CNN's Cooper: Obama's 'Numbers Didn't Quite Add Up'
When an adoring mainstream media suspend their fawning long enough to point out that he's lying, Barack Obama must realize his presidency is in trouble. That's what happened Friday night on CNN's Anderson Cooper 360 Degrees.
Naturally, Cooper began by claiming Republicans who argue Americans don't want higher taxes use polling data "that's just not true." No mention was made of this week's Rasmussen Reports survey showing 55 percent of respondents oppose a tax hike in any debt ceiling deal. But then Cooper turned to Gallup Poll findings used by Obama:
Well, President Obama mentioned that poll today, but keeping him honest, his numbers didn't quite add up. Here's what he said. Listen.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
OBAMA: You have 80 percent of the American people who support a balanced approach. Eighty percent of the American people support an approach that includes revenues and includes cuts. So the notion that somehow the American people aren't sold is not the problem.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
COOPER: Well, in fact, a large majority does support a mix, but not 80 percent as the President said. Here's the poll again. It does show only 20 percent support for spending cuts only, but add up the number for some kinds of mix and cuts and taxes and you get 69 percent, not the 80 percent the President said, an 11-point difference.
Granted, Cooper declared GOP officials employed data "that's just not true" while soft peddling Obama's use of numbers that "didn't quite add up." Yet the fact Cooper even called Obama out suggests that maybe, just maybe, the mainstream media won't be as worshipful of The One as they were in 2008.

ICE SKATING?
Submitted by desert3030 on Sat, 07/16/2011 - 12:56pm.
His math skills and skating....must have learned that in Hawii. As and example, W had hell to pay over Haliburton services...O nothing on GE? Non bid contracts, stimlus money, CEO working (playing?) as and advisor, and a monoploy on the market place.
And THE largest player of loop holes.
Now what would be said if it was W? I know he has them in his pocket. I really like watching Greogry, Tapper, George S, as I think they begin to drool, and I haven't seen look like that in 40 years... when I saw a friend get his first lap dance.

like math and polling numbers. It's not his job. So how about giving him a break?
As President of the United States, President Obama is focused like a laser on spending, I mean investing, increasing the debt, the redistribution of America's wealth, and the many other major issues facing this nation, and it's 57 states.

"Come on O, there's too many people who own calculators and can still read, despite the best efforts of the NEA and the Atlanta public school system. You can't keep floating these ridiculous statements as fact and expect us to put our necks out there for you again this time around."
Still, AC will likely be docked his salary for last night's show by CNN.

"You have 80 percent of the American people who support a balanced approach. Eighty percent of the American people support an approach that includes revenues and includes cuts."
Obama uses revenues instead of the word "taxes," and just says "...an approach that includes revenues... "not increased revenues.
So he is correct and that is Slick.
Actually since he is not talking about raising revenues he could have left that out and said, "You have 80 percent of the American people who support a balanced approach. Eighty percent of the American people support an approach that includes cuts."
Move over Mr. Clinton, O Slick is in town now.
revenue
Submitted by Huapakechi on Sun, 07/17/2011 - 7:09am.
If our hafrican president wants increased revenue, he can mandate a DECREASE in taxes. It's been proved to work every time. Just ensure greedy legislators don't spend $1.50 more for every dollar of increased revenue.
But that doesn't spread the misery enough to satisfy the screaming monkey socialist crowd.

That would make sense, even common sense, but with the National Socialists, (formerly known as the dems) they don't want that. That's what gets me about some people that they just don't see that these bastards are only interested in control of everything we do in life.
It was even said by a dictator that the best way to damage a country, even destroy it from within is to break it financially if you can't defeat them in battle. And that's what's happening right now.

I had realized a little bit ago that I think I made a mistake, that it may not have been a dictator that said that, I think it was one of the founding fathers that warned us about that. Can't remember who.
But there were dictators who believe that and exercised that tactic.

Good work, BK.....and good play on words too. One of the first things I noticed about Boy Barry, when he started to get public attention, was his arrogant tilt - as he read his teleprompter - and his tedious and torturous speaking style when he WASN'T reading his telepropter - possiby one of the most boring, and incoherent, public speakers that I have ever heard. And it's only gotten worse............

I can't - in my little world
Submitted by killa37 on Sat, 07/16/2011 - 1:41pm.
I can't - in my little world here on an outer island of Hawaii - find 4 out of 5 people who want higher taxes..........at least from people who actually WORK for a living!!! But you've got to admit - when you've got close to HALF the country NOT paying taxes, then you've only got to skew the polls to reach the other 30 %...............although I don't think there is ANY poll that even can show that!!!
As usual, Boy Blah-Blah is spewing more lies from his big purple lips..................as I've said a million times, he IS, WAS, and always WILL BE a lie - his whole pathetic life has been a falsehood!!!

Regarding the photo of Obama accompanying this article, I suggest looking up a famous photo of Benito Mussolini, the Italian dictator.
