WashPost Mag Editor Compares Chris Christie to Tony Soprano
Cathy Areu, of the Washington Post Magazine, compared Sarah Palin to unsophistocated redneck Larry the Cable Guy back in 2010. She was back to her old self Thursday morning on CNN's Starting Point, railing against Gov. Chris Christie (R-N.J.) as "a Tony Soprano" character.
CNN host Soledad O'Brien also had some fun with Christie's weight, chuckling at Piers Morgan's compliment that governor was doing well in his weight loss regimen. [Video below the break. Click here for audio.]
"He's not a governor. He's a character. He's a Tony Soprano," Areu ranted against Christie. When the question was asked if Republicans wished him in the presidential race, she spat out incredulously "How could you think that?"
She also sharply questioned the governor's debate abilities. "He's a mess. He doesn't listen. He just says whatever he's thinking. There's no filter."
After playing a clip of Christie discussing his weight with CNN host Piers Morgan, O'Brien snickered at Morgan's parting compliment that the governor's weight loss regimen was working. "Piers throwing the compliment, it's working. You're a shadow of your former self," O'Brien said mockingly.
A brief transcript of the segment, which aired on February 22 at 7:46 a.m. EST, is as follows:
(Video Clip)
CHRIS CHRISTIE, (R), governor of New Jersey: I'm trying to be healthier. I'm eating better. I've been working with a trainer on a regular basis and worked before we met today. And I'm trying. Because, you know, I'm getting ready to be 50. I'll be 50 this fall. And I'm starting to feel my own mortality. And I got to be around for my kids and hopefully for grandchildren. And so you start to think about it in that way that you don't really think about as a younger man.
PIERS MORGAN, host Piers Morgan Tonight: Well, it's working.
CHRISTIE: We're trying.
MORGAN: Keep going, Governor.
(End Video Clip)
SOLEDAD O'BRIEN: Piers throwing the compliment, it's working. You're a shadow of your former self.
(Laughter)
CATHY AREU, contributing editor, Washington Post Magazine: He's not a governor. He's a character. He's a Tony Soprano. I'm thinking of –
O'BRIEN: Republicans watching that do you think, god, I wish Chris Christie were in this race?
AREU: How could you think that?

Are we not supposed to be civil?
Apparently only the left can call people names.
I need to add the fact that Larry the Cable Guy is a character. And the comedian that is behind the character is now a multi-millionaire and gives millions to charity,
I want to be like Larry the Cable Guy!!!! A rich redneck.

Whoever a lib wants to compare someone to is always valid

But if you were to compare Obama to Waldo of the Where's Waldo books (why, I'm not sure) it would be shameful and "wingnut" in an instant. And if they didn't buy your analogy, you would become "insane" in the same time.
More appropriately . . .

If a reporter were to say Obama is not a President - he's a character like a ghetto street pimp - - - they would be fired for being a bigot.
So why does this woman still have a job after her bigoted comment about Christie?
OMG! As an Italian-America from the Garden State...

I cant tell you how offended I am, except that this is a "woman" one notch above mentally challenged, and for some reason is not only allowed on TV, but permitted to SPEAK! Hopefully, she wasnt given the go ahead to THINK!
Cathy Areu, are you Lizzie Grubman with a dye job?

You certainly act like Lizzie Borden Grubman.
Hey Cathy & Soledad

What kind of a name is Soledad?
It is Spanish for 'solitude'/'loneliness' being such a self-absorb, self-important creature -- somehow you are aptly named.
With regard to Christie, at least he can lose weight - both Cathy & Soledad are mean spirited ugly creatures they routinely prove themselves to be and likely to remain the same as long as they 'grace' us with their presence.
'Well, to tell the family secret, my grandmother was Dutch." Bart
I think that's obvious. Soledad only had one father.

However, her sister, Duodad, had two fathers.
But that was before DNA testing became common.
So what? Cathy Areu's nickname at WaPo is Snooki.

I remember laughing my butt off at a comment Rush made about this network: "Ladies and Gentleman, do you even realize what an idiot you can become even with casual exposure to CNN?"
Whatever, Endora

Her audience must be utterly stupid if she is citing fictional tv characters in her editorial comments.
the stinky rolls

With all the yeast infection sitting there, they have to make their own rolls. That's why Christie isn't having any of them.
Say what?

CATHY AREU, contributing editor, Washington Post Magazine: "He's not a governor. He's a character. He's a Tony Soprano. I'm thinking of – "
No, dear Cathy. He was elected Governor by his constituents, and he appears to be doing a great job. His predecessor Jon Corzine is a bonafide thief and under a Federal investigation; Corzine is a Top 1%'er thief.
O'BRIEN: "Republicans watching that do you think, god, I wish Chris Christie were in this race?"
I realize she was talking to Republicans and not me, but when I saw this, the thought that came to my mind was "I wish Soledad O'Brien was off the air."

You see if you were raised right, you were taught manners and proper ways of social interactions.
If your parent failed to educate you on manners, or logic or truth you then become a liberal commentator on a propaganda media outlet like these four.
Any talking about them in the same manner would immediately receive a complaint about such comments. Whether this is because they are elitist or because they are part of the media or because they are rude and crude it does not apply to the mentally limited.
