July 19, 2007 - 11:55 ET by Clear thinkerMM...
This reminds me of a funny story.
The same Uncle spent his life working on the docks as a longshoreman in Hoboken NJ. About 3 times a year he would get paid on Fridays and then take a ferry over to NYC. He would then spend the weekend spending his money on alcohol and hookers. On Sunday he would come back to Hoboken and go straight to his buddies house and have his buddy punch him in the face a few times and bloody him up pretty good. Then he would go home and tell his wife that he had been mugged and all his money had been stolen.
Years later my Aunt told him in front of relatives that she always knew what he was up to, but she never said anything just so he would continue to get beat up by his buddy.

Democrats want 'John Doe' provision cut
July 19, 2007 - 11:48 ET by Prester JohnHere's one hot off the presses (courtesy littlegreenfootballs.com):
Democrats are trying to pull a provision from a homeland security bill that will protect the public from being sued for reporting suspicious behavior that may lead to a terrorist attack, according to House Republican leadership aides.
The legislation, which moves to a House and Senate conference committee this afternoon, will implement final recommendations from the 911 Commission.
Rep. Pete King, New York Republican and ranking member of the House Homeland Security Committee, and Rep. Steve Pearce, New Mexico Republican, sponsored the bill after a group of Muslim imams filed a lawsuit against U.S. Airways and unknown or “John Doe” passengers after they were removed for suspicious behavior aboard Flight 300 from Minneapolis to Phoenix on Nov. 20 before their removal.
“Democrats are trying to find any technical excuse to keep immunity out of the language of the bill to protect citizens, who in good faith, report suspicious activity to police or law enforcement,” Mr. King said in an interview last night.

Surprise Ending!
July 19, 2007 - 12:04 ET by dmntd1Who, really, is surprised that the NYT wrote a story about the newest Harry Potter book, and threw in a few plot spoilers. JK Rowling is upset that they would do this "in complete disregard of the wishes of literally millions of readers, particularly children, who wanted to reach Harry's final destination by themselves, in their own time,".
I for one am shocked, shocked I say! that JK Rowling thought the NYT would hold Harry Potter and his friends in higher regard than the safety of our troops in Iraq! Really, how many 'plot spoilers' regarding our current Global War on Terror has the NYT printed? To think that they would ignore the wishes of children AND our military is quite.... well, I dunno.... I'm at a loss for words.
I really think that questioning others' masculinity is a game probably better left to people who haven't had more cock in and out of them than a Tyson Chicken regional distribution center. AceOfSpades 06162007

That's something that we definitely want to communicate and should be part of any curriculum.
