CSU plays Wyoming at Fort
November 23, 2007 - 13:59 ET by wiwfCSU plays Wyoming at Fort Collins (Hughes Stadium) at noon today! This is the Border War, and we're playing for the Bronze Boot in the 108th matchup between the two teams. No bowl games are stake, but that shouldn't stop it from being an intense rivalry game!
GO RAMS!

November 23, 2007 - 19:05 ET by stratmanI'm rooting for the Cowboys.
Had a friend that went to CSU while I was at U. of W. Good times back then except for the fiberglass bench seats in the stadium in Laramie that left splinters in your backside.
Go Brown and Gold!
Killing them with kindness isn't working. Time to get scrappy with the Donkeys.

November 23, 2007 - 20:22 ET by stratmanCongratulations CSU and wiwf!
Cowboys were outgunned, outmanned, suffered a key error and just plain ran out of gas. Still, it sounds like it was a good game.
See you next year.

November 23, 2007 - 20:23 ET by scamoramaUnless Missouri beats them tomorrow.
If that happens, does West Virginia have the points to move to #1, or will the "Wrong OSU" leap to the top?

November 23, 2007 - 14:21 ET by Airforce_5_OWe will find out if Colt Brennan is for real tonight. Ark has got a good chance of knocking off LSU but I don't see it.
Hey but College Basketball is here too.
GO HEELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They have 6 games on the road before they see home again on Dec 19. With a possible match up with #9 Louisville in Vegas. Got to get past OD tonight first. We find out how much metal the Heels have in the next couple weeks.
The Good- The Heels
The Bad- NC State
The Ugly- Duke

Kyle Singler not "ugly"
November 23, 2007 - 15:01 ET by scamoramaYou'll all be singing the praises of Kyle Singler before this season is over. He's the real deal.
And the ACC looks like Basketball Heaven again.
Brennan for Heisman!
Hey Sarc
November 23, 2007 - 15:34 ET by ricklailNext week is going to be tough for Heels. On Wednesday they play Ohio State in Columbus. I think this is part of the made for ESPN ACC-Big Ten Challenge. On Saturday they play Kentucky at Rupp. I know that both OSU and KY have lost games to lesser opponents. They will be gunning for the Heels to the get their pride back.
The last I looked NC State was losing to USC. (Can't stand State so I am not watching just checking the score.) They have already lost one.
Bring on DOOK.

UT vs. A&M
November 23, 2007 - 14:30 ET by JoelCTThe Texas Longhorns play the Texas A&M Aggies today. So the question I have for this game is, should I dig into the leftover pumpkin pie before the 'Horns whoop up on the Aggies, during the whooping, or after the whooping has been completed?
And how much Cool Whip can I put on my pie before it is considered "too much"?
Joel }:-
November 23, 2007 - 14:38 ET by botgAll the pie you want is fine, hold the whipped cream until OSU wins (could be tough with Bradley back)

Does this make sense? Butch
November 23, 2007 - 15:21 ET by ricklailDoes this make sense? Butch Davis is 3-8 at UNC going into tomorrow's game with DOOK. On Wednesday he was given another year on his contract and a $200,000+ year raise. I know part of it is the fear that he will bolt for Arkansas. It is going to cost him 3 million to do that.
Lloyd Carr was forced to resign with an 8-4 record.
Tommy Bowden 8-3 at Clem's son, Houston Nutt is 7-4 at Arkansas and Phat Phil Fulmer is 8-3 at Rocky Top are probably going to be fired after the season not matter what their teams do today/tomorrow.
What do these schools expect? From the way this season has gone 8-4 or 7-5 are pretty good records. Figuring the Heels beat DOOK, 4-8 is an improvement to me. I don't think it merits a raise and another year on the contract but it is beter than 1-11.

Fulmer's job is safe,
November 23, 2007 - 15:43 ET by mikejFulmer's job is safe, although as a UT fan, I think it is just about time for him to retire. At least get rid of some of the assistant coaches that are only there because they are his friends.
BTW, wasn't there a big stink last year or a few years ago about the term "Black Friday" being racist?
There was an article..
November 23, 2007 - 17:10 ET by dervish... in the local rag about Phil's wanting to get another national championship under his -- well, ON his belt before he retires.
And you thought Bowden and JoePa had long careers...
Update on Butch Davis
November 23, 2007 - 18:20 ET by ricklailHere's an an article that just came out on the Butch Davis raise. After reading the article does anybody care to venture a guess on William Friday's politics? Hint he used to be the head of the UNC system.

November 24, 2007 - 00:02 ET by BlondeIf (& when) my Gators down Sr. Bowden...I expect a little help from you.
ESPN and Nissan are sponsoring a contest for the Heisman award. The top vote getter will get ONE official vote towards the actual Heisman Trophy
award. Please send the link below to as many Gator fans as you know and ask them to vote for Tim Tebow. You can cast one vote every day until
the end of the contest. Go Gators.

Tebow
November 24, 2007 - 06:51 ET by ricklailYou ought to hear the Arkansas fans calling into SNR screaming for McFadden based on the game yesterday. My gosh he put the ball on the ground 3 times losing one. He has been very inconsitent all season. Where was he during mid season? They were saying give him 170 more carries and there would be no doubt as to who should win it. Sorry Hogs, he had his chance and blew it.
I have voted for Tebow-twice. Had Matt Ryan not lost those 2 games, especially to FSU, he would be giving him a run for his money. If the Heisman voters are fair, then it is Tebow hands down.
By the way I just found out that our Lt.Governor, Beverly Purdue, was a Gator grad. She is a liberal assed Dem. I wouldn't send the link to her. She is a snake in the grass just like the Hillary Rotten.

What a screwed up mess
November 23, 2007 - 20:23 ET by ricklailDoes anyone want to guess who will be in the BSC championship? I never thought that Arkansas would beat LSU.
I wonder if this saves Houston Nutt's job.
I am pulling for Kentucky to beat the Vols. I think the Dawgs have a better chance of beating LSU than Tenn for the SEC championship.
This whole BCS thing is a big mess. We need a playoff system in Divsion 1.
Ohio State and West "By God" Virgina in the championship game? Going to have to wait until at least next weekend to find out.

November 23, 2007 - 20:46 ET by ricklailIt does raise the stakes. But what happens if KU beats Mizzu and then loses to OSU in the Big 12 championship? They will probably not even get a BCS bid.

November 23, 2007 - 21:11 ET by botgi agree there is way too much up in the air and games to be played yet. They need at least four teams (8 is better) to determine a true national champion.

College Football Shame
November 23, 2007 - 21:33 ET by King of the BritonsMajor college football needs a playoff - bottom line. The fact that there is so much debate about who is number one and two proves that even the "experts" determine who truly is the best team in college football. It is the only way that a Boise State can ever win a national championship. Because in the current system, they will never go to the BCS championship game. I am sick of "experts" deciding who "deserves" to play for the national championship in college football. I love college football, but it is seriously flawed in it the way it determines its champion.

Playoffs
November 23, 2007 - 22:08 ET by taterTomorrow I think the whole nation will see how big (and heated) the KU-Mizzou rivalry actually is. I've seen the front lines of it and I'm a little biased but I think it's bigger rivalry than Michigan-OSU, Alabama-Auburn, and Duke-UNC. It all started due to the Civil war and Jayhawkers and Tigers burning down each other's towns in the name of abolishonists and slavery. The hatred is deep rooted.
Still even though this has been KU's best football season since...forever, I'd like to see a playoff. KU and Mizzou at least have a two game playoff if they win both games (the other being the big XII championship).
