expands our liberty, expands opportunities, expands wealth creation, and expands our horizons.  It is time to celebrate capitalism, not demonize it.  It's time to celebrate success, not punish it.  It is time to ignite our economy, not smother it.

Barack Obama speaks the language of the socialist.  Barack Obama peddles class warfare.  He peddles human envy.  This is not what American leaders do.  This is not what would-be American presidents should do.  This is the tactic of the authoritarian, to create animosity, to create anger, to create fear, all for the purpose of undermining the strength and the unity of our society.  Barack Obama comes from a long line of ideologues who puts the interests of Big Government above the interests of the individual and the interests of the family.  He seeks to replace the American entrepreneurial spirit with government regulations and mandates.  James Madison, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, Ronald Reagan, all embraced the principle that America was a different place because of its respect for the individual.  They did not talk about the government redistributing wealth.  They did not talk about the government punishing success.  They did not talk about the government reregulating the economy.  They did not say that paying more taxes was patriotic.

They believed, as our leaders have always believed, that government had limits, so that the American dream would have no limits.  They believe that each human being is unique, that he or she has the ability to do great things if left alone to pursue their own interests.  They believed that ordinary people could accomplish extraordinary things.  They rejected outright the authoritarianism that Barack Obama represents.  They each swore to uphold the Constitution because they loved it, not because they saw it as a way to take power and subvert it.  Throughout our history, our leaders have understood that private property rights are key to the survival of the individual.  If you take his property, you take his livelihood.  If you take his property, you attack his spirit.  From the day our nation was born, the preservation of private property has been considered a priority of law.  Barack Obama wants to use the law to destroy private property.  This is what he means, when he attacks businesses large and small, when he insists that there must be limits on what you can earn and keep and pass on to your family when you pass away.  He wants the government to control your private property, your income, your assets.

In other words, my fellow Americans, Barack Obama believes that when you go to work each day, when you save some of your money, when you write your will, the federal government can and must be involved in all of those decisions.  What would Jefferson, Madison, Lincoln, and Reagan say about that?  Jefferson and Madison would call it the abuses of monarchy.  Lincoln would call it the abuses of despotism.  Ronald Reagan would call it the tyranny of socialism.  Our nation is built on the premise that the federal government has specific limited powers.  It has important powers, yes, but they are restricted to certain activities.  And the purpose of those powers is not to expand the authority of politicians and bureaucrats in Washington, but to organize society around the concept of individual liberty.  The individual is not to be a slave to government, he is not to be an employee of the politician or the bureaucrat.  He is to be respected and protected from government.  That is why we have a Bill of Rights.  It is why we have separation of powers.  It is why we have states' rights.

For several decades, the left has attempted to destroy these protections.  The left does not want to be hemmed in by the Constitution.  They have sought ways to avert the legal limits the Founders placed on them and their ambitions, and, sadly, they have made much progress in this regard and they have placed all hope that Barack Obama will finally deliver them the victory over the American people they have craved.  And make no mistake, my fellow Americans, a Barack Obama victory is a victory over the American people.  And that is, in the end, what this election is really about.  Will the American people remain free, or will they once and for all become servants of government?  Will the politicians and bureaucrats in Washington be empowered to confiscate the hopes, the dreams, the finances, the property of the people as they see fit, any time they see fit, or will the people still be in charge of their own government and their own destiny?  That is what this election is all about.

When Barack Obama says that he will make sure you do not lose your home, that you will go to college, that you will receive free health care, that you will have child care, that you will be free from want, free from desire, free from need, he repeats the lies of past authoritarians who have made the same claims and the same promises and who have delivered nothing but poverty, misery, and hopelessness.  Obama represents an ideology for which there are no limits on power.  He wants to lead a different kind of government, one in which there are no limits to how much it can confiscate from the people, he wants to lead a movement in which the individual is crushed under the weight of the many.  And Obama, like others in the past, speaks of democracy as he pursues anti-democratic goals.  As his mentor Saul Alinsky taught, you must use the language of the middle class in order to destroy it.

So I come to you, my fellow Americans, with a simple message.  If you believe in the principles and the institutions that have made this nation great, that have given more liberty and prosperity to more people than any other system on the face of the earth, that have created the most tolerant and giving and successful society in human history, then I urge you to reject the candidate who rejects these and our principles.  If you want to leave your children and grandchildren and generations yet to come a country that is as free and hopeful and magnificent as the country you live in today and that your parents and grandparents left you, you will reject the candidate who rejects individual liberty, private property rights, and the Constitution.  Do not allow a charismatic demagogue to change our great nation in ways that will diminish it.  You have your destiny and America's destiny in your own hands, you, not the media, not the pollsters, not the pundits, you will decide this election.  You will decide if you want to live in America or someplace that you won't recognize in a few years.  You will decide if the principles that have served this nation so well will remain our governing principles.

This election, only six days away, is the most important election in our lifetime.  Everything is at stake.  We know this because Obama has said so.  He has thrown down the gauntlet.  He is running against our history.  He is running against the system.  He is running against our liberty, and so it is that I ask you on November 4th, next Tuesday, vote for liberty, your own and the nations.  Vote for opportunity, your own and your children's.  Vote for America.  Vote for McCain-Palin.  You will hear Obama tonight say that we have been talking about the same problems for decades and nothing has ever been done to solve them.  This may be the most accurate statement Barack Obama has made, or will make, in the campaign.  We have been talking about the same problems for decades.  The problem is that for most of these decades, the people who have been fixing them have made them worse.  It's not that we have done nothing to solve these problems.

We have done everything the left promised would solve these problems, and not one of the problems is solved, unless Republicans achieve a majority and govern as such, and then we get welfare reform.  And then we get balanced budgets, and then we get tax cuts, and then we get prosperity, and we get good national security, and we get safety.  But at those times where Democrats are strong enough in Congress to blunt a Republican president, or run the whole show themselves, they look back over 50 years and they see the same problems, and we have addressed those problems and we have fixed those problems per se, and yet the beneficiaries of the solutions are still as angry and unhappy and miserable as they were 50 years ago when the liberal Democrats began the fix.  It makes no sense to let them keep fixing things when all they do is break them.

»→ HuffPo writer tantrum

Seems Huffington Post writers have little quarrels with their significant others from time to time.

[Carol] Burger, who on Oct. 7 was tapped to cover the
election for the Web site, The Huffington Post, still sometimes felt
sad and isolated. [Jessica] Kalish, whom Burger had married in Massachusetts in
2005, had met another woman.

Seems Ms. Burger found it necessary to drive home a point with Ms Kalish.  Unfortunately the point was at the tip of a screwdriver 220 times.

It was just a little snit, I'm sure.

  • We will restore the moral standing that we had when Bill Clinton was President - Barack Obama.

»→ Splain this to me

The FED cuts interest rates @ 5:00 pm after the US Market closes, and Asia & Europe get the bounce?

Is it unimportant when the trigger is pulled?

  • We will restore the moral standing that we had when Bill Clinton was President - Barack Obama.

»→ More chicken crap

Of course it takes Reuters to break this wonderful news to us.

The Fed also opened up dollar liquidity aid beyond traditional markets,
with four new $30 billion currency swap lines with Brazil, Mexico,
South Korea and Singapore
.

BTW, that's 4 X 30 = $120 billion pumped into foreign economies.

  • We will restore the moral standing that we had when Bill Clinton was President - Barack Obama.

America, Think again

»→Remember back in September when Barack Obama said“Even if I want to take them [guns] away, I don’t have the votes in Congress’’

Reckon he'll have the votes come January?

Who's going to stop him?  Is this the Australian model at work?

Prepare to be bow to his majesty.

  • We will restore the moral standing that we had when Bill Clinton was President - Barack Obama.

Stoopid American voters.

No, I'm not referring to Americans who will be voting for Obama (though I should) I am referring to Americans who have already cast their votes in this presidential election, but are too stupid too know who they voted for.

No joke. According to a NYT poll, of the people who have voted, six percent in Florida and three percent in Ohio do not even know who they voted for!
