This reminds me of a strategy employed in the last season of Survivor, where the ladies teamed up against the last remaining guy and convinced him that he would not be harmed by giving up his immunity... it would be a show of good faith.

He did it, and they promptly turned on him and voted him out.

So go ahead, Obama, hand over your immunity idol and see what happens.

And I suppose Clooney thinks Obama hangs out with him because he greatly values his advice; you know, because of George's vast experience in foreign policy(didn't he make a movie about a lost Soviet missile???) and health care (played a doctor on ER...) and probably various other areas of expertise.

Jeez...with Obama ruling the world and George by his side a couple of times a week, there is nothing we can't do!!!

I've been married a long time, and at times over the years have envied the freedom that single people have. ButI will tell you one thing...there is NO WAY I would want to be single and involved in the "dating" scene today!!

RD, in a way there will always be a shortage of something and the system determines who gets it and who does not.  In the UK the system is run by the government and THEY MAKE A DETERMINATION WHO LIVES AND DIES, So don’t piss off the government.  In the US a similar determination is made on ability to pay for services, so in our system make lots of money or have damn good insurance.

In practice if this woman had money then she too could get drugs by going outside of the system.  So in practical terms money rules and poverty drools.

RD, the other day in the doctor's office, I was looking at Time magazine and came upon these "schizophrenic" poll results:

80% of the people surveyed thought that individuals were responsible for their own financial security.

However:

77% thought that the government should offer subsidies to help people buy health insurance.

67% thought that there should be more paid maternity and family leave.

And 70% thought that government should subsidize child care.

I guess the rationale is "Government should pay for my stuff so I can be "financially secure."

Apparently no big deal....They have tapes of Obama taking far left positions, to show how he's now flip=flopping from his earlier stances.

Politico says they appeared in the Washington Times, but didn't have much impact.

I've said before John McCain should just play HRC's ads against Obama.

Obama's statement on the situation icontains this gem (and this comes after he claims that he has been warning us about this for many months):
