Wal-mart Doesn't sell it, Walgreens doesn't sell it, many places don't sell it because it's offensive to some of their customers. The government certainly shouldn't be condoning it. That is quite different from banning it.
I could care less if people buy or view pornography. Pornography doesn't offend me. That isn't the point. The point is, it rightly offends people and is not something the government should be in the business if distributing. At the very least it could be deemed sexist. If the company I worked for had an on site store with pornography I think they could get in trouble with the law if their female workers were offended.

Also the government is not buying it for them, lots of the stores on many bases are privately owned. The government is trying to actually ban the sale rather than not provide it.
I would fear that this might set a precedent that might ban the possesion of anything deemed indecent. Let me ask you this, would you be against the possesion of Playboy or Penthouse on a military base?

When I ask them to name some laws that have even come close to passing in the last couple decades, they can't come up with one.
I tell them I can name dozens of laws where liberals have imposed their beliefs by law on others. There are seat-belt laws, smoking laws, abortion laws, banning ID in schools, forcing sex ed (which I don't have a problem with) and many others.
Shawn and this other guy sit there and compare this to Sheria law and it's absurd. They can't tell the difference between making a law that forces something on people vs one that keeps the government out of the issue.

Am feeling a sense of nostalgia for President Bush already. Despite his numerous shortcomings (immigration, spending, etc.), I have so much respect for this man’s conviction and steadfastness. And the beating he has taken over the past 7-1/2 years… but he hasn’t responded with bitterness.
