For general discussion and debate. Possible talking point: marriage makes you healthier, happier, and richer!
[T]here are two theories as to why married people report better health. One is that being married gives you more access to social support and economic resources. The other is that being divorced or widowed hurts health. "In general, marriage tends to make people healthier, happier and richer, and that's especially true for men," said Scott Wetzler, vice chairman of psychiatry and behavioral science, and head of the "Supporting Healthy Marriage" program at Montefiore Medical Center in New York City.

August 12, 2008 - 16:54 ET by Dan The Man 2The Catholics are not idolators in the classic sense of the word. Most of them profess having Jesus as their Lord and Savior. They definitely do not worship a false god. They worship the God of the Bible. I do find their prayer to icons and saints troubling but all of us have problems and each chooses their own sin. At least they dont condone wholsale murder any more, unlike the leaders of Islam do.
And you must agree that followers of Islam commit the one unpardonable sin and most likely will continue so until they blow themselves up. Th sin of blaspheming the Holy Spirit, the rejection of Jesus Christ as God. It is not up to me to convert Islam jsut to make sure they hear about teh good news.

I get jealous of my single friends for just a few petty reasons
: Watching a football game without being disturbed with petty questions
: Having enough time in the day, without helping with housework, cooking and helping kids with homework
: Going out whenever I like,or buying a big screen tv without having to ask permission.

Churchill: "Madam, if I were your husband, I would drink it."

Heard that on Rush
August 12, 2008 - 13:00 ET by motherbeltHeard that on Rush today.
I thought the real Olympic scandal was Russia attacking Ossetia!
Obama's statement on the situation icontains this gem (and this comes after he claims that he has been warning us about this for many months):
The violence taking place along the Black Sea is just miles from Sochi,
the site for the Winter Olympics in 2014. It only adds to the tragedy
and outrage of the current situation that Russia has acted while the
world has come together in peace and athletic competition in Beijing.
This action is wholly inconsistent with the Olympic ideal. (empahsis added)
Is there any greater sin?????
A boycott will solve EVERYTHING
August 12, 2008 - 23:20 ET by UnsaneDon't worry! We'll just boycott the Сочи Olympics when the time comes! Don't you remember how the Soviets immediately pulled out of Afghanistan after Carter made the United States #63 on the list of nations to boycott the 1980 Summer Olympics? :-)
The Olympics are now under way in Beijing. May the people of Beijing gt thoroughly sick of hearing The Star Spangled Banner. May the Beijing Olympic Committee run out of U.S. flags for themedal ceremonies! USA! USA!! USA!!!

August 12, 2008 - 11:55 ET by CTThe Governor of Virginia, Democrap Tim Kane is grateful that Putin's Russia has responded to Obama's request for a cease fire in soon-to-be Russia's new state of Georgia. No joke Gov. Kane did attribute the non-existent Russian cease fire to the vacationing Sen. Obama’s request for it this morning. As they say ‘You can’t make this stuff up’!
