Possible talking point: Congress returns to work next week. Other than the war in Iraq and Petraeus's pending report, what will our legislators be addressing when they get back? Will the Democrats actually have an agenda besides Bush-bashing?

Will the Democrats actually have an agenda besides Bush-bashing?

Um....let's see.....uh.....No.

Morning mb... You beat me

Morning mb...

You beat me to the obvious answer.

LOL...

Good news/ bad news (for Me anyway)

The Good... Tina (My Daughter made Staff Sergeant on Her first try !

Bad news.. Austin (My SIL ) missed it by a mere 4 pts. And they are getting ready to deploy (again ) . One to Afghanistan , the other to Iraq . Now I know what My Dad was feeling when I'd deploy to SEA. I'm so proud of them that it hurts .Yet I'm also worried about them .

Nixon, Congratulations on

Nixon,

Congratulations on the good news.

You should be so very proud of these two.  I can perfectly understand how you'd be worried as well.

I thank them both, for their service, and you for being there for them.  I have not the words for my gratitude.

Blonde ThankYou for those

Blonde

ThankYou for those kind words . I will pass them along . We ( Myself ,and My wife ) just got back from visiting them recently . They are doing fine, and enjoying what they do . I even got one of their freinds hooked on NB ! The only thing that turned out bad about the trip was that I Didn't get to Meet AF50 !!! I left His contact info up here in PA :(

Nixon

you did good, thank-you and your troops

Staff Sergeant

I was on the list for Staff Sergeant for over year even when I was maxed out on almost everything (there were plenty of E-6's in my MOS).  Your sister-in-law will get it soon. Four points is just one correspondence course. I have known people who have missed by 1 point, now that has got to hurt.

SSG

My son in law, a Marine, is up for it now. Should know the 1st of October whether or not he gets it. He is currently serving as an instructor in signal intelligence at Corry Station, FL. There are not many with his MOS and their are not many in his detachment there so he should make it.

My other son in law is a reserve Navy Corpsman. He is attached to a Marine Reserve unit that is scheduled to deploy to Irag in December. He just made it.

I give them both a fit because I made it in 2 years in the Army, a lot fastest than they did. My MOS was 11C/11B. There were not a lot ahead of me.

It's all good nixon

It's all good nixon.

You, Tina and Austin's decision to serve your country in harsh times demonstrates your enviable character of the highest order putting you all at the of rank of America's best.

Thank you all for your service. Like Blonde I don't have words to express my gratitude to all of those that risk everything to make the world a better place.  May the good Lord continue to bless you, Tina, Austin and all the other men and women of our armed forces.

I agree

You bring up something I was awakened to rather smartly.  I served in Vietnam 37 years ago...my son was deployed in Iraq in '03.  I was very proud of him, of course, but what really hit me was the fact that I really now knew what my parents went through in 1970.  In fact, I consider my daughter-in-law a hero, supporting my son and taking care of my grandkids without complaint for the 16 months he was gone.

nixon, rick, bboss and all

nixon, rick, bboss and all others.

THANK YOU.

My gratitude is forever.

Democrats Agenda, Oxymoron

The Democrats will be back and once again with one agenda, to win in 2008.  They will only propose policies, close to their agenda, which they know the President will veto. They will also play a publicity game to try and get their ratings up, which means they'll soften their tone on Iraq, i.e. same message, different tone.

So, let's look forward to another year plus of Bush bashing and trying to hide their agenda.

Never argue with an idiot.  They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Hurricane Felix

Upgraded to Cat 2 this morning.  No news here in South Florida, but I expect the media will begin to ratchet it up to a fever pitch as the long range forecast has the northward range of the path once again in South Texas.

Will the media ever become resonsible about hurricane reporting?

Sorry...silly question.

what's really happening is a lack of very many storms so far this year.

Bruce, And that's a very

Bruce,

And that's a very good thing (to quote Martha).

But my point is that the media go absolutely Ga Ga over anything that remotely looks like it may have the words potential disaster somewhere around the edges of the story.

August & September are always the most worrisome months here...so we're about halfway home.  October storms are usually pretty tame, Wilma was an exception, and one which I believe to be unlikely to occur again.  Of course, understanding statistics, I also know that lightning can strike twice in the same place.

yes, a good thing

indeed, but it doesn't fit the AGW agenda so it's not on the radar

Mea Culpa

Oh dear, I'd forgotten all about how such a low activity season so far flies in the face of the Global Warming cause/effect paradigms.

Now the silence makes sense.  Thanks!

I can't figure this out. The middle part of the US has had record rains this summer. Global warming is the culprit. Here in NC as is true in the rest of the southeast we are having a drought courtsey of GW.  Drought and floods. It's all Bush's fault. I am going to be glad on 1-20-09 when the weather will return to normal because Bush will be gone and hopefully Fred will be in.

By the way it is Bush's fault that Mechegannnn got beat by a little 1-AA school from the mountains of NC.

rick, I know, it's all

rick,

I know, it's all very confusing.

What you have to do is lay aside all of your logic and believe with absolute faith in the Captain of the Starship Global Warming, Captain Al M.B.P. Gore.  He'll make sure you are all warm and fuzzy...no need for you understand it all, just believe.   Take that leap of liberal illogic....you'll feel much better in the morning.

Seriously, George Bush has got to STOP IT already.  Screwing up the fabric of the universe....I mean, seriously, poor Wolverines...couldn't hold up their end while playing a I-AA school (Yay!).  Hmmm...unlike my Gators did I might add...in 3 quarters, in game called due to lightning...oops, must be GW again.  Thank heavens GB's younger brother lives here in Florida...keeps that evil George's meddling away from us!

Does it all make sense now?

In fact, since AGW is now "climate change" and earth's climate is constantly changing, anything and everything can be traced back to AGW.

Cooh, huh???

My daughter and I always joke that any situation in your life can be compared to an episode of "Seinfeld."

Well now I am confused.

So why did my Irish team get clobbered, was it Bush or global warming, or was it global warming that Bush caused or was it because they suck, and GT don't? I mean if it was global warming that Bush caused, I can live with that, but if we suck grrrrrr!!!

Hurricanes

I have lived here in eastern NC for 12 years. I have yet to see anybody that can predict the path of a storm until it actually hits the coast. Floyd threw them a big curve. None of them predited the rains that we got. They can't even get the weather right for the next 3 days.

Most of the TV forecasters are just reading what is put out by the NWS local office. (Kind of like the news readers in the MSM.)They  try to dazzle with all the fancy maps and computers but when it comes to it, you can get the same thing from weather.com or the NWS.

during the Dean hype i posted, yeah hurricanes always follow a straight path.  I remember charting their paths as a youngster.

}}---> Dem Calendar

Dems will start out by painting Republicans as homophobic for cutting Craqig loose.  Just a warmup.

Then they carry on with their outrage at Alberto Pinata and Karl Rove.

Then it's time for "I support our troops, but I wish they would die more quickly so we can surrender with our jobs intact."

~LYDSEXICS UNTIE!~

 "Will the Democrats

"Will the Democrats actually have an agenda besides Bush-bashing?"

If recent activity is any indication, they'll also be gunning for Al-Maliki in Iraq.  Don't think they'll limit themselves to undermining our own President, when they can childishly and maliciously try to topple another leader in difficult circumstances.

"Whoever changed his Islamic religion, then kill him." -Muhammad

Kinda ironic how they want

Kinda ironic how they want to overthrough the current Iraqi leader, but would had been tickled pink to keep the last one?

I expect more gay smear,

I expect more gay smear, since it seems to work so well for them. Maybe they can combine it with their other issue and try gay smear on the President.

Democrat Return Agenda

Day 1: Invalid Tim Johnson returns to the Senate and mumbles through a speech of Democrats are wonderful and Republicans are a problem.........the MSM uses Johnson's brain explosion to talk about Bob Woodruff and how Iraq vets are still alive and should be dead as they are all crazy, dopers and crazy suicidal dopers now.

Day 2: CYDA is Cover Your Democratic A** day where Democrats all say they are for security, for getting out of Iraq while staying in Iraq, for peace while nuking Muslims and for non war while invading Pakistan.

Day 3: Hoping bombs go off so George Bush can be blamed.

Day 4: Hoping a hurricane hits New Orleans so Robert Shearer can blog about it on Huffington and blame Bush.

Day 5: September recess as Blubber Kennedy needs to get out to Hyannis Port for the last rays of sun and Democrats are exhausted from doing so much.

What bias at AP?

There goes the AP....again.

From the link:

The number of Iraqi police and army personnel killed in August was down an incredible two thirds from July. The August total was 87, July’s was 224.

The AP saw those figures today but made the editorial decision to censor them from their wire story, for fear they would help General Petraeus and the Bush administration make the case to remain in Iraq.  - Pat Dollard

link to entire story

acumen.... This figures

acumen....

This figures doesn't it?

The numbers are outrageously different and the enemy within has to report the way they do.

Treasonous, despicable as far as I am concerned.

Where are the lazy so-called journalists in the msm reporting any of this great news?

btw...here is another link from Dollard's site that is good news too.

Good news, great possibilities....we can't have that now can we?

Wow, acumen

That entry ought to be on the main blog page here.

No media bias there...drive right on by.

I try to check Pat Dollard, Michael Yon, and a couple others regularly...to get the real info.  Thanks for the link.

Democrats are going to be "majorly" depressed over this, LOL.

If they thought a victory in Iraq was going to create a problem for them, what will they make of this, if they can't promise to do better than Bush did on this?

Couric Carries On In Iraq

Video: Couric Says Military ‘Wants’ Her To See Only Good

http://ianschwartz.com/2007/09/02/video-couric-says-military-wants-her-to-see-only-good/

CBS Evening News anchor Katie Couric implied the U.S. military fed her propaganda when she was taken to the Allawi market. Couric commented the market “seemed to be thriving” with “a lot of people out and about.” However, she finished her praise with a warning: “Of course that’s what the U.S. military wants me to see so you have to keep that in mind.”

I heard/saw that leftist slicked back haired b#tch say that this morning....

May she rot....

Who knows, maybe the Perky One will get an up-close look at what this Jihad is really all about.

Treasonous wench, she is.

Couric Capers

Why didn't she take her cameraperson and just go out on her own to find the real story? Could it be because she'd get lost one block away from her deluxe hotel? Or because it would take an actual journalist to recognize the real story when it was right in front of her.

South Korea caves in...

Hi Parker... This whole

Hi Parker...

This whole thing has made me sick...

I posted about this a couple days ago now I think with this link.

Everybody keeps paying these filthy enemies off ...have for quite awhile now

Despicable.

It wouldn't bother me bigtimer if

there was cooperation with our Coalition elements and every one of the terrorists was hunted down and killed following the payoff. I would have a satellite tasked for it, or one of the UAV's for the required spying, or whatever was required.

The next order would be - go slaughter them, and everything else around them.

Then I'd have a press conference anouncing their deadness.

Did anybody happen to catch

Did anybody happen to catch the Haditha segment on CBS 60 Minutes tonight...good old Scott Pelley did his usual spiel with Wooderidge (sp) who he interviewed...I think he is the last one with charges against him...of course they had to throw in Murtha towards the end.

I was of course not a happy camper with the show...

May be a link later...or a replay for any interested...depending on the area you live in and your selection/viewing menu.

No the democrats won't have an agenda

publicly other than Bush bashing, but behind the scenes and quietly they will be implementing their communism. You won't hear about it, but it will be occurring.

I guess Bush iron fist diplomacy won.
