She was mocking the clip of Dan Rather who was making a big deal about how is coat collar should be up rather than down. The Rather clip is hilarious and thats what Katie was doing. That's why she called herself a tart, "This tart is ready..."

Where are the spoofs of a Charlie Gibson saying something juvenile about some young Christian group he sees preaching at an airport?
Where are the spoofs of David Gregory leering at some short skirted chic?
Where are the spoofs of Helen Thomas being all she is in high lume bitch?
Look they nail Larry Craig..........so is it not time we get the party boys and girls acting like the jerks, bigots and racists they are.
Who on Newsbusters can be sent in with a press pass showing all the media covers up like Al Gore tray surfing on a plane which the press never mentioned.

Katie wants to be able to be as shallow as Dan Rather without appearing as shallow...so she cracks a "joke" ostensibly at her own expense, but actually at Rather's. She can take a sly dig at her predecessor while getting credit for not taking herself too seriously. But when she's not being oh so cool talking to her camera guy and calling him "bro", she's engaging in the same nauseatingly self-important behavior that made Sibilant Dan and the Breck Girl laughingstocks. Tarting it up, dumbing it down.
By the way, Katie is beginning to look and sound like Carol Channing...scary thought.
