Mad Pole...

I had a dream last night very similar to what you wrote.

I dreamed that instead of crossing into Pakistan into no-mans land to try and get Bin Laden and his cronies, that we simply bought up all pork products the government can find then do high altitude night bombing on every village and town in Pakistan that we think Bin Laden could be hiding. We bomb using pigs feet, tails, heads and any other identifiable part of the pig so that when people woke they would find pig parts everywhere. Repeat this for about a month and I'm betting Bin Laden would be kicked out of his own religion, and the area he is in.

Bridge Collapse

Surprise surprise the nuts are blaming Bush and Iraq for the bridge collapse in Minneapolis.  A peak at the huffington post comment section blames halliburton and iraq for the collapse among other things.  How predictable are these folks!   They'll find a way to blame global warming also.  WCCO tv....aka WDFL was talking Pawelenty vetoing the transportation bill(10 cent gas tax hike) as a reason also.

And finally, here is a cool article I found at Mondesishouse. There is some adult language, so be forewarned.

That Zimbabwe story was a great find, as it is a classic example of what has happened to so many countries on that sad continent.

But its okay, though, cause whitey ain't in charge no more.

The reason those shelves

The reason those shelves are bare in Zimbabwe is because that collectivization is so good that people are always in the store buying stuff and they can't keep the items on the shelves.  You should only trust trustworthy publications like "Pravda".  "Pravda" means truth and they always tell the truth, so when you see those bare shelves, just remember that collectivization is working wonders for the people of Zimbabwe.

POTTY-MOUTH WEB FACT OF THE MONTH

A letter tonite on The Factor was from a guy who checked both the
(putrid) Daily Kos secular socialist (modern democrat) website and the
strongly right website Free Republic website for the “F” word… (not
freedom or family, beavis) … knowing that the modern liberals are the
most-potty mouth crowd you will find it was no surprise that KOS had
their favorite F word posted almost 7,000 times while FREE REPUB had it
posted a lot less, like ZERO.
This is splendid undeniable fact for all you “religious liberals” who

French President visiting Wolfboro, NH

Did anyone know that the President of France is on a 2-week vacation in Wolfboro, NH on the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee (BTW, that's just across the lake where I live)? Expect the "local" paper, the Globe, to become really agitated over this for the next few weeks. They've already started, with today's article. Typical Globe snobbishness: "If Lake Winnipesaukee's reputation for motorcycles, power boats, and jet skis seems unlikely to attract a sophisticated, cultured Frenchman, Wolfeboro itself is a picturesque small town that retains the charm of early 20th century New England". And, "Certainly there are more French fries than fine French restaurants in town, though if Sarkozy gets the urge, he could find a nice bit of Camembert or wedge of brie at Camelot, a downtown book and gift shop that also sells an assortment of French cheeses".

That's just the beginning, because obviously the Globe thinks foreign visitors come to America to sample imported foods from the visitors' home countries, and the Globe delights in pointing out the unsophisticated communities that don't provide this type of "culture". It could get downright nasty over the next few weeks as the Globe's editoralists start to weigh in.

I thought Sarkozy was

I thought Sarkozy was already branded a Philistine for daring to , shudder, JOG.

God help him if he dares eat some curly fries, or, God forbid, a funnel cake!!!

On Sarkozy

Well,he DOES hate free, undistorted competition in French and European markets, and wants badly to preserve the French Nanny State.  That makes him a typical European leader in my view.

Res tantum valet quantum vendi potest.

"Certainly there are more

"Certainly there are more French fries than fine French restaurants in town."

Well, yeah, he's in America. He's on vacation. So why would he want to go to a French restaurant, anyway? If I go to France, I'm not dining at the Pizza Hut or some other place I can find near my home. You visit a foreign country to experience the foreign culture, food and all.

GLOBAL WARMING AND MINNEAPOLIS BRIDGE COLLAPSE

I have watched Fox and CNN try to tease out AGW as involved in the
Minneapolis bridge collapse. They tried to get their Commentators
to discuss the "heat" effect, and Breathlessly relayed the factoid that
Minneapolis had experienced the Tropical Oddity of 90 degrees, and,
even more bizarre to these non-Minneapolis bumpkins, that, GASP,
Minneapolis had experienced an AMAZING 20 DEGREE CHANGE IN TEMPERATURE
IN JUST A FEW HOURS!!!

As one who has lived in Minneapolis,
I say to these AGW wannabees, learn a little and speak less.
Minneapolis gets hot and it often has big temperature changes in a
short time. Seems to me other places in the world, maybe even
Boston, etc, do also???

  • 1997: 2 Aug, 22 degree change from 7:00am (66degrees) to 1:00pm (88degrees)
  • 1999: 17 Aug, 20 degree change from 7:00am (60degrees) to 2:00pm (80degrees)
  • 2002: 24 Aug, 21 degree change from 7:00am (62degrees) to 3:00pm (83degrees)
