September 4, 2007 - 10:12 ET by rimskyI just want to know that Katie is home from Iraq, safe and sound, and ready to set us all straight on what is really happening over there.
I think this is where I'm supposed to say, <sarc off>, or some such..

September 4, 2007 - 12:30 ET by MikeB"Can Iraq become the model democracy of which we dreamed?"
No, but then, the United States is not a model democracy. It isn't even a model republic. It never has been, and never will be, for the same reason Marxism never worked and never will work: humans. But, even a flawed democracy or flawed republic is better than a flawed marxist state.
Mr. Peters makes a lot of sense in his article. I am surprised to find it printed in a New York newspaper, although the Post is not the den of vipers the Times is.

Calendar adjustments
September 4, 2007 - 10:17 ET by mattmIt got to be September so fast because the summer months are too short. So here's what I propose:
Take the 31st of January and add it to April and take the 30th of January and add it to June.
This will take two days off of Winter and add them to spring and summer!

September 4, 2007 - 10:25 ET by BruzillaI was just reading some more panic about the Thompson campaign. I think it's hillarious that all these pundits will talk on and on about how the voters want change... demand change... will vote for someone who brings change... etc., then when someone comes along and actually changes the way business is done, the pundits freak! They shout "he can't win unless he does what everyone else is doing!!!"
I hope Fred wins just to show these dweebs how little they know about Americans.

September 4, 2007 - 12:10 ET by Clear thinkerBruz...
I would like to add, the pundits are clueless. I followed Fred's campaign when he ran in TN, and I thought he did an amazing job. No, he did not run exactly like everyone else runs. So does this mean he can't win? No it doesn't, obviously.
For those of you that follow the pundits advice at every turn are doomed to lose. If you beleive in the same things that Fred does, you will stick with him and support him. As he has already stated..."I am the only candidate who is a true conservtive".
BTW... I already my 'Fred '08' sticker on my autos.

I was watching an interview
September 4, 2007 - 14:10 ET by BruzillaI was watching an interview between Fred and Sean Hannity last night, and Hannity asked Fred if he would like to take some time to offer an opinion on Hillary. He said that now wasn't the time for that, and he declined to make any comments about her. It was a nice change from the typical pol who would say "Sean, I'm not going to engage in name calling or attacks. It's beneath me. If my opponent wants to lower herself and attack me, like she did when she said that I'm a blah, blah, blah" and engage in negatives while supposedly decrying their use.
No need for attacks -
September 4, 2007 - 16:18 ET by FastEdall that needs to be done is point out what she has said or NOT done. Just surprise them with facts, and use her own words to combat their attacks - they can't deal in logic or facts.

September 4, 2007 - 10:44 ET by HelenSWell, I thought about it but then realized that they were all up the road in McClean protesting the fact that SOME actually want to make criminal activity illegal. What are we thinking?! Yesterday was a day for illegals to protest the idea that we consider illegals to be ...well, illegal.
So I did my own damn gutters.

September 4, 2007 - 10:55 ET by dscottMore good intentions from our friends at the UN: http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2007/09/unicef_the_killer.html How many more miles does one need to pave on the road to Hell before it becomes evident that projects run by a corrupt organization will yield corrupt results??? How many more childen will be aided to die by this organization like the UN did with the Nestle' company's powdered baby formula fiasco??? You would think after encouraging mother's to mix baby formula with locally tainted water the first time around it would make someone cautious??? Is this some form of population control, killing them with good intentions?
I wonder if the P&G PUR system advocated by the Clinton Foundation will filter out the arsenic or bacteria???

September 5, 2007 - 16:52 ET by SportPoliticsWord is of the 70 million Bangladeshi's- they think 40 million have cases of arsenic poisoning from the hundreds of thousands of UN/UNICEF sanctioned hand pump wells that replaced the Bangladeshi "dirty surface water" drinking .... the local people called the undergorund well water "the devil's brew" or something like that - while the UNICEF and UN NGO's laughed at their "superstitions"...
I see also THE UN/UNICEF COVERED UP THE ARSENIC POISONING FOR DECADES ON END....
Now, they have their 40 million poisoned Bangladeshis....out of 70 million....
HOLY CRAPIOLI....
Yes, this should be a MUCH BIGGER story than the Iraq war.... but it never will be ...
the big UN powers will NEVER allow this out to be an MSM "negligent genocide" story...
The people of Bangladesh can ONLY HOPE - that somehow GWB's signature can be connected to this- and that somehow his Texan Governorship years can even be blamed for it....
Then of course there would be immediate worldwide hatred and response... with e neverending monthly revisiting of the disaster....
GWB of course is only guilty for attempting to poison everyone in the USA with "slick wille last day on the doorstep way out" signature of water standards CLINTON FOR 8 YEARS NEVER IMPLEMENTED- BUT DECIDED A SICK *** PASS THE BUCK DOWN THE ROAD AND BLAME SOMEONE ELSE IN A POLITICAL BACKSTAB MOVE was the way to "protect the lives of US citizens.
Man that Clinton is a sick ****, and he knows just how sick and filled with lies the msm and their demolibidiot lying crew is too, and he USED them to make himself a hero and damage his political opponents in a gigantic UNFAIR LIE.
The press played along like braindead crybaby lying zombies... and they whipped the USA up into a gigantic froth...with their MASSIVE PARTISAN COVER-UP...

8 hurricanes now predicted for 2007
11:03 AM CDT on Friday, August 3, 2007
Associated Press
FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Hurricane researcher William Gray lowered his 2007 forecast slightly Friday, calling for 15 named storms, with eight becoming hurricanes and four becoming intense.
On May 31, at the outset of hurricane season, Gray had called for 17 named storms and nine hurricanes, five of them intense.
"We've lowered our forecast from our May predictions because of slightly less favorable conditions in the tropical Atlantic," said Philip Klotzbach, a member of Gray's team at Colorado State University.

September 4, 2007 - 14:05 ET by BruzillaI wish he would also explain why the first two named storms of this year, Andrea and Barry, which only attained tropical storm status for a very brief period of time, and showed little in the way of organization, managed to qualify as tropical storms? In the past we've had several major storms that had brief wind gusts that exceeded hurricane strength, but lacked organization, that were never named, but this year we're naming them. Also, the list of storm names has always been for storms over the Atlantic Ocean. Now we're using these names for storms (previously known as typhoons) occuring over the Pacific.
It seems to me like the weather guessers and doom&gloomers are worried that since El Nino, which produced all the 2004/2005 hurricanes, has turned, and we're now back to a typical storm pattern, that they need to run the count up as high as possible in order to maintain a shred of credibility.
Seems to me Bruzilla
September 5, 2007 - 16:59 ET by SportPoliticsthe press and the weatHer global warming kookballs tell the truth so little, that their big coverup lie by now naming Pacific storms is highly likely and probably correct, and that they will in all likelihood get away with it nearly 100% without a peep, and the msm will pretend to be blind and play along, and those in the newsrooms that do notice it will be silenced and not only that - be totally willing to be silenced and compliant no matter what, and probalby censor themselves and others, and help in the collusion and coverup- and even perpetrate it and force it upon everyone (not that they'ed have to force at all really - a simple "let us worry about that" comment/direction is sufficient I'm sure).
Yes, I'm that twisted - I totally believe it already. Not a shred of doubt about it. In fact it's probably worse than I have just imagined, and I just don't know all the angles they will employ with gleeful abandon "for the saving of the world" with THEIR LIES.
What WMD's?
September 4, 2007 - 11:22 ET by RangerTomHow and why did they bring this into the US? Where US officials notified? I thought this stuff was all destroyed according to the Duelfer commission? Some members of Congress
September 4, 2007 - 13:56 ET by BruzillaSome members of Congress have also been upset with the Iraqi government for not allowing all parties to have a say in how government is run. Our Republicans might have offered a different view if the Democrats hadn't been so busy trying to keep them from having a voice in our government.

September 5, 2007 - 17:04 ET by SportPoliticsat these jackasses guys ? Doing exactly to a tee and worse for years what they whine the Iraq government is doing.
It's is a SURE SIGN the Iraq government IS EXACTLY LIKE THEM - meaning of course "demolib idiot democracy" HAS A MASSIVE AND CERTAIN FOOTHOLD IN IRAQ -
AND THAT ALL IS WELL AND IT'S TOTAL VICTORY ALREADY....
DEMS - YOU'RE DOWN TO WHINING THAT THE IRAQ GOVERNMENT ACTS JUST EXACTLY LIKE YOU- YOU HAVE TAUGHT THEM WELL - MISSION ACCOMPLISHED !
Take that and SHOVE IT you know where, twist it, and really , really get into the severe pain of it all- your TWINS in IRAQ ruling the place in the form of GOVERNMENT ARE DOING EXACTLY WHAT YOU DO ALL THE TIME.

Whoppi
September 4, 2007 - 19:48 ET by jaywlShe showed how people with agendas will bend truth or show ignorance. Twice she said Vick's home was in the deep south, (deep, deep south the second time) to excuse his behavior. Newport News is not Selma, just another high crime, drug infested city no different than Newark, New Jersey. The culture Vick was brought up in no doubt influenced his dog fighting ways. If many people in your neighborhood walk around with killer dogs can you really be surprised there is a pit bull fight in the alley? Whoppi was right about culture, but don't blame the deep south which includes the black crescent, home of a majority black population, cotton and churches at every crossroad.
Whoopie Cushion did more than defend Vick
September 4, 2007 - 16:22 ET by RJShe took swipes at Red States and the South. She said it wasn't completely his fault because there was a culture in the South that accepted dog fighting. Of course, if it's a Southern thing, that makes me wonder why we also have it here in the Northeast....
I'm sure we'll see more of this foolish kind of thing from Ms. Goldberg, who apparently "knows what she knows."
Dog Fighting, Cock Fighting, Bull Fighting
September 4, 2007 - 16:34 ET by Chris NormanBefore they banned cock fighting in New Mexico this year, there were those who defended it as part of the "Latino culture" - so I guess that means we should also bring back bull fighting. Amazing, that there are those who will sacrifice morals and standards for a misplaced "loyalty" to their "race"...
