Despite the fact that Hillary Clinton publicly boasted about creating Media Matters and that this information has been common knowledge inside the beltway, the far-left group has repeatedly issued false denials of these connections.
But in true Clintonian fashion, these denials are hardly that at all. Here is the phrase that the group keeps falling back on:
"Media Matters for America is a 'progressive research and information center dedicated to comprehensively monitoring, analyzing, and correcting conservative misinformation in the U.S. media.' The Center for American Progress identifies itself on its website as 'a progressive think-tank dedicated to improving the lives of Americans through ideas and action.'"
Of course this means nothing whatsoever as far as Hillary Clinton goes. And yet in typical disreputable MM fashion, the far left group has repeatedly referenced it in subsequent articles as a denial of a Clinton connection.
Apparently Media Matters can't even quote itself in context!
And this is the same group that many elite news organizations trust to accurately quote Rush Limbaugh or Bill O'Reilly?
I can't wait to see how the group will try to spin and lie about Hillary Clinton saying she "helped start and support" Media Matters.

If you expect intellectual consistency ...
October 2, 2007 - 09:04 ET by KC MulvilleMatt, if you're waiting for the MSM to (a) perceive; (b) apologize for their intellectual dishonesty, I wouldn't bother. They'll just do what they always do, like Claude Raines did in 'Casablanca' -- so long as they keep a straight face, they think they can say anything at all. They'll be shocked, shocked ... and pocket the money.

I'll help: Clinton merely said she helped start and support groups like Media Matters and Center for American Progress, not those actual groups.
Of course no one will be able to name the groups like MM and CAP that Cackling Clinton helped start.

The worst thing about Media Matters
October 2, 2007 - 10:29 ET by Dee BunkIs how they complain about allowing conservatives to speak, not that they should be questioned more aggressively. With Newsbusters it's the opposite and the media actually treat MM as more credible.
Just look at the MM front page today. It's Limbaugh and Coulter. They refuse to admit wrong doing with Rush and with Coulter there is a long diatribe about her being allowed to speak. She is always interviewed aggressively unlike Al Franken, Sean Pean, Al Gore, Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton or anyone who smears conservatives.
For them it's not enough to question aggressively, they want conservatives silenced.
Decions decions
October 2, 2007 - 11:10 ET by JDWObama recently described her inability to solve fundamental problems, her only goal is to impose a socialistic legacy the consequences of which she does not give a rat's ass.
Of course she supports Media Matters... but it's too early to tell everyone!

I hate to sound all
October 2, 2007 - 11:32 ET by Chris NormanI hate to sound all conspiratorial, but if you think about it, in a certain way, it's pretty scary that Hillary (if she's telling the truth) seems to be setting up an apparatus to use to silence her most potent critics. It smacks of other efforts in history...

Again, ding, instead of parroting the standard MM line

Wonder if David Brock will be the Spokesman for MM when it comes to this?

My guess ...
October 2, 2007 - 12:13 ET by Dave PierreHere's my guess for their headline if Media Matters decides to post a story on this:
"Conservative blogs misconstrue Hillary's comment on Media Matters"
"Media Matters for America
October 2, 2007 - 12:26 ET by Dave R"Media Matters for America is a 'regressive revisionist and dis-information
center dedicated to comprehensively mangling, mis-analyzing, and
corrupting conservative information in the U.S. media (what little of it there is).
Much better.
When I'm president, privatization is off the table because it's not the answer to anything.-Hillary Rodham, September 3, 2007 AARP Legislative Conference.
More accurate vision for Media Matters
October 2, 2007 - 18:09 ET by celatorHow about this as a more realistic description of Media Matters:
"Media Matters for America is a 'socialist research and dis-information center dedicated to ruthlessly monitoring, analyzing, and creating conservative misinformation in the U.S. media.' The Center for American Progress falsely identifies itself on its website as 'a progressive think-tank dedicated to improving the lives of Americans through ideas and action.'"
