For general discussion and debate. Possible talking point: What the heck was Hillary talking about (video embedded right):

My husband did not wrap up the nomination in 1992 until he won the California primary somewhere in the middle of June, right? We all remember Bobby Kennedy was assassinated in June in California. I don't understand it.

Do you find these comments offensive? Do you think there was any implication to the possibility that Obama could be assassinated? Does this show a woman so "consumed by raw ambition to where the possible assassination of an opponent is something to ponder in a strategic way?" Is this the end of her campaign? Or, do you think this is much more innocent than Obama-loving media -- that have been trying to push her out since Iowa -- are claiming for their own political interests?

Nope

She is a dolt and tried to use other candidates going all the way to the wire in the primaries.  As ususal her researchers or her smartest woman in America intellect let her down and she did not take into account that Kennedy was killed three months or so into the campaign.  But, her point was look at all these other candidates that went to the convention.  I deserve to too.

No harm, no foul.  The thin skins can howl and whine all they want but it does not change the point that she was trying to make.

Nope

Hillary was trying to think of another time in a June primary that people would remember, unfortunately it was the Kennedy primary...she even said "everyone" would remember that Bobby was running in June...June being the key word. She just isn't as bright as people give her credit for. Unfortunately in this climate everyone needs an editor sitting next to them to review their statements before they are made. I have never heard so many apologies in my life, than in this campaign season!

Hillary isn't the first!

"As a black man, you know, Barack can get shot going to the gas station."

 Michelle Obama

Right, you know those white

Right, you know those white racists...just hanging around gas stations with guns waiting for a black guy to pull in....

Durbin's response

"I know Hillary Clinton and the last thing in the world she'd ever want is to wish misfortune on anybody. She and Barack are friends," Durbin said. "It was . . . a careless remark and we'll leave it at that."

Yeah, right -- Hillary would never want to wish misfortune on anybody. Just ask Vince Foster if you don't believe me.

Unlike others, I don't get

Unlike others, I don't get offended easily. I am fully aware that Hillary Clinton herself engages in character assassination to get her way; I'm not in the least bit surprised. She's a mafioso.

The MSM and left want Obama

They have thrown Hitlery under the bus (breaks my heart too) and are going to turn whatever she says into the most negative interpretation. Kind of what they do to conservatives on a daily basis!

I hate to think of that Commie Osama being considered for President but, damn, isn't it sweet watching all of the Clintoons media "friends" now treat them like garbage??

Media

This morning, Joe Scarborough (who loves Hillary), said the far left and far right are the ones making a big deal out of this.  Is he then admitting that one of his own msnbc'ers is far left?  I mean the one who hosts primary night coverage? I mean the one who has a commercial telling us it's time to put partisanship aside? I mean the one who would rather be water-boarded than have a conservative point of view on his show? Yep. Good old KO had a blistering "special comment", 10 minutes in length, on his show last night.  He slammed Hillary and her use of the word assassination.  I think he's endangering his job....YAY!!!

the percentage is now approaching zero

If you were Barack Obama, would you want a VP who has now mentioned the word "assassination" twice? Sorry for the pun, but talk about shooting yourself in the foot.

A government that robs Peter to pay Paul can always depend on the support of Paul.
- George Bernard Shaw, 1944

Before I viewed the video

Before I viewed the video of what she said, I heard what Matthews and the MSNBC lynch mob was saying.  You would have thought she literally wished Obama would get assassinated.  Once I actually heard what she said, I didn't interrpret it to mean anything but a "anything can happen" comment.  If I was her, I would have also referred to the Gary Hart fiasco, but whatever.  The MSM are now eating their own.

I agree marpel

It's ridiculous how much of a big deal they are making about this. The Obama camp should be the one's ridiculed for making her out to have said or wished something so rotten just so they can close the deal.

She has every right to defend herself for staying in the race. She is the underdog and Obama's cruel attacks on her just because she wants to stay in the race are really disgusting.

So much for his changing politics. He criticizes every Republican and opponent in mean and vicious ways, yet excuses all the crap the Dems have been screaming and yelling about for 7 years. They have called the President all kinds of names and are responsible for the Nasty tone yet he wants to blame it all on Republicans and now Hillary just because she's running against him. He's a phony.

Mother and Dee, your points

Mother and Dee, your points are well taken.  Before I leave here to help my son move from Austin back to San Antonio, I wanted to wish everyone a wonderful and safe Memorial Day weekend.  And we'll all have a toast of a cool one to our troops, past and present.  :o)

My first thought upon

My first thought upon reading that: she was making the point that when Bobby Kennedy was assassinated in June, the primaries were still going on.

But when you have a reputation for being cold-hearted, people tend to look at everything you say through that lens.

And Dee, I agree about Obama. He characterizes every criticism of him as "the same old playbook" but he can be just as nasty.

I agree MB - Republicans see her as cold-hearted

myself included. But for the Obama camp to make a deal out of this is preposterous. She is the underdog and he's attacking her with the viciousness of a weak desperate underdog.

She was justifing staying in the race and he's just being extremely nasty for no good reason. Obama is a fake.

Associations

Humans think by association. One idea has some attribute that makes us think of some other idea, which has an attribute that connects with a further idea, and suddenly you have a train of thought. Most common conversations are built by the speakers exchanging associations. The fun comes because most ideas have multiple attributes, and you can make associations from ideas in multiple ways.

  • Sometimes, you follow an idea because it has a particular attribute, but you don't pay attention to other attributes it also has. For instance, suppose you see some young person and you refer to him as a "boy" before it dawns on you that the young person is also black. Suddenly you've uttered a racial slur, but in reality, it was the fact that you weren't paying attention to his race that got you in trouble. These unintentional associations happen naturally all the time, but we usually dismiss them before taking offense.
  • Clearly, Hillary was trying to come up with an attribute to associate with a primary fight that lasted well into the summer. She chose the RFK reference because he was still fighting for the nomination when he was shot, and that was in June. She was focusing on the time, not the attribute of assassination.

But the Obama camp jumped immediately. They're giving notice to everyone that they're going to scream to the media about any attribute, even if unintended, to make Obama appear to be a victim. By any measure, that's playing unfairly and dirty. They're going to spin every attribute, and if it stirs up racial feelings, that's all the better for them. It's the ultimate in dirty politics -- it advertises that Obama will exploit every possible negative connotation, no matter what is actually said. They've already done it several times with McCain: the 100 years distortion, not to mention the times they've referred to verbal gaffes as evidence of senility (even though Obama siad there are 57 states, etc.).

Here's my question. Why would America want Obama as president, when he seems to be such a constant victim? Is he just insult-prone? Do we really want to take a chance on someone so unlucky?

Guilt by association

Guilt by association (sorry).  Yes, the Professional Victim Campaign is well underway.  This reminds me of a PTA association I had years ago… one of our black female members absolutely refused to acknowledge any disagreement or criticism of her as anything other than racism or Uncle Tom-ism.  Eventually the rest of us (white, black, Hispanic, Asian) realized we were tired of being “guilty”, and we began to act accordingly.  When it comes to the Obama campaign, the MSM is falling all over itself wallowing in racial guilt.

It must be me but I didn't

It must be me but I didn't interpret it that she wanted Obama to get assassinated.

mjg...It's not just you...I

mjg...It's not just you...I didn't either...but the Obama crew are using this to make it seem so and knew the msm would go for it when he played the victim card again...they pounced on it like a cat on a mouse....by the way she has said this before and nobody cared...like they say politics is a blood sport and they are doing their best to bloody her out of the race by using the msm to get to the superdelegates before June 3rd if possible...and wound her miserably...I hope she stays in and this makes her more determined that ever so I can have fun watching the convention in Denver.

"Never murder your opponent when he is committing suicide." ~ W. Churchill

Oh, please...

I will put my conservative credentials up against anybody, but I have to say that this criticism is very picky. It is obvious she was simply talking about how primaries weren't decided in the past until the summer, so why should she bow out now when she is very close. It was an unfortunate and rather macabre example, but given that there are plenty of substantive reasons to oppose Billary and Obamessiah, we cheapen and distract from our case by making such a big deal over trivia like this.

This has become a world of professional motor-mouths, who make their fame and fortune by non-stop blabbering. Anyone, even the ones on our team like Rush and Hannity (note I didn't include McCain in the ones on our side), who does that for a living will inevitably say something dumb on occasion.

Now out-and-out lying about things like her personal hand-to-hand combat experience when she led the troops in storming the hills around the airport in Bosnia, that's different.

The key word is "June"...

She was clearly making the point that nominations are not always determined before June.

There are those in the Obama campaign who have been fearing an "assassination attempt", resulting in very early Secret Service protection, but the ego involved in assuming Clinton was considering assassination in such a remark suggests that the Obama campaign has hung around Chicago politics far too long. Only those steeped in such traditions would consider a reference to a historical event as some sort of personal attack or not-so-veiled threat.

Of course, if she had actually mentioned his name with an appropriate wink and smile, it would have been a different thing altogether.

Hmm, maybe she is saying that California is dangerous to Obama - that makes as much sense as seeing an assassination in these remarks. Should he stay out of California in June, maybe?

Next thing we know, she will say "Hello" to him in Congress and the headlines will shout the news that she was speaking in "code"! Even "Hello" will have some special significance and will show a "special threat" to Obama...

Right RSB - and McCain will be next

Everything he says will be interpreted as a vicious attack. That is Obama's whole game plan. Dems who agree with him are allowed to spew the most vile crap, yet Republicans and his opponents are responsible for the worst possible interpretation of what ever they say. It doesn't matter how non combative they were when they said it.

Then he can make comments like "clinging to guns and religion" that can't be interpreted in many different ways and some how claim that people didn't understand him.

It's absolutely ridiculous to call someone vicious for defending their right to stay in the race. What she said is not even close to any kind of personal attack. She makes plenty of personal attacks against Republicans, but so does Obama.

Then he can make comments

Then he can make comments like "clinging to guns and religion" that
can't be interpreted in many different ways and some how claim that
people didn't understand him.

Good point, Dee. I'm waiting for someone in his campaign to explain how a man famed for his eloquence can fall back on the excuse that he didn't phrase things properly, or didn't make himself clear.

He knew exactly what he was saying, and so did everyone else.

Not A Pretty Sight

No this remark is not "more innocent than .....". Believing that would require a simplistic and dumb naivety on one's part.

Instead get a firm grasp of the obvious. Hillary has harbored these thoughts for many months. Those poisonous words accurately reflect her cutthroat mentality.

This woman has no redeeming qualities. She has an inflated sense of power and has already had more than nine lives in this presidential race. These comments make even liberals shudder.

Her strategies are crumbling and this jaw dropper should finish her off for good.

McCain Will Face This Lefty Spin

First, it's disappointing that NB did not include a link to the video

http://www.breitbart.tv/html/101403.html and that NB only selected the two sentences.

This is what was said BEFORE the infamous sentences:

"that's been the pattern for some time now . . . it's the tougest job . . . you should be willing to campaign for every vote, you should be willing to debate anytime anywhere . . . people have been trying to push me out ever since Iowa . . . I find it curious because it is unprecedent in history . . . there has been this urgency to end this . . . historically that makes no sense. Q: you don't buy the party unity argument? I don't, because again, I've been around long enough and my husband did not wrap up . . . "

Note also that when she spoke of the assination she emphasized (tone) the word June.

It's not debattable. And yes, she made the same point in the past, so what? It seems some on the right outraged by this are playing by the Obama rules now!

She can't bring up Kennedy's assiniation - it's off the table like Michelle Obama. Nope, can't bring up historical fact that serves as a second and third example of how the decision isn't always wrapped up by June. Nope can't do it b/c Obama is black and the bad bad racists in America who didn't vote for him may hear this and shoot him for Hillary.

Sorry folks, but people siding with the MSM on this are in the lefty camp. This is ridiculous. This BS is going to be used against McCain. It needs to stop here. Not for Hillary's sake, but for America's. The Media screwed us in Iraq. They've screwed the economy. They're trying to hand over the White House to Obama. They need to be stopped.

Right bias fighter - no matter how much I dislike Hillary

She's in the same boat Republicans are in and have been in where the MSM takes everything they say and propegates the worst possible interpretation that is fed to them by the people they support.

If Hillary were to win the nomination the tables would be turned. No doubt.

Comments of Bush being a liar, racist, hater of poor people are just A okay and Obama can talk about Bush being responsible for the nasty tone. They never ever take Obama to task about how nasty Dems have been. Obama may not yell and scream and have an offensive voice like Hillary, but he makes plenty of snide comments that show he agrees with the flame throwers.

Obama is definitely a passive aggressive. He's very nasty with his innuendos.

umm

The only thing I found objectionable, and what really should be news; is that she said she would debate "any time anywhere." Unless it's FOX News, that is.

Bobama's press release was stupid,. His campaign and he are so freaking whiny. I'm almost positive he will be the next President. Makes me ill.

b-f

b-f,

Why would I include the link to the video when it's embedded? Please advise.

Also, this is an open thread. Text is intentionally limited above the jump so as to make this about YOUR opinions. As such, there was no intention here to limit the transcript so as to frame the discussion. Folks that were interested only needed to click on that embedded video to see what Hillary said.

I'm sorry this didn't meet with your approval. ns

Because I'm an idiot

My apologies. I have no excuse for it. I shot off my mouth, figuratively speaking, while foolishly overlooking the video and focusing instead on the text and not being aware of the function of an open thread ("Text is intentionally limited . . . ").

Again, my bad. I'll use more caution next time before calling you out and making a moron of myself.

Foot in mouth disease

Just another example of Democratic foot in mouth disease. At least she later apologized for having said something so offensive,

It is interesting to note the Obama, who suffers from a severe case of foot in mouth disease, was the first to pounce on her. But then, he immediately recognized the symptoms.

Shades of Vince

Maybe Hitlary was putting the word out to the guys who killed Vince Foster for her, that they now have a new 'contract target' and are "weapon free" in June?

It's the Three Stooges

Watching the Democrats is like watching the Three Stooges, and I apologize for insulting the Three Stooges.

shocked, shocked!

I for one would be shocked, shocked to hear this from Hillary's lips ...

...

if yesterday ... from a distant planet ...

...

I had just arrived on Earth.

World's Smartest woman

I think it is just another glaring example of how desparate they have become. Trying to gin up a reason for staying in the race that backfired because the MSM and even many of the Dems who have come to loath the Clintons over the many years they have been camped out on the WH lawn. They are now seizing any opportunity and any shred to put her in as bad a light as possible. I do not believe in "karma" but if it indeed has any validity this is hers. How many people's lives have her and Bill destroyed along their path to stardom. Now she is being ignored, ridiculed, bombasted due to her own words and actions. In the past the press gave her a pass up to and including her run for the Senate. She enjoyed the exact same treatment then that Obama is getting now from the press. No hard questions, family off limits, etc but she does not like it that that shoe is no longer on her foot. The cries of sexism and unfairly treatment at the hands of her former friends and collegues is almost too much for her to believe or handle. What goes around comes around. I think this saying volumns about her and Bill's former supporters. They fawned over them, heaped praise and adoration on them at every opportunity but once someone new came onto the scene that maybe, just maybe they could hitch their wagon on, they have cut the Clintons off like a hangnail. Now if you read the blogs, former Clintonistas are appalled by the Clintons, disgusted and "shocked" by this kind of behavior. Many of us are shocked at their shock. Like, where in the hell were you when these two ran the WH, rented out the Lincoln bedroom, super secret deals with the Chicoms, shlush funds, etc. I think they were just waiting for the chance to leave the Clinton fold but knew of Hillary's very long memory and past accomplishments in dealing with traitors in the ranks. Pride and a haughty spirit goeth before a fall.

THis MSM attack on HC's Harmless comment is similar

This MSM attack on HC's rather harmless comment is similar to the way the MSM attacked Bush's Recent Israel Speech.

Except, now the MSM is attacking HC....WHY ?  Because Obama NEEDS IT...the Man is sucking WIND, and if Hillary passes it, it will be BLOWN UP way out of proportion.

Hillary was emphasizing a DATE....June....and while no one remembers Bill's June Primary clinch date...everyone knows Bobbby's Assasination/date...now that HC has reminded us.

This must be part of Obama's List of things you cannot talk about..and the MSM is the enforcer.

One can hope that the Clintons will help NB'er tear the MSM a new one...for continued BIAS reporting....the Obama Bedfellows are at it 24/7 nowadays.

Vince

It's a possibility that Hillary has called on her flying monkeys to Vince him.

Noonan article was an awesome read. . .

The funny little historical snippets were icing on the cake.

http://online.wsj.co...

So. . .while reading it, I had to admit to myself that I still have a case of tunnel vision when it comes to "gender bias" left over from my liberal days.

I couldn't trust Hillary as far as I could throw her (for obvious reasons), but the liberal guilt still clung to me. It's hard to shake off the 2-dimensional form of quota-driven feminism.

I don't feel a single shred of guilt anymore.

Because I was reminded what a real woman in leadership looks like. Thanks Peggy.

I commented on Hillary and

I commented on Hillary and her remarks last night on one of Mark's latest Olbie threads...the msm is out to make sure she drops out of the race one way or the other...I detest the Clinton Machine, always have and have posted as such, what is happening to Hill with the msm she has helped create over the years behind the scenes with the help of the likes of Soros who is now firmly against and her, and has a new sock-puppet messiah Obama ...Hillary has been destroying other people along the way the the aide of the msm...now she is reaping what she has sown over the years...

If you can stomach this....listen to Olbie here last night...he is out of this world here with his special comment segment sticking it to Hillary every way but side-ways...talk about insane fake outrage all for his agenda to get her gone...just click on the video.

"Never murder your opponent when he is committing suicide." ~ W. Churchill

sorry but

I have no love for the Clintons( or the democratic party) and I think after all these years (never mind how many) I am getting fairly good at spotting sneaky slams at the oposition. This remark seems to me to be a stupid foot in mouth remark, it appears that the Obama kool-aid drinkers are the ones making this into a big deal when it is much ado about nothing

VOTE REPUBLICAN

If I was her, I'd be a LOT

If I was her, I'd be a LOT more worried about myself getting, shall we say, 'retired' by a deranged Obamaniac if she shows up at the convention.

A Good One!

SickofLibs,

This is a good one. I had to clean coke off of my keyboard!

Is Obama the only one who could be assassinated?

Is there any more reason why a black man would be assassinated rather than a woman?  In the light of the assassination of Benazir Bhutto, isn't there a possibility that someone could take a shot at Hillary? Or is Obama saying only black men running for POTUS can be assassinated?

I don't think Hillary meant her words in the way everyone is painting them.  The key thought is June, not assassination.

If Obama is so touchy about something like this, then we don't need him as POTUS misrepresenting things that someone says off the cuff.

once again, words matter

I agree the reaction has been overblown, (especially on Drudge), but Hillary, as a skilled politician, should have known better to use the words that she used.

She can reference the RFK assassination, or the potential problem(s) with McCain's age, but there is a certain delicacy to how this is mentioned.

A government that robs Peter to pay Paul can always depend on the support of Paul.
- George Bernard Shaw, 1944

Something no one has mentioned...

... at least that I've heard: Sure, RFK was assassinated in June-after the California primary. When is CA's primary NOW? By June won't almost all the Dem primaries be over? With the current "me-first" attitude, primaries and decisions about candidates happen much sooner than they did in '68. Or even '92, for that matter.

She's just desperate to explain some reason to stay in, and picked a bad way to put it. Problem is, her "real" meaning is a moot point in the current primary schedule.

Indiana Jones

Please do not waste your money on the new Indiana Jones movie. Stupid is an understatement for this film. Harrison Ford looked older than Sean Connery, huffing and puffing around the scenes. He looked like he was about to pass out from an asthmatic attack from the whole time.

And Spielberg deserves a special award for doing the impossible: getting the talents of Shia Labeouf and Cate Blanchett together on a project and still making a film that's completely absurd. LaBeouf did his best to save the film and he definitely stole some scenes from Ford - but even still his character was dopey. And poor Blanchett, her character was like something out of a bad episode of  Rocky and Bulwinkle.

And don't get me started on the absurd action sequences. A nuclear bomb goes off and he survives by hiding in a refrigerator, which is tossed a mile away and he jumps out and watches the mushroom cloud? Not to mention diving into a giant waterfall and swimming away like nothing happened. Oh, and the boat gets riddled with bullet holes but magically floats once they put it in water?

The CGIs were so bad they distracted from the story in several places. More than once I found myself groaning at the total absurdity of a scene.

Save your money from this one.

Hey candance, dont' hate on

Hey candance, dont' hate on Harrison being old and in an action movie. You ever watch Barnaby Jones chase a young black hood through a parking deck and finish with a tackle ? Heck, Buddy Ebsen had to have been pushing at least a hundred then.

it's okay Blazer

If Ford has acted with some passion, it would have been different. He spent the whole time acting bored and annoyed and he had no chemistry with Shia LaBeouf at all. Sean Connery is old but still looks cool. Liam Neeson is old but cool. Harrison Ford has not aged well at all.

At last count Harrison

At last count Harrison would be about 66 now. So he should try out for roles where he has on spectacles and wears a shawl. Heck, he'd be great as the new "Werthers" butterscotch candy spokesman. : )

Well, candance, it so

Well, candance, it so happens I just got back from seeing the flick. My son wanted his birthday party at the theater, and delayed it for this opening.

I don't know, maybe I'm just easy. I was fairly well entertained. Yeah, it was a bit outrageous, and some of the effects were cheesy, but I wouldn't give it a thumbs down.

Karen Allen struck me as not having aged well. But overall I thought it was decent escapism.

escapism

It's all bacon. I'm just really picky about watching movies I enjoy and one of my pet peeves is bad CGI/unbelievable action.

I was willing to go along with The Matrix because the virtual reality thing was a good explanation. Prince Caspian was good because the Narnians employed magic and flying animals. But the action in this was just too over the top for me. I swear some of these scenes were borrowed from an episode of Scooby Doo.

Aliens? Spaceships buried under a Mayan temple? Does George Lucas have a one track mind now? It was like Indiana Jones and the Case of the Lost X File.

Sorry, if you enjoyed it then that's cool. I'm not saying you're stupid or unenlightened. I've just always been picky about which movies I like and this one pushed all my buttons.

"It was like Indiana Jones

"It was like Indiana Jones and the Case of the Lost X File."

ROTFLMAO!

Can't argue with that!   ;^)

Indiana Jones

Saw it Thursday, and I have to say I enjoyed it. Yeah, it's outlandish, but, anymore outlandish than the others? It's what I expected from an Indiana Jones movie. Heck, in the Temple of Doom, they escaped from a crashing plane in an inflatable raft!

LOL Bal

The other films came out when I was a child (eight years old when the third one was released) and I honestly haven't watched them since. When you're a child you don't notice unrealistic action.

Since then my taste in movies has gotten a little more sophisticated. I usually watch Chicago, Shakespeare in Love, The Seven Year Itch, stuff like that. I only went to see this because of the nostalgia of liking the franchise.

If I'd watched an old for a better reference I probably wouldn't have gone.

Cand, I'm a sucker for the

Cand, I'm a sucker for the good ol' blue-screen and models or matte paintings, CGI may have been too technical in some instances or way expensive back then, but the former was time and labor intensive and harder to pull off.  Today it's easy, hell most of us could do it at home on a P.C. I think blue screen, models and matte looks a lot more believable and richer than most of the CGI crap hitting the silver screen these day's.

At the same time if for 90 or 120 minutes I can forget about the real world while in a dark theatre, I'll relish the movie no matter how cheesy or unbelievable it is.

Just my two cents here....been reading the thread in between normal life here at home...enjoying it all too.

Oh crap. My wife twisted my arm to go on Monday and now I can't get out of it.

I've always considered Indy on the "fantasy" end of the spectrum with the magic and the ancient-spiritualism and all.

Hearing this is more sci-fi is a real letdown now.

Remember Supergirl with Faye Dunaway?  Same thing IMO.

Bal,

I can't say I'm going to try too hard to get out of it. I'm so pathetic.  I'm George Lucas' whipping boy. It's an exercise in pure masochism for me. I even paid full price to see Howard the Duck.

I can't ever forgive Lucas for ruining the Star Wars prequels. He drained ever ounce of fun out of them.

I think he forgot how to make a movie entertaining in his directing hiatus.

But whether or not he is old depends upon which side of the age scale you're viewing him from :-)

or "The Karate

or "The Karate Kid"?

Every time I see the Indy jones movie trailer, I think "moose und squirrel"...

"Please do not waste your

"Please do not waste your money on the new Indiana Jones movie."

Too late.

TCM was promoting their

TCM was promoting their movie lineup tonight. The host stated that, to celebrate the holiday weekend, Turner Movie Classics is presenting three-ANTI-WAR classics:

PATHS OF GLORY

RED BADGE OF COURAGE

BREAKER MORANT

All three are good movies, but the host stating this seemed a bit out-of-place.

Oh well, the Penguinis are on, so ta-ta.

Rog

Rog,

These are anti-war classics? Wow. "Paths" and "Breaker" are two of my favorite films of all time. Top 20 list both. I never considered them anti-war per se.

In fact, "Breaker" is somewhat a remake of "Paths" set in a different war and a different part of the world. But anti-war? Certainly not. Both of these films are about the horror and the politics involved in war. But neither in my view expressed a negative view of the respective wars involved.

Do you see it differently, Rog? ns

No, I thought that the guy

No, I thought that the guy stated they were "anti-war" was odd. I always loved "Breaker Morant", too. I remember getting into both that movie and "Gallipoli" at the same time, back in college.

dodging bullets

Wasn’t Bill Clinton at that time dodging bullets out on the Santa Monica highway, or something like that?

Impunitas semper ad deteriora invitat.

Good grief, what's the big

Good grief, what's the big deal? Is the language policing that liberals have brought into American society something that conservatives are going to start being a proud part of too? I won't. I will critique the media for how they handle something, yes, and I will critique actual words if I see them as something worthy of critique, but as for a direct thought on what Hillary said, my thought is...."BIG DEAL...SO WHAT!"

Did Bobby Kennedy get assassinated during a campaign? Yes, he did, and it's probably the most widely known example of a something tragic happening in a presidential campaign, one people could look at and get an understanding of why she stays in the race. Bobby Kennedy would have been the Democrat nominee, if not for the tragic event that ended that, and his life. And then, perhaps President, changing American history (good or bad) from that point forward. Is her reasoning good or bad? I don't know, I don't care. But what she said about Bobby Kennedy, I have no problem with that.

As I Submitted to Matt

Oh c'mon Matt that headline was a bit over the top  ya?

I'm all for whalloping these wackos at every chance   -  but let's not wander into the mire with them

 Respectfully submitted

I knew what she was inferring

but she is so flustered and weak that what she meant was so weak that it came out as a further blunder - she cannot keep up with both lies and being exposed for her agenda

I find it kinda sad  but I'm losing no sleep over it

The Maxine Waters incident almost makes it seem as they are caving so badly SOMETHING is making them blurt out what they really are

 divine intervention?

 hehe

notice the MSM is backstroking making it even more obvious how stupid they think we are
