Guiliani Clarifying Position With NRA?

I saw on Drudge this morning that Rudi is spending the day with the NRA to "clarify" his position on guns. This is where I see the biggest difference between Fred Thompson and Rudi/Mitt. Fred's position on guns has always been consistent, so he has no need to "clarify" his position. The reason that Rudi/Mitt have to do this is that their positions have always been cloudy and mixed. So, why should the NRA believe that the new "clarified" position will be the one they'll have if they win the White House?

Note to News Busters

Note to News Busters editors:

In the last hour of Fox and Friends this morning Newt Gingrich told Steve Ducey that the NYTimes will be taking Iranian Pres. Ahma-you-know-who (he whose name I refuse to speak) to LUNCH at The Four Seasons Restaurant while he is "in town" ...

Just incase you want to "check" on that ...

The Four Seasons "meeting" with Ahmadinnerjacket was a joke

Laura Ingraham explained on her program this AM that she had said that to Newt as a joke, even identifying it as a joke at the time.

Apparently, Newt either mis-understood her or he wasn't listening.

Yes, I should have noted the update I posted below here so as to head off any confusion. Ah, well ... As Dan Rather would say, "Fake but accurate" ...

Apparently, Newt needs to wear a "sarc/off" switch that others can activate as necessary when talking to him....     ;^>

I may be slow on the draw,

I may be slow on the draw, but in this week's column Ann Coulter freely admits to dancing on tables at frat houses in college and following the Grateful Dead after graduation. She also refers to vacationing in Paris recently, which flies in the face of her usual anti-France rhetoric.

This is a side of Coulter I have never seen, and I'm intrigued.

Absolutely!! ;)

I have found that the left often believes conservative political ideology automatically equals conservative beliefs and behaviors across all areas of life, and this is simply not true.

I can drink beer just like the liberals.  I just don't happen to believe a government program should be set up to pay for mine.

Hey, I'm with you there.

Hey, I'm with you there. And conversely, liberals can go to church and be in monogamous relationships. Seriously.

Right, Leon, you know those conservatives, especially the Christian ones, are "poor, uneducated, and easily led."

No, dscott, not from eggs, but Leon and others think that conservatives are all like Alex P. Keaton parody on the old Family Ties, that started wearing suits and ties at 11, and buying stocks and planning to make a killing in the stock market at 13.

So it amazes them that conservatives were ever college students having a good time.

I used to always love to

I used to always love to read Ann's writings, but I had to turn her off whenever she was on TV. She always seemed to have a tough time making a point verbally, and tended to wander in her thoughts. She would start going down one path, and suddenly switch off to another. I never encountered that in her writings, which were smart, witty, and to the point. Where she lost me a bit in the written area was when I read the back of "How to Talk to Liberals" and she starts talking about how she has a couple of guys helping her to write. I had to wonder how much of what I read is Ann, and how much of it is Bob and Dick?

No blog on GW today so here's a start...there's always a "BUT"

Good news...

Climate change may lead to lush growth rather than catastrophic tree loss in the Amazonian forests, researchers from the US and Brazil have found. A study, in the journal Science, found that reduced rainfall had led to greener forests, possibly because sunlight levels are higher when there are fewer rainclouds.

But scientists cautioned that while the finding raises hopes for the survival of the forests, there are still serious threats. Climate models have suggested that the forests will suffer as the region becomes drier and will release huge quantities of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.

I would, however, make the prediction that DICK once again lives up to his first name many times before the election.

I believe Hillary Rhodam will be the next president, as well. There are now just too many in this country who believe that their healthcare, along with many other things, should be someone else's responsibility.

I also agree with Dick Morris (I usually don't) that, once her healthcare-plan-from-hell (and that is exactly where it is from) is instituted, and it will be instituted, there will be no possible way to undo it. Ever.

Public Reaction

General David Petraeus' popularity and approval is on the rise since his appearances before Congress, despite criticism from Democrats and the now-famous MoveOn.org ad calling him "General Betray-Us."

A Gallup Poll shows Petraeus' favorability rating at 61 percent — up from 52 before his testimony. A survey from the Pew Research Center indicates 57 percent of respondents who read or heard about the general's remarks approve of his plan. And 51 percent say they believe Petraeus was presenting an accurate picture of the conditions in Iraq.

I agree, Dave, I wish I

I agree, Dave, I wish I didn't, but I think President HRC is in our future. God only knows why. We have gone beyond politicians making a case for their proposals. We are now in an age where the politician with the best campaign staff, the best operation, the most money, the best "ground game" wins. And that is Mrs. Clinton. That's why the media measure probabilies of election by fundraising success and which "endorsements" (i.e. guarantees of large blocs of votes) a candidate has.

I also agree that she will choose Bill Richardson. I know the so-called "smart money" is on a Clinton/Obama ticket. But frankly, she has no need for Obama. What do you think, blacks are going to stay home or vote Republican if he's not on the ticket? It's the Hispanics, the new largest minority group in the country, that she has to kiss up to.

Good News From New Hampshire

New Hampshire's favorite Looney Toon, far-left nut Katrina Swett, bailed out of the NH Senate race today.

For those who don't recognize the name, Katrina's the daughter of California Looney Toon member of Congress Tom Lantos, who made a fool out of himself last week by calling General Petraeus a liar before he even started his testimony.

The Pez dispenser's excuse for dropping out? Former NH Governor Jeanne Shaheen announced she was running for the same seat.

Del:

Does Shaheen pose a threat to Sununu? Down here in the moonbat cave known as the Kommonwealth of Massachusetts, the comrades seem pretty confident that the seat is ripe
