Fernando Rodney Breaks 100mph mark
August 9, 2008 - 10:31 ET by pearlThe Tiger's Fernando Rodney threw 100.2 mph this week. See Top Gun
list.
Favre makes me sick!
August 9, 2008 - 10:32 ET by jefflebowskiWhat a glory hog! With the big retirement attention and crying all over the television last year....just go away! He's just like Michael Jordan...wouldn't go away. They love getting attention and being told how wonderful they are. What? Does he not have enough money? I believe that any player that goes through these long, drawn-out retirement charades should not be allowed back into the league.

I agree Jeff
August 9, 2008 - 10:49 ET by Dee BunkI used to loooove Michael Jordan he seemed so humble when he was on top. Same with Favre. The way Favre is acting now is even worse though. I guess you really never know how humble they are until they are not on top anymore.
Jeff, speaking of Favre, you should have been here Thursday!
August 10, 2008 - 09:13 ET by goldenthroatFavre's first appearance since his trade was the Jets/Browns game in Cleveland Thursday night.
You think the Cleveland TV and radio stations would be talking about our Browns first pre-season game? Nope. The focus of their sports coverage was almost entirely on Favre! They covered his arriving at Burke Lakefront Airport - followed him in his police escorted van - arrival at Cleveland Browns Stadium - his press conference - walking onto the field with his new team - camera shots of him throughout the game - and it continued into the next day, ad nauseum!
Hey, Brett - do us all a favor - retire already! You're have proven you're a shoo-in for Canton in your first year of eligibility but, for crying out loud, you're done - and now you're risking further embarrassment of yourself by becoming an NFL also-ran.
Pack it in - no pun intended - and head to Disney World, for pete's sake!
Excuse me while I reach for the pepto.

Favre with the Jets AND Pennington to the Dolphins, maybe both teams can shoot for a 8 win season?

The assailant stabbed the man and his wife, then leapt to his death.
COWARDICE GOLD MEDAL
August 9, 2008 - 10:59 ET by reelman46COWARDICE… EVEN IN OLYMPICS
An
Iranian swimmer pulled out of the Olympic Games men’s 100m breaststroke
heats on Saturday, just minutes before he was due to compete against an
Israeli rival.
Mohammad Alirezaei’s lane one was empty when the field left the
starting blocks while Israel’s Tom Beeri, starting in lane seven,
finished fourth.
CRAWFISH NOTE: When you teach hate to preschoolers and
have a chance to face the “evil zionists”… you run like a scared dog…
sorry, you would not make the “cut” to be a Spartan or an athlete or a
man. All sizzle, no steak. Even the Nazis faced up to compete in the
Olympics.
What does this tell you about Iran and maybe islam? Well? Hate is a crazy dangerous thing, is it not?

YES!!!
August 10, 2008 - 16:47 ET by UnsaneAMEN brother!!!
Considering what sheer hell the Israelis undoubtedly go through just to field an Olympic team (1972, anyone???), you HAVE to cheer anytime you see them representing in the Parade of Nations at the opening ceremonies.
That Iranian athlete was and is a PUNK for running away from competition.
The Olympics are now under way in Beijing. May the people of Beijing gt thoroughly sick of hearing The Star Spangled Banner. May the Beijing Olympic Committee run out of U.S. flags for themedal ceremonies! USA! USA!! USA!!!

NASCAR at Watkins Glen
August 9, 2008 - 18:58 ET by HeavyChevyI hope NASCAR implement more road courses. I love the race either way but the road courses always make things twice as interesting.

Heavy, Nascar doesn't want road coarses
August 9, 2008 - 19:08 ET by jefflebowskiThey would rather pack them into cookie cutter boring tracks like the ones they are racing in now so they can pack the new fans in (at least once). Nascar is so booooorrrrriiiinnnnggg today. Short track racing was the heart of Nascar racing and they have systematically gotten rid of those tracks so Bruton Smith and the France family can make even more money. They have turned their backs on traditional fans. To me, Nascar has turned into wrestling.

I know...
August 10, 2008 - 14:04 ET by HeavyChevyThis is what happens when you have too much money and not enough heart for the fans or the sport. I have been a long time NASCAR fan, but now If the "American Le Mans" series "SCCA" or "Rally" racing is on I would most likely watch those instead.
Remember the old saying that made all racing fun "Run what you brung and hope you brung enough." those days are sooooo gone.

USA Basketball - Road to Redemption

"What you thought about NBA players may not be true"
This is a 2 + 1/2 hour series about the Men's USA Basketball team and
how their devasting defeat in '04 completely changed the make up and
character of the team. Surprisingly patriotic which Coach K has a lot
to do with. I was impressed in Coach K bringing in the military to talk
to the players and having them exhibition for the troops.
