Sal Mineo?
August 12, 2007 - 10:22 ET by P.J. GladnickIt looks like Ford is debating Sal Mineo.

August 12, 2007 - 10:25 ET by Cool ArrowPlease give me your take on it.
This guy Markos is this
August 12, 2007 - 10:36 ET by Gat New YorkThis guy Markos is this generation's Abbie Hoffman who uses a war effort to become a demamgogue for a generation of anti-war protesting. But once the war winds down or is gone these people become irrelevant and disappear. I think we are watching this little man's peak of fame. He is already doing battle with people he helped get elected and within his own party. I look foward to Harold Ford taking him down a few notches or at least showing how off he really is and how off the pandering Democrats are for sharing a stage with him and his fellow nuts.
}}---> Don't hold your breath
August 12, 2007 - 10:43 ET by Cool ArrowI look foward to Harold Ford taking him down a few notches.
Looked to me Ford offered only minimal resistance. Markos steamrolled him.

August 12, 2007 - 10:58 ET by Gat New YorkPretty uneventful, but there was one zinger from Ford to that little Hitler (and he is).
Ford remarked about horrible commentary that exists on DailyKos including posts filled with “awful things about Jewish people” – he did not say Israel.
Markos' response was “it’s about democracy – if you don’t like regular people . . “
So people who hate Jews are “regular people.”
Sounds a lot like Hitler to me.
On being Stalinesque
August 13, 2007 - 06:34 ET by UnsaneOr, since Markos is on the opposite end of the spectrum, he could truly be described as Stalinesque. How? Don't forget about the Doctor's Plot. The ONLY thing that stopped that purge/pogrom was Stalin taking his dirt nap.

August 12, 2007 - 11:09 ET by Cool ArrowNo, it wasn't fair to Ford. Nor was it fair to have the softball/hardball questions moderated for Markos/Ford respectively.

Gee, I predicted last night
August 12, 2007 - 13:33 ET by Del DolemonteGee, I predicted last night this would happen.
Here's what Charles at little green footballs had to say: "The supreme egotist Markos “Screw Them” Moulitsas appeared on Meet The Press today with DLC chairman Harold Ford, denying and backpedaling furiously away from the hateful, ugly content on his site, and crowing about becoming the new Democratic “mainstream.” Of course, he’s being given a complete pass for his obscene, barely literate writing, and his track record of almost uninterrupted political failure.
It’s like watching a train wreck in slow motion, as the Democrats let their agenda be determined by spoiled, mean-spirited children. The damage from pandering to this lowest of the lowest common denominator will be felt for years."
true
August 12, 2007 - 11:11 ET by jiminjerseyI agree I was surprised Huckabee has such a good showing. I think he has performed very well in the debates and his messages should resonate with the base. Only problem is getting the base to listen to him.

August 12, 2007 - 11:02 ET by dahliatraversIsn't one of the components of the scientific method a willingness to share the method you employed to reach a conclusion so that it can be recreated and thereby verified?
So when Steve McIntyre and others got wind of NASA's "warmest-year-on-record" error, why did James Hansen refuse to pass along his algorithm? This strikes me as bratty and unprofessional.
Hansen refused to provide McKintyre with the algorithm used to generate graph data, so McKintyre reverse-engineered it.

August 12, 2007 - 11:41 ET by BlazerHappened to catch Meet the Depressed, and say what you guys want, but I swear Kos has got some sugar in his tank. No man I know sticks his pinky out when drinking from a coffee cup.
When Ford, and Kos were trading barbs Ford had that "if we were not in front of the cameras I would B-smack you" look. Fords distast for Kos was evident, being he would not even make eye contact with the pint sized communist.

Symbiotic Parasites
August 12, 2007 - 15:22 ET by stratmanThis was my first time seeing Marxist Moulitsas in action. He appeared a capable speaker and was not wearing any offensive clothing (eg Che t-shirt). I can not speak to his personal hygeine since the stench of Liberal bohemianism (redundant?) would go unnoticed by all at that table.
That said, he seemed like a smug, smirking, combative, effeminate toad. The constant hand movements and oh-so-tantalizing near touches of Ford begged for a silk hankerchief to hold onto while assaulting the atmosphere. Add a smart little boy blue velvet suit and starched white shirt with lace wrists to complete the Berkely Lord Fauntleroy caricature.
His style of debate was monopolize, marginalize, insult and shout down your opponent. Bursts of rapid speech are used to give an air of intelligence and to prevent your opponent a chance to get a word in during a pause. For once, David Gregory was not the biggest @sshole in the room.
The content of his text is no doubt sanitized for television. How else can he appears "center" if one were to read Moulitsas' posts' on DKos from times past. Yet he did not dispel the old adage that a pig with lipstick is still a pig. I imagine we'll see more of the piggie in "Kos" as he feels more empowered. Moulitsas is on a power grab and Ford is pandering for votes. David Gregory was there to add dung fertilizer as needed to make the transaction as "slick and smooth" as possible. (Does this mean Kucinich is the dung beetle of the DNC, forever rolling up the crap of others?) What a disgusting symbiosis between parasites.
One can only hope for a real debate between Moulitsas and NB's Noel Sheppard.

August 12, 2007 - 16:03 ET by stratmanHave two moderators, one from each camp, to keep the questions honest and the debate on topic. Use PBS to televise the event. Would be a refreshing change for our tax dollars in action.

August 12, 2007 - 17:03 ET by BlazerWell lets tally up the facts bt.
1. Kos is from El-Salvador, his family moved back to the states to escape the leftists, and communists, they came back to the states as refugees.
Kos runs a wildly popular leftist communist website.
2. Kos is a military veteran who once proclaimed "He has described the military as "perhaps the ideal society – we worked hard but the Army took care of us in return."[1]
Kos is the chief of DKOS, a very un-patriotic, anti-military, anti-religion, anti-semitic forum.
3. Kos is married with children.
For all sense, and purposes Kos should be conservative, so what is the one thing that would by default turn someone into to a liberal?
Yep, being gay.

Fred
August 12, 2007 - 13:39 ET by ChaitealoverAnybody catch today's WaPo article by Monica Hesse denigrating Fred Thompson because of his first name? Basically, she says his name sounds stogy, old-fashioned and, of primary importance, not sexy. I haven't decided who to back yet, but I know I'm not looking for a sex object, I want an intelligent leader with conservative values. This woman must be really desperate to find something bad about the man if she's writing about the name his parents gave him as if it was the same thing as making naive, uninformed and contradicting statements about foreign policy. Sounds more and more like the drive-by media is living in fear of Fred Thompson. Must be a good reason, don't you think? I think that alone would be enough to keep him on the short list.

Long Knives Out For Hillary
August 12, 2007 - 14:55 ET by Lame CherryI have been watching a trend developing very subtle on liberal blog sites and I have noticed a huge herding of leftists to be against Hillary.
Bob Novak today revealed what the DNC was telling him (So if they are leaking to him you know something is afoot to sink Hillary). The DNC said Hillary's national numbers "mean nothing" and that in NH and Iowa it is a dead heat between Obama, Clinton and Edwards with Obama now surging in South Carolina.
Ariana Huffington this morning took quite a catty swat at Hillary on the two faced nuclear issue. Other featured bloggers have called Hillary "sh*t" in her loosing national campaign. None of this is just happening and the long knives appear out for Hillary.
I have also noticed a dead silence in their backing anyone else. Yes they will take Obama's side, but that is only to needle Hillary.
I doubt what I blogged to Ariana Huffington will be posted by her, but Ariana used to love Hillary........and the dirty secret is Hillary was either threatening or blackmailing support with those stolen FBI files.........liberals were intimidated by her.
So that begs the question if Chris Matthews cleverly was using looser John Edwards to take funds from Hillary and now Huffington and others are openly swatting at Clinton to the clever CNN chic raising her skirt.......just in logic if these twirps are not afraid of Hillary any more.........who is the big tuna they are putting their faith in?
Only one person besides Bush 41, 43 and Cheney know where the skeletons of bribery are buried in Swiss Bank Accounts who Hillary can not touch if he bites her.........that is Al Gore.
I believe a draft Gore sham will be initiated as he has every intention of running. This is who these twirps are putting their trust in as you know very well they are smart enough to know Hillary if she wins will come at them tooth and nail.......they know something in the DNC and there is a coup against Hillary planned and being intitiated.
Al Gore is running it as he answers to the real big fish in the pond in the cartel narco banking globalists. He sold his soul to them and he will get in the race as Hillary is tanking.

The problem LC is most
August 12, 2007 - 15:12 ET by BlazerThe problem LC is most liberals I know, or know of are moderate. The MSM's ardent support of the Clintons is not legend. She is their girl for the most part, and as of late she is trying to portray herself as a moderate Democrat. That is unless God forbid she ends up as the CIC, and then everyone will find out what a far left socialist she is.
The funny thing is most liberal women i know, my mother included, very much dislike Hillary for no other reason than being a woman. I guess it must be The Queen Bee syndrome that Rush spoke about.
Anything moderate or centrist to the far-left is seen as being far right, and the liberal kookosphere is awash in moonbattery, and conspiratorial paranoia, not to mention they hate her. Hillarious's only hope to get elected is to try, and convince everyone she is a born again blue dog, so she can appeal to the majority DNC base.
I dont' believe the MSM is turning against her so much, as they are the media, and they love to see a good catfight, and they love it when the girl falls. To them she is fair game just like Paris Hilton, or Lindsay Lohan.
