Who's Really Bailing on Glenn Beck?

"...democracy must be more than what the majority insists upon."
Barack Obama, The Audacity of Hope

Let me take this opportunity to look into something the media won't touch. All moonbat hands are unloading every cannon on the deck at Glenn Beck right now. According to the media, Glenn walks down the sidewalk with half a baby hanging out of his mouth pushing old ladies into traffic. Well, as my dear old dad used to say; "If everyone is aiming at you, you know you're on to something."

And what is Glenn on to? If you haven't watched Glenn this week, go back and start at Monday because he has unlocked an unreported movement in this country that he believes may change all of our lives. Glenn's genius is that as he falls on the sword he passes forward a series of questions we should all ask, like "Can we survive this debt? If yes, how?" or why do we have a (self-proclaimed) communist Czar running anything? These are questions that remain long after the media has chewed him up and spit him out. Voters may not remember what the media did to Glenn next year, but his questions are sure to persist as they cast their next vote.

Are these questions so out of line that they dare not be asked? The media thinks so. The left thinks so. Even Glenn's own advertisers think so, they are pulling out by the dozens according to the news. Well let's put our journalist shoes on and go where the media can't seem to find with both hands. Let's look at who is bailing on Glenn Beck.

Progressive Insurance. They don't call it "Progressive" for nothing. This Peter Lewis run supawn was the engine that gave $8.5 million dollars to the ACLU. You may remember Peter Lewis as the billionaire with a painting of Chinese communist Mao Tse-tung hanging in his house. It's a Warhol. The only thing more shocking than Progressive Insurance pulling their advertising from Glenn Beck is the idea that they ever became an advertiser to begin with.

Verizon/AT&T/Sprint. Oh, here come the telecoms strong with Verizon VP Jim Gerace hanging out the passenger window with a shotgun; "We made a decision that we don't want to be advertising on that program for a lot of reasons." I wonder if one of those reasons is that Glenn pointed out that Obama's foot soldiers are the unions? And what union does Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint call daddy? The Communication Workers of America. It's the site with the little AFL-CIO logo at the top. Well I'm sure the Communistcation Workers of America have no dog in this fight, but since we're playing journalist (1940s black coffee journalist, not a Starbucks reporter) let's zip over to OpenSecrets.org to see what we see. Oh, and look at that. OpenSecrets classifies the Communication Workers of America as a "Heavy Hitter". They've given out $26.7 million dollars to politicians. But don't worry, only 99% of that went to Democrats. I'd give these telecoms credit for not grabbing the $5 billion in Obama-dollars offered to them, but I won't since the only reason they didn't is the net neutrality conditions on taking it.

Walmart. Walmart recently "flabbergasted" the National Retail Federation after throwing in for Obama's employer mandate on healthcare. Walmart also has a PAC, of which 64% goes to Democrats in the latest cycle. Oh, one other thing, Walmart's CEO signed the letter announcing this change. Under his signature was the signature of Andrew Stern, President of the Service Employees International Union, and Obama abettor John Podesta, who is chief executive for the Center for American Progress. Why? The SEIU is a union that Glenn has been particularly vocal in outing as an arm of the Obama administration. They land at #9 on the Heavy Hitters list with $27.5 million going to politicians, 95% of which went to Democrats (and no, the other 5% did not go to Republicans.) On the other hand, it's nice to see Walmart finally carrying Glenn's books.

Best Buy. Why would Best Buy turn their back on Glenn Beck? Is it really public outrage or do they have anything at all to gain from going against someone who wants to expose Obama's healthcare sham? MobileHealthNews.com: "Best Buy appears to be gearing up to re-enter the market in a very big way — this time, though, it looks like its healthcare technology offerings will remain in-house."

Campbells Soup. Well this one just makes perfect sense, since they have been trying to transition into marketing the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender community. You gotta move that Double Noodle any way you can.

UPS. UPS is Teamster turf. The Teamsters are a part of the AFL-CIO. The Teamsters are #10 on OpenSecret.org's Heavy Hitter list, coming in with $27.4 million in donations, 92% of which went to Democrats. FedEx gave 58% of their PAC to Republicans, remember that next time you ship a package.

I bet you can't wait until you're forced to be in a union that gives your money to Democrats. One might almost think this all looks orchestrated. Nah, that would take one heck of an organizer to pull off something like that.

But just in case, keep in mind that boycotts work both ways.

'Boycotts Work Both Ways'

Yes, they do.

This article has been sent, via e-mail, to every individual in my address book with my personal wish that it be forwarded, via e-mail, to each and every individual in their address book, and so on, and so on, and so on.

Interesting, too, that BuyBlue.org (lists all major companies that prefer to keep things very liberal, especially their political donations) is currently being revamped.

The List is Getting Long, But....

I'm saving so much money!

Best Buy's prices suck anyway, and Wal-Mart's food is usually substandard.

Through defendglenn.com, I've notified all the companies I won't be buying from anymore and told the companies that are sticking by him that I'll stick by them.

It only took about 20 minutes, and it doesn't appear to be some sales push, so give it a shot.

A good list to have

Any company that 'boycotts' Glenn Beck is a good list to keep so I know which companies I will not support.  Keep it up Glenn.  If you are getting to them, you are doing something right as the author of this article stated!

We don't have cable, so I

We don't have cable, so I have been watching online. I listen to his radio show when I can. Glenn is making fantastic points, I have been wondering about them as well. The libs will do whatever it takes to silence him. Rush is on his show tonight, it should be a good one.

Best Buy claims they havent pulled

I emailed them and they responded by telling me nothing has changed.

Online viewing?

Where do you watch the whole show online? I can only find segments.

channelsurfing.net i watch

channelsurfing.net

i watch preseason football there, no use for paying for that! haha, noticed the "live fox news" link

enjoy

Thank you

Thanks for for the tip. I'll check it out.

I do all my watching via the Internet. It gives me more control over what my kids watch and costs nothing beyond a high-speed connection. And most of the new stuff is cr*p anyway, so I felt bad paying $60 a month for 499 channels I didn't watch.

Netflix has a great selection of stuff for instant watching. If you haven't checked it out I recommend it. They've got many British TV shows from the 60's onward. I've got over 120 shows in my queue. That's probably 5 years worth of watching and doesn't include the 200+ DVDs on my list. I'll never lack something worthwhile to watch.

Bailing?

Maybe they were bailing because the advertising rates were going up. Or maybe because they were afraid of the backlash from the unions that these companies had to deal with, I do not know. The one thing I am sure of is that Fox Newscorps is making a lot of money with Glenn Beck. His ratings are what Fox is concerned with and Glenn Beck makes them money. The more viewrs the higher they can charge for ads. If his ratings go into the toilet Fox will drop him as a pure matter of money.

The attacks bear little resemblence to the truth. They use isolated sound bites without any context. Selective editing is the weapon of those who cannot stand the light real debate.

What Obama is doing

What Obama is doing frightens me, not as a conservative, but as an American. His associations and appointments should frighten ALL Americans, I don't care which side of the aisle you are on. He clearly does not believe in America or the American dream. What is even more frightening is that our Senators and Congressmen fail to point this out and try to stop him. I cannot but wonder why this is so clear to me while our reps seem so blinded.

D

Write Congress and Senate and tell them what YOU think!

Keep the ILLEGALS out, join NumbersUSA to send free faxes to your reps.

I know this sounds silly

Obama gets this glowering, scary look sometimes that chills me.

glenn beck

i would probably list glenn first as the most patriotic civilian individuals alive i can think of.

lunaticcringeradio

yeah right mithridate

Walmart and AT&T don't advertise on Glenn Beck because they are scared their unions? Come on now.

"I swear sometimes the self-appointed moral police are as obnoxious and demanding of big government interference as "environmentalist" gun control advocates, labor unions and trial lawyers"~fitzfong

well shawn

I don't know about AT&T, but I do know that WalMart is pushing heavy for government healthcare. WalMart workers, upon hiring and orientation, are routinely taught how to sign up for food stamps and Medicaid. And WalMart also loves minimum wage increases because it does nothing but hurt the competition. Hourly wages go up, they cut a cashier from 30 hours a week down to 20.

Capitalistic ideals aside, no self-respecting conservative should ever support WalMart.

Re Wal-mart

The number of Wal-Mart employees covered by a company-sponsored heath insurance plan is currently around 55%, above retail-industry average. Walmart is in favor of a government mandate for company-provided healthcare because it will hurt their competitiors more than Wal-Mart. Let's remember Wal-Mart is a business first, and not expect them to be some kind of conservative political lobbying group.

I shop regularly at Wal-Mart because of the prices, the fresh meat, and the convenience of doing most everything in one store.

Huh?

"Hourly wages go up, they cut a cashier from 30 hours a week down to 20. "

That makes no sense. If the store is open they need cashiers right?

no

they just "make do" with less people.

Maybe, but there are certain

Maybe, but there are certain stores and banks that I refuse to to deal with because of poor service and long lines. Does Wal-Mart want to be like that?

Cutting hours

I thought they did that to have more part-time people vs. full time.  They want as few full-time as possible since that is who they give benefits to such as insurance.  Just hire more people but each works less hours.  I think many companies do that.  I am not an expert but is that correct someone?  M-B

some do "make do"

its the japanese "lean" model.  Work smarter, less people.  Welllll.... we have the less people down :)  I am not certain what WM's policy is on hrs vs. benefits but I know some retail stores caught heck for doing just that.

"Maybe you're better off not having the surgery, but taking the painkiller" Barack Obama (Dr. In Chief)

you are correct, maximus

Part time cashiers and stockers don't get offered affordable insurance plans. As for the line that most of their workers have employer-based insurance, they fail to mention they are spouses and children listed as dependents on someone else's employer-based insurance plan.

And no, WalMart doesn't care about providing good service. People shop there because it's cheap. Not because they have plenty of help.

I spent a lot of time working in retail, and two of my sisters actually worked for WalMart in the past. It's a very crummy atmosphere.

I am not worried that Glenn

I am not worried that Glenn Beck will be taken off the air because Fox can't find advertisers.  With an audience of nearly 3 million viewers and one of the fastest growing audience ever, there will be advertisers.  Even if those advertisers are Sham Wow or the Awesome Augur, who cares.  The bills will be paid and Glenn Beck is getting those bills paid while at the top of his game.  Both Fox and Beck made a great decision when they agreed that he move from CNN's Headline News.

What is more important is what is Glenn Beck telling the American people.  He is vocal, has his facts straight, and is hard hitting regarding the shennigans that the dimocrats are trying to pull off.  I like him better than the more popular Bill O'Reilly and Shawn Hannity.

Interesting juxtapostition....

"...democracy must be more than what the majority insists upon."
Barack Obama, The Audacity of Hope

"A democracy is nothing more than mob rule, where fifty-one percent of the people may take away the rights of the other forty-nine." - Thomas Jefferson

Is Obama channelling Thomas Jefferson? I think not. I think Barack would maybe repudiate that statement now that he feels that he is "the majority."

"Of those men who have overturned the liberties of republics, the greatest number have begun their career by paying an obsequious court to the people, commencing demagogues and ending tyrants." - Alexander Hamilton, Federalist No. 1

What about GEICO? They dropped Glenn Beck like...

a hot potato.  Guess they don't like controversy.  Jim Webster

Gacko to the gecko

Forget GEICO. There are other companies--though that woman with the big mouth in the figurative aisles of the insurance "store" bugs me, too. Sargento? Gone and not lamented.

Please, One More...

Actually I'm praying that creditreport.com will also drop their advertising on all of Fox News. Their ads are like nails on a chalkboard and mean a dive for the mute button in these parts.

Sargento Cheese

I wrote to my local cheese maker over a week ago questioning why they had dropped their advertising. No reply. My boycott of them is more because they do not have the courage or courtesy to answer a simple question or even reply. Most companies just want to avoid a hassle, understood. But if businesses will no longer stand up for liberty and capitalism, we are in BIG trouble.

Ptson: Sargento, really?

Shoot. That's the only cheese I ever buy for our family. But you're right. Them not even bothering to answer you is...well, cheesy. *_* Would you post on here if they ever do answer you?

Not even a canned reply? That is cheesy, and not in a good way.

Not even a canned reply? That is cheesy, and not in a good way.

Ptson, my

feelings exactly.  I e-mailed Sargento about the same time.  Not even the courtesy of a reply telling me to go pound sand.  So, they lost me.  If they feel that way, I'm sure they'll lose more than one customer.

SoL~

Sorry I got to the "cheesy" joke first. Great minds think alike. LOL.

Okay, that's enough for me. Sargento is now on my list...well, more like Sargento is now off my (grocery) list. I can't lie -- that's gonna hurt. Hey! Somebody moved my cheese (sorry, couldn't resist)...in search of another.^_^

Sargento--

--did not respond to me either. My wife and I decided we will not buy their product anymore and I emailed them so.

Glenn Beck is focusing on

Glenn Beck is focusing on the questions we and others have been asking for months--the questions the mass media refuses to ask.

Glenn asks: who is this mysterious Barack Obama guy, really? What is he really up to? Who are these creeps,  tax dodgers, radicals, czars, half wits and Marxists he surrounds himself with? Why is he overloading our economic system to poise it for collapse? Who is Obama serving as a bagman? Why does Obama say the very strange things he says, and on and on and on.

Right now Beck is exposing the  White House for what it is, and the radicals, leftists, anarchists are mighty angry about it. They thought they had the media in their pockets, and they do, except for a few. Glenn Beck is one of those few.

May God protect him and his family from those who want to shut him up.

No citizen's right to life, liberty, pursuit of happiness, or property is safe as long as Obama is President of the United States.

The real story

Beck mentioned Tuesday that ratings for Monday were "higher than ever" and that has to be due to this controversial attempted boycott. There's also an irony in the fact that many of these advertisers are pulling ads from any controversial (read 'political') news shows, so MSNBC may be hurt more than Fox News by the attempted boycott.

The real story however should be that the organization that is pushing the boycott, the racist 'Color of Change' organization, was led by someone now in the White House, and likely still connected to the organization. The communist Van Jones needs to be asked about what connections he still has to CC, and the White House needs to be asked about Jones.

Watch Glenn Anti-Boycott

Perhaps there should be an anti-boycott of Glenn's show. If conservatives boost his ratings, and conservative leaning companies continue to advertise and increase their profits, that is good for the conservative cause in this country. Then when the calls continue to come in to remove Glenn, Rupert can just laugh in their faces!

"Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house." Acts 16:31

The media hates him because he is good.

The truth about what happened and how Glenn Beck was falsely accused when he was ambushed on "The View"

http://blip.tv/play/kAaBhrR%2BAg%2Em4v

The sad truth about many in unions

is that they are not represented properly by the union leadership. I am part of the CWA, which constantly sends me "marking orders" to support the any and all liberal plans and politicians. I have spoken to many people in the union, that are not part of the union officials, and many did not vote for Obama, nor would they ever support a liberal. There is a clause in the union that would require them to match funds for conservative politicians, but I think that people are to afraid to speak up to make them do it. I know I am.

When it comes to government, its not whether the glass is half full or empty, its that the glass is to big by half.

Glenn Beck is the most

Glenn Beck is the most provocative and probably the smartest pundit they have working there at Fox News.  I think the boss has his back. The left has tried similar boycotts on other Fox News pundits.  They tried some stuff O'Reilly, specially after the sexual harassment lawsuit... when they thought he was most vulnerable.

I don't think it's in Fox News' best interest to submit to blackmail, intimidation, and bullying.  Beck is just commenting on the facts and uses facts for his arguments.

I think this boycott is just stimulating Beck to dig up more information.  He's treating this like his time could be numbered.  He's swinging hard now.

The Van Jones report was quite eye opening.  The guy dug up footage of the Jones putting his own foot in his mouth.  Van Jones is definitely out there.  He's like the love child of Al Sharpton and Vladimir Lenin.

I've tried to listen to him more often

such a fuss... had to see what it was about.

Sarah Palin is asking her Face Book group to watch Beck tonite

Sarah Palin posted this on her Face Book today...

FOX News' Glenn Beck is doing an extraordinary job this week walking
America behind the scenes of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue and outlining who
is actually running the White House.

Monday night he asked us to invite one friend to watch; tonight I invite all my friends to watch.

who's bailing?

Its not his audience thats bailing!...its fox news socialistic liberal advertizers...but then, we can boycott them too can't we?

What companies are boycotting MSNBC?

What companies advertise on MSNBC? Beats me. Don't watch that channel. Companies want to spend millions to rake in thousands. Have at it.

I do watch Fox News. I do watch Glenn Beck.

It's no surprise that part-time workers don't get full benefits, that's the case in pretty much any company. In retail there tends to be a lot of part-time workers because staffing has to match up with our shopping patterns.

Color of Change, the leftist African-American organization

leading the Glenn Beck boycott, has issued a press release dated Aug. 24 titled 16 New Companies Pledge Not to Run Ads on Glenn Beck; Total Reaches Three Dozen.

The press release not only list the companies that have boycotted Beck, but those who have refused to join the boycott:

Last week, ColorOfChange.org began emailing the 150,000+ people who signed their initial petition, asking them to call five major advertisers who continued to refuse to pull their ads: Clorox, Experian (creator of FreeCreditReport.com), Lowe’s, Red Lobster and Vonage. Members utilized background materials prepared by ColorOfChange.org during their calls, and had access to a calling tool that made it easier to report the result of each conversation. Hours after members began making calls, Lowe’s contacted ColorOfChange.org, pledging not to run additional ads on Beck’s programs. Clorox followed suit Thursday, and Experian did the same on Friday.

Previous companies who have corrected advertising errors and/or pulled their ads entirely include Allergan (maker of Restasis), Ally Bank (a unit of GMAC Financial Services), Best Buy, Broadview Security, ConAgra, CVS, GEICO, Lawyers.com, Men’s Wearhouse, Procter & Gamble, Progressive Insurance, RadioShack, Re-Bath, Roche, SC Johnson, Sanofi-Aventis, Sargento, State Farm Insurance, Travelocity and Wal-Mart.

With more than 600,000 members, ColorOfChange.org is the largest African-American online political organization in the country.

Good Business Sense?

So, rather than advertise on a show with about 3.3 million viewers, these companies are going to bow to an organization with 150K people who have signed a petition and pull their advertising?

Isn't that kind of thinking what contributed to the downfall of the newspaper business?

pretty much!

but the real question is : did these people advertise with glen beck in the first place.
