For general discussion and debate. Possible talking point: Do Tina Fey and Cokie Roberts's feminist expressions over the weekend suggest a serious problem for Democrats if Obama wins the nomination?
Consider that in January, when the Clintons played the race card, there was concern that an Obama loss could further disenfranchise black voters thereby seriously costing the Democrats in the general election.
Using that same logic, are there female Democrats and Independents that might, like Billie Jean King, feel cheated if Hillary loses, and decide to stay home in November?

Not lost in the telling was that after Kennedy's cowardly act of omission, Kruschev read it as a green light to arm Cuba with missiles.
Well, America, if you want another Kennedy, just vote for Bambi. He'll slaughter Iraqi's with his hasty retreat (hope our troops have plenty of butt armor as they obediently follow the command of their bold new leader. God help them)

Simply put, it was a chickensh!t cowardly thing to do. Kennedy had the intel and the communication apparatus to alert the attackers of his decision, but he chose not to tell them.

Yes...the air support that was provided was part of the invasion plans. The air support that was not provided--but may have been expected--was not part of the invasion plans. It is highly unlikely a full-scale air assault by the U.S. Air Force would have made any difference as far as the ultimate success of the invasion given the mistaken assessment of Cuban support for Castro.

No. He should not be CinC
February 25, 2008 - 09:02 ET by JWFNo. It is Obama's problem with the military that is scary. He is making Kerry look like a true patriot. His gaffes when it comes to the flag and military are laughable.
1. The flag pin: he removed his flag pin because it is a substitute for true patriotism? Honoring the flag is the highest form of patriotism. It is the symbol of our country. It flies at every embassy & military installation around the world. The United States flag is the last thing a veteran receives before he is put in the ground.
2. Hand over his heart: there is a picture of him failing to place his hand over his heart during the playing national anthem whilst the flag is displayed. Another issue of patriotism? Uh, IT'S THE LAW! The flag code is part of the laws of this country.
3. He says we are "air raiding villages and killing civilians": apparently his knowledge of the military stops at WWII. We have made amazing strides in precision guided munitions. I have been retired six years and I am amazed. They are getting so good that there are efforts to make them smaller now. So our troops can be acrosss the street when a house with insurgents is hit, for example. They can be closer and therefore able to rush in and mop up. This country takes extreme efforts to minimize civilian casualties. The only reason civilians are killed, I suspect, is because the enemy takes cover by mixing in with them.
4. He wants to invade our friends (Pakistan) and talk to our enemies (Iran) : Do I need to expound on that?
5. His latest gaffe. "And as a consequence, they didn't have enough ammunition, they didn't have enough humvees. They were actually capturing Taliban weapons, because it was easier to get Taliban weapons than it was for them to get properly equipped by our current commander in chief." : For one thing, an army never has enough vehicles, ships & planes. Congress pays for those, not the CinC. Scrounging weapons off the enemy dead? That borders on a lie. He is the only one on the planet making this extraordinary claim. Why is he not being called to back this up?
The president is the man in charge of the military. This guy is not ready to be an entry level enlisted boot.

Rice for President
February 25, 2008 - 09:55 ET by ArchConservativeWell let's put it this way: they have been trying to destroy Condi Rice ever since she was appointed. The left has done nothing but make fun of her looks (racially) and the fact that she is a woman. If she were a (d)emocrat, she would be praised for being a leader but, like Clarence Thomas, she is disparged and despised and loathed and deemed fair game for anti-black and ant-woman cartoons, articles, and tirades on shows like Bill Maher.
When people like Lynn Swann or Michael Steele run for positions of power they are shunned by the NAACP and so-called leaders in the black community. But when you don't want to vote for a black (d)emocrat, you are a racist. You are a hateful white voter. If you don't vote for the woman, you hate women. You feel they belong in the kitchen.
It's the left's constant attempt to try to stifle debate by trying to paint conservatives as racists and bigots. It's just nice to see their party being destroyed by the same playbook they've been trying to do to us for decades.
The left doesn't care about who would be a better President, they only see things like they always do: along racial and gender boundries. Idiotic.
I hope these two absolutely decimate each other and their party.

McCain gets zinger of the weekend award
February 25, 2008 - 11:53 ET by Jack BauerFunniest line of the Oscar weekend... came not from Hollywood, but from John MCain, and got no play in the commie loving media, of course.
Asked about Fidel Castro, McCain said...
Fav Oscar moments from last
February 25, 2008 - 12:10 ET by balboaFav Oscar moments from last night:
Jon Stewart saying "that guy is so arrogant" after the winners from "Once" left the stage. Then bringing Marketa Irglova back on stage to make her speech.
Marion Cotillard's speech, along with Bardem's.
Oscar tribute to waking up from a bad dream.
Stewart playing Wii with the singer from "August Rush."
Seth Rogen and Noah what's-his-name presenting.

Holy crap, Bal, you have really inspired me to watch the show next year...

February 25, 2008 - 14:52 ET by balboaLol. I know. I'm still licking my wounds from the beating Noel gave me last night. :-)
Stewart wasn't super edgy, but he had nice lines.
Lol Roger - if you doze off from reading the highlights then
February 25, 2008 - 14:26 ET by Dee Bunkyou better stay away from the show. You could like my highlights just a tiny bit better (but I'm sure you'd hate the show) I recorded the show and fast forwarded through much of it but tried to catch most of Jon Stewart's lines.
I liked when he mocked the Iraq War movies and turned the libs words against them by saying that even though they were failures, they should hold the course and keep making them despite what the audience says. He was being sarcastic of course -and implied that it's overkill how many they keep making.
Another favorite part was when he told the person with the jumbo jet license plate number such and such to please move their jet because it was blocking something. He also joked not to worry that they jet was a hybrid.
Third favorite moment was when he said that the Oscars were going green by making the Actors walk all the way to the microphone.
Ann Hood on Morning Joe
February 25, 2008 - 12:26 ET by BayshoremanDid anyone catch Ann Hood (“The Knitting Circle”) on Morning Joe today? She and Bubbles were talking about her NYT article “I Married a Republican: There, I Said It” and about how she and Bubbles grew up in heavily Democratic families and socialize in like-minded Democratic circles of friends.
It was like a watching a Behar/O’Donnell segment on The View. I just sat there stunned listening to the two of them laughing away about how their Democratic friends and family despise and absolutely hate everything and EVERYBODY Republican. It would have been a perfect opportunity for Joe or Willie to intervene with a quick jab question to the two of them about how that could possibly be given the Democrats are the Party and People who stand for compassion, inclusiveness, and above all…unconditional LOVE!!!!!
Alas, Ann and Bubbles (or this case Chuckles) went unchallenged.
A Little Morning Humor
February 25, 2008 - 12:30 ET by OldSailor88A friend of mine just sent me this email. Enjoy.
A young woman was about to finish her first year of college. Like so many others her age, she considered herself to be a very liberal Democrat, and among other liberal ideals, was very much in favor of higher taxes to support more government programs, in other words, redistribution of wealth.
She was deeply ashamed that her father was a rather staunch Republican, a feeling she openly expressed. Based on the lectures that she had participated in, and the occasional chat with a professor, she felt that her father had for years harbored an evil, selfish desire to keep what he thought should be his.
One day she was challenging her father on his opposition to higher taxes on the rich and the need for more government programs. The self-professed objectivity proclaimed by her professors had to be the truth and she indicated so to her father.
He responded by asking how she was doing in school. Taken aback, she answered rather haughtily that she had a 4.0 GPA, and let him know that it was tough to maintain, insisting that she was taking a very difficult course load and was constantly studying, which left her no time to go out and party like other people she knew. She didn't even have time for a boyfriend, and didn't really have many college friends because she spent all her time studying.
Her father listened then asked, 'How is your friend Audrey doing?' She replied, 'Audrey is barely getting by. All she takes are easy classes, she never studies, and she barely has a 2.0 GPA. She is so popular on campus; college for her is a blast. She's always invited to all the parties, and lots of times she doesn't even show up for classes because she's too hung over.'
Her father asked her, 'Why don't you go to the Dean's office and ask him to deduct a 1.0 off your GPA and give it to your friend Audrey, who only has a 2.0. That way you will both have a 3.0 GPA and certainly that would be a fair and equal distribution of GPA.'
The daughter, visibly shocked by her father's suggestion, angrily fired back, 'That's a crazy idea. How would that be fair? I've worked really hard for my grades! I've invested a lot of time, and a lot of hard work. Audrey has done next to nothing toward her degree. She played while I worked my tail off!'
The father slowly smiled, winked and said gently, 'Welcome to the Republican Party.'

Richard Nixon would split this into a landslide
February 25, 2008 - 13:38 ET by Lame CherryWhat has come about in this 2008 election is a golden opportunity to cement a Republican landslide and Richard Nixon if he was here could engineer it as he is a tactical genius in politics.
In his roll, I will fill in in repeating what I have posted here in parts.
First, Hillary is toast and is now in the race to weaken Obama so her racist white guys can get back the nomination. The white guy is Al Gore and his buddy Mike Bloomberg.
This action by the cartel exposes the black vote and female vote for pealing off from the Democrats.
Second, John McCain needs to put a Conservative female on the ticket. I pick Lynn Cheney as she would quell the Conservative storm, bring in women voters and bring in a percentage of sodomite vote. That turn as I have stated would give McCain the base and a 10 percent gap by pulling 5% off of Obama. That means a landslide for him.
Third, with Obama in the Nifong tank like Scooter Libby, he could be rehabilitated in the general election by hands across the water McCain. McCain can promise a pardon and a cabinet position and Obama files in the "black vote". That 10% all of a sudden expands to 20% and that equates a GOP Congressional landslide.
Fourth, McCain needs to make peace with that dunce Huckabee by offering him a cabinet post. Huckabee campaigning in the south means a double digit lead in sweeping those states for the GOP.
Fifth, Al Gore is open to devastating attacks from the GOP along with Bloomberg on "global warming" scams. Once the GOP points out billions have been given to rich people while the poor have been struggling........it is checkmate on Gore.
The entire sturcture of the New York Times which drives these globalists is now prime for attack. Rupert Murdoch in economic terms can assail the Times and in media terms can "put out the story".
As I broke here last night exclusively on Newsbusters, the New York Times ACQUIRED about.com. About.com COLLECTS CONSUMER INFORMATION as in SPYING ON AMERICANS just like Google does. As this is evil when George Bush does it on terrorists..........what will Americans conclude when they find out the Times is keeping files on them???????
I sincerely hope McCain's people or someone with some contacts starts getting these words into the rotating power's hands as this 2008 is ripe for the splitting of the DNC to splinter it and mash it to a second rate party status.
PS: And that little Mexican chic who was Hillary's "number one" who was cast aside is a sledge hammer on the Democrats.......was she Hillary's lezbo sexer? was she cast aside to let the white boys rule? were Hispanic voters deemed too stupid to save Hillary or did they cost her the election?
Nixon would be asking these questions based upon published stories in the real MSM. That is the how politics is played and if John McCain and the GOP don't start getting into this game now with a battle plan...........John McCain is going to be the topic of being Strangecain, Sugarcain, McCocaine etc......
The cartel is splintering both parties..........aid Nader........put on a chic GOP Conservative, exploit the fissures and it is a landslide.
My name is not Nixon, but I know this game in inspiration. This is how you get it done.
