Rudy in NJ
November 1, 2007 - 11:17 ET by JimboIn New Jersey today, Rudy is campaigning for a Republican senator who is running in a tight race.
This is the type of appearance the most predominant Party member would normally make (i.e. the President), and GW would certainly have done it if he wasn’t asked to stay away as a result of his low approval rating.
My somewhat rhetorical question is, why Rudy? Why not Thompson? Why not Romney or Huckabee? I suppose you can argue that Rudy carries the most weight because of the close proximity of New York to New Jersey, but I suspect that a more likely reason is that the Party sees Rudy as ultimately being the nominee.

November 1, 2007 - 12:07 ET by SouthJersey1953Even though NJ is about as blue as they come, people in NJ (especially the blue noses up north) LOVE Rudy and NJ will go Red for Prez if he is the nominee.

Rudy
November 1, 2007 - 12:11 ET by JimboIf you are right, having NJ turn blue to red in the general election would be a massive victory. I suspect he may have a similar impact on other blue states becasue of his liberal views on some topics. Doesn't that make him a virtual lock as a VP running mate if he doesn't get the Presidental nomination?

November 1, 2007 - 12:20 ET by SouthJersey1953I'm not sure. I'd rather have a real conservative than a RINO... But if it comes down to Hellery or anyone else, I vote for anyone else. Rudy "might" be very good for this country; not sure.
No RINOs in '08 - Mike Huckabee is the best choice
On Rudy
November 1, 2007 - 21:22 ET by UnsaneAre people right to say that Rudy is a RINO? Maybe.
BUT...take this into consideration. He is not all there is. He has appointments to make, which he could stock with conservatives you might like.
And if he were to appoint justices of the caliber of the Bush appointees, and that led to the overturning of such decisions as Roe v. Wade, I see statues of Giuliani being put up across Red-state America.
(Not a Giuliani supporter, but I will admit his potential to turn blue states red for me is intriguing. That, and he is solid foreign policy wise.)

Who Gets Christened as "Top-Tier" in the Presidential Race?

November 1, 2007 - 12:00 ET by lunaticcringeradiothe spirit of halloween is being raped like any woman around a former president. i come home last night, night i said, after leaving for work when it was still dark, and strangely enough i see that some neighborhood streets are barren, empty, nothing is going on like any other night of the year. once i get closer to my street there is traffic backed up like there is a detour off the freeway or something. it took me 8 minutes from the time i turned onto my street to get to my house 8 lots down that normally takes 25 seconds. i know because i listened to metallicas call of ktulu in almost it's entirity. apparently the thing now is to bus your kids in the suv to only the good streets that hand out candy now. on top of that 2 of the minivans had mexican license tags, one sonora the other chihuahua county or state or whatever they call it. i finally make it to my driveway and i'm unloading my van from work and people who don't speack english are walking up with bags and sacks open without even saying anything. just expecting that i'm suppose to stop what i'm doing and give them something. i just walked past them and ignored them until they got the idea i wasn't giving out, oooops i just deleted something there. isn't this thing suppose to be for the kids to enjoy? when i was a kid my parents went with me to guide and keep an eye out for our safety, but now the parents are rushing to the houses faster than the kkids can keep up to grub for handouts too. we got whole families, adults, OLDER adults walking around with bags trick or treating too, just as much as the kids. what the hell? finally i get my truck unloaded and i walk across the street to my buddies who's trying to have fun with this since he does have a daughter so i can understand the relevence for their enjoyment and participation. as i'm walking over there, i kid you not, a couple of homeless guys walk past me with bags of candy. yes there were homeless, it was not a costume, they had no teeth to eat the candy with, they haven't shaved since probably the last time they bathed they stunk so bad, and they were trick or treating. i couldn't stop myself, i yelled at my buddy so the mardi gras like crowd of people on my street could cringe at my insensitivity, "hey when do we start handing candy out to adults and homeless people"? i purposefully wanted everyone to know haw disgusted i was. i wanted to make everyone feel uncomfortable.
i will never give candy out again as long as i live in phoenix. i'm glad i was too busy working to get candy this year, next year i'll make the determined effort to choose not to get candy.
mooches, mooches all. this is suppose to be "for the children" not a wellfare handout day to everyone. what should i start doing next year, handing out cans of campbells soup, maybe steaks with freezer packs or coolers?

November 1, 2007 - 12:11 ET by Roger the ShrubberAt least you heard a good song last night :)
I heard a local Catholic church was dumbing-down Halloween even more: they were having their parishoners come to the church parking lot, open the trunks of their cars, and dispense their candy there. The kids do not have to walk through tough, dangerous suburban neighborhoods, or, GASP, perhaps have to put a little effort into it. This was in a town, not rural area, plus there are a dozen plans of homes nearby. We're not talking about the backwoods sticks here.
Why don't the church just have big bags of candy pre-made so mom can drive up with the kids in the back of the mini-van, reach out the window, and get free candy?
Talk about taking all the fun out Halloween.

November 1, 2007 - 21:42 ET by lunaticcringeradioparents came along with the kids to walk them safely around making sure nobody ran in front of a car, or anyone bullied the kids out of their candy, or other shinanigans. the parents stood back or at the front of the driveway and the places you trick or treated at usually had fun and played up the event. now it's just like some kind of sickening liberal get stuff from others scheme. i'm glad that i wasn't the only one today that i heard was disgusted with this "wealth distribution scheme". anthony from opie & anthony was just as disgusted with it, and talking with some of the workers i was with at the construction site agreed that it is all crap now.

November 1, 2007 - 12:19 ET by Roger the ShrubberBad news! Claims for Unemployment Benefits Fall.
The number of newly laid off workers filing claims for unemployment benefits fell by a larger-than-expected amount last week. DAMN!
The Labor Department reported Thursday that applications for jobless benefits dropped by by 6,000 last week to a total of 327,000. That was a bigger decline than analysts had been expecting. DAMN!
The four-week average of claims did rise by 1,750 to 327,000, a six-month high, reflecting some of the pressures the labor market is coming under. WOOHOO! (All those government job layoffs last month were a bad thing, see?)
Analysts are looking for the unemployment rate to rise slightly in coming months, reflecting a slowing economy. WOOHOO!
For September, economists believe the jobless rate remained at 4.7 percent with businesses creating a modest 80,000 new jobs. The government will release that data on Friday. DAMN! Bad news, indeed

Hellary's votes
November 1, 2007 - 12:21 ET by JimboWhile I am sure that all politicians are guilty of this at some point, Hillary takes the idea of trading her Senatorial votes on issues for Presidential votes to a new level.
Certainly she can’t be so removed and cold hearted (or maybe she is?) not to have some opinion of how to vote on “topic x” because she thinks voting one way or the other is the right thing to do. When she votes in a way that is contrary to what is right for the country (time and time again) because she is running for the White House, I am repulsed about how she is able to rationalize that and live with herself.

Yesterday I posted the lawsuit against Mrs Clinton concerning unlawful donations. After the debate debacle her campaign response is to step-up donations. Nothing was mentioned in reference to her limitations, all blame was assessed elsewhere.

THE HAPLESS: NO-ANSWER NO -EXPERIENCE CANDIDATE
Campaign call reveals Clinton debate concern, By
Sam Youngman, November 01, 2007
Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton’s (D-N.Y.) top advisers, doing damage
control after the candidate’s debate performance Tuesday, told
supporters on a conference call Wednesday that the campaign needed more
money to fight back. (FIGHT BACK AGAINST TRUTH? AGAINST
QUESTIONS?)
Mark Penn, Clinton’s senior strategist and pollster, and Jonathan
Mantz, the campaign’s finance director, told the supporters on the
call, which The Hill listened to in its entirety, that they expect
attacks from Clinton’s rivals to continue, and she will need the
financial resources to deflect their attacks. (HOW ABOUT CLEAR
ANSWERS? AREN’T YOU THE FRONTRUNNER THEY MUST CHALLENGE? WHAT A CRYBABY)
Clinton came under withering assault in the Philadelphia debate, and
some supporters on the call agreed with analysts that she stumbled.
“I wouldn’t say she lost her cool,” one caller said. “But I would say
she lost her footing.”
The caller addded that Clinton’s response to questions about records
from her time in the White House that have been sealed by the National
Archives “made me roll my eyes.” (THIS IS ONE OF MANY ISSUES
NOBODY DARE ASK HERE ABOUT…WHY? 900 FBI FILES WOULD BE ANOTHER)
The criticisms followed Penn’s assertion that Clinton was
“unflappable.” He also said criticisms from Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.)
and former Sen. John Edwards (D-N.C.) would backfire and that he was
already “detecting some backlash,” particularly among female voters.
Those female voters are saying, “Sen. Clinton needs our support now
more than ever if we’re going to see this six-on-one to try to bring
her down,” Penn told those on the campaign call. (ISN’T THAT
WHAT CHALLENGING THE FRONTRUNNER OF A PARTY IS ABOUT? WHAT A CRYBABY)
He, Mantz and several supporters hinted repeatedly on the call that
Clinton was unfairly targeted by Tim Russert, debate moderator and host
of NBC’s “Meet the Press.” (HOW DARE A BOOTLICKING LIBERAL
REPORTER ACT LIKE A REAL REPORTER FOR 2 MINUTES A YEAR WITH A LIBERAL)
“Russert made it appear that President Clinton had done something new
or unusual,” Penn said, before adding that it “is, in fact, an
extremely confusing situation … I think there will be further
clarification.” (THE KLINTONS DEFINE NEW AND UNUSUAL, ALSO
THEY DEFINE SLIMY, SNEAKY, RUTHLESS AND INSINCERE)
“I hope so,” a female caller responded. “To me, it was the most
uncomfortable part of the debate.” (BOO,

November 1, 2007 - 13:06 ET by bassndudeOklahoma has passed an illegal immigrant law. If you are here illegaly you cannot recive state services, (welfare, food stamps, ect. ect.). If you employ an illegal, it is a felony. If you own or manage an apartment complex, and do not have proof of legal residency or a SSN on a tenet, and that tenet is illegal, you are guilty of a felony (haboring a fugitive). Went into effect today and has won in federal court as lawful and constitutional.

November 1, 2007 - 14:55 ET by misterbillHad to login to comment. My daughter lives in OK so I had a two level interest. Randy did a great job on the bill. Last night I saw him on one of the TV shows with a debater from the other side. I will be called a racist or a xenophobe for my next input, but I really don't give a hoot anymore. This is my country, I fought for it and I have as much right to see our laws are enforced as any citizen.
His debater was Hispanic. He could not speak unaccented English. Normally, I don't care about that. As a matter of fact , I admire those who struggle to learn the language they need to know to be a citizen.)Gosh darn it, we do not have Italian, Polish, or you name it people speaking up and demanding rights for criminals. Only Hispanics. Do they think because their border abuts ours that it gives them special rights in the USA???? Did Tumbler pass some type of contagion on to all people of Latino blood???
So my rebuttal--if you are a vested (La Raza,Mecha, et cetera)member ---SHUT UP> I am sick of you. Go back to your country of origin if you are not legal. My country is not a bag of Halloween candy to be disbursed to your own ethnic group at the expense of USA citizens. No politician in this country has the balls to speak up. They cringe in front of the rules of Political Correctness--well screw you--get off your asses and do what we elected you to do--protect our country , help our citizens and improve our lot.
As this battle has waged on for me as a combatant for 2 years now, I have gotten completely fed up with USA ethnics willing to sell out the country because the illegal entrants are of their ethnic background. And for God's sake, stop calling it racial. Most illegal entrants are of the Caucasian race--use some damned intelligence and at least accuse us of ethnic bigotry (You are wrong anyway.).
All the blogging in the world is not going to stop what is well underway. L.O.S.T.---SPP---NAU---draining of city and state coffers by welfare, school and health services by those who should not be here. If our forefathers did not understand the dangers, they would have never instituted immigration policies. They have staffs that can read the same traitorous words of professors, politicians (Villagaraiso instantly comes to mind) who preach about reconquista and they allow irt to happen. Our politicians do not care. All they want is to be re-elected.
And I know this is off thread, but y'all can sit around and snicker about us SPP/NAU conspiros. Keep laughing until there isn't a job left in America that is not a government job or being filled by an illegal worker. A f*^^g Navy that wants the L.O.S.T. treaty to go through. When even the British are laughing at you, that is time to seriously re-evaluate your position. Another thing: why would Mexico enter into an "NAU" if one of the biggest reasons for them to allow and encourage their citizens to walk north in the first place is to get rid of people they don't want to begin with?
Keep laughing until there isn't a job left in America that is not a government job or being filled by an illegal worker. Because as we ALL know, the government's #1 mission is to PROMISE and GUARANTEE EVERYONE a JOB. We should follow France's example, where it is virtually impossible to fire anyone for any reason! It works GREAT for them!
Wait a minute...
P.S. The new law in OK that cracks down on illegal hiring is a great thing. No, I really don't care where they are from. Really, is it too much to ask people to go through a process if they wish to immigrate here? I'd love to have them, BUT they need to follow the rules just as those in my family did.

I can only come to the conclusion, due to lack of comments from the large majority of bloggers on this site that they are in agreement with you with regard to the SPP and the NAU, or are very polite and do not want to insult the few of us who are able to add the different bits of information (like flat out statements like "Oh the amero, that ees way out in the future", that point to significant truths. I spend most of my time at another site where the bloggers there are more open minded to the POSSIBILITY that there could be something sinister behind the curtain. I also am encouraged by Lou Dobbs who most recently stated that the free market is in a free fall and is slowly destroying the USA. I hope you like the lead in the toys and all the other goodies that come with free trade. I also am feeling good about being on the same side with Phyllis Schlafly, Jerome Corsi, Judicial Watch, Henry Lamb, Connie Fogal and the Canadian Action Party, Vicente Fox in his interviews in America, Allan Wall,Juan Mann,Daniel Sheehy, Ron Paul, Misterbill and a whole raft of folks, many of whom scoffed a year ago but no longer. I guess your biggest supporter is Michael Medved. His reaction to the possibility of an NAU is quite like yours. He resorts to insulting those who believe and gets so darned mad about anyone believing--not incredulous, but downright angry and insulting. You were made for each other.

Whine ALL YOU WANT, misterbill, but the country you so want us to emulate - France - has a 9%+ unemployment rate, and has had that for 25 YEARS. Why? Because the government coddles and babies everyone with PROMISES of jobs. Well, that's great if you ahve one, but since it is impossible to fire anyone there...employers respond by not hiring anyone. And the worst screwed under that arrangement are the youngest workers, 75% of who want to work for the government!
THAT is the future you want for America, misterbill?
This country has free trade (or, semi free trade anyways), yet I can't remember a time in my life when the unemployment rate hit 9%, much less stayed there. Part of the reason is that Americans aren't drinking from the poison well of total defeatism as you and your buddy Lou Dobbs are.
