Latest evidence of the MSM/Obama mind-meld . . .
Reporting on the prospects of an ObamaCare bill coming up for a Senate committee vote, NBC's Athena Jones told Tamron Hall during MSNBC's 4 PM hour today: "It looks like it's going to work out fine to pass tomorrow."
ATHENA JONES: Hi David [Shuster] and Tamron. Well, as you mentioned, Capitol Hill will really be the center of the action tomorrow. The Senate Finance Committee is expected to vote on its version of the health care bill.. . . .
TAMRON HALL: So Athena, what might we expect tomorrow with this vote, or do we pretty much know how this is going to work out?
JONES: It looks like it's going to work out fine to pass tomorrow. I mean, they're counting the votes, so you expect that they wouldn't bring it to the floor unless they have a sense of where it's going to go.

Okay, its just a stoopid committee vote - no reason to panic yet

two chances
October 12, 2009 - 18:00 ET by jon_torlinIn a nutshell, we got two, maybe three chances here, first the committee, then the senate, and the third is that if it does get to the senate, Reconciliation. If that last thing doesn't happen, it's game overtime, no rules apply, let's let all hell break loose. After all, they certainly haven't followed the rules.

I've already been calling
October 12, 2009 - 18:02 ET by Free StinkerI've already been calling the Senate GOP leadership to tell them I support 110% them shuting the Senate down if the Dems try to use "reconciliation".
If that happens the GOP can use parlamentery manuevers to force out-loud reading of all bills (ever read one thousand pages out loud?).

These unholy bastiches(can I say this word unless it's deemed a swear word?)......sorry, gonna have to stop there, blood pressure's rising again and if I let my temper fly, I know I'll say some stuff that will get me banned. I'm part Irish, got the put-up-with-no-BS-tempermental genes.

No revolution
October 12, 2009 - 18:00 ET by Free StinkerNo revolution will occur.
The genius of the founders is being seen these days as even with control of congress and the Executive branch, Obama still can't get the healthcare takeover passed. (thus far)
The Mid-term elections are approx 54 weeks away now . . .

it won't get here fast enough!
October 12, 2009 - 18:05 ET by jon_torlinThey've broken quite a few rules already, even with the Founders, and yes, I agree, those guys knew what they were doing, but we're talking about the democrats who act like the rules don't apply to them about ANYTHING. If the rules did apply to them, as in if they actually followed them, we wouldn't be where we are today!
Add to that we got a questionable US Supreme Court that we really can't trust unless they actually order action taken to enforce the rules of the Constitution. But you got at least 2 of those guys who look to International Law for interpretation, for pete's sake!(Souder and someone else, can't remember who)
So in the meantime, we sit back and wait for time to pass while they keep going on and on destroying our country from within faster than our enemies can from without? Is that really going to happen?
-Jon
Yes Jon. That's really
October 12, 2009 - 18:07 ET by Free StinkerYes Jon. That's really going to happen.
This country survived FDR & Carter. We can survive Obama too.
it's happening too damn fast
October 12, 2009 - 18:10 ET by jon_torlinThe difference between those to and That One, That One's done more in 9 months than those two combined, let alone all the presidents combined in the past.
How do you survive something like that, and did you hear the news, the dollar's value is sinking faster now, gold's at an all time high and Russia and China's still pushing to get oil off the US Dollar.
Sorry, if my anger's coming through, I just hate how this is apparently going to happen, unless something wonderful happens tomorrow and it gets voted down in committee. Nothing pisses me off faster than the government trying to take over our lives.

Crap, It will take 30
October 12, 2009 - 18:00 ET by kangarooCrap,
It will take 30 something years before they realize what they have done. And then they will go back to what WE HAVE NOW
Oz after 30 something yrs or more of socialized medicine has relized the bullshit and is seeing the light. (geeze only took them five mins to vote out crap and tax over there good bloody on them) IMO we need reform where the insurance companies we have now will not insure you for pre exsisting conditions. and thats all I gotta say about that.
I hadn't realized OZ had voted Universal HC out. MSM again? ACA

I didn't say that they had
October 12, 2009 - 18:33 ET by kangarooI didn't say that they had voted national health care out. I said they have relized that it is not working for them. Mainly Doctors that are waiting up to 5 months or more to get reembursed from the gov. The Docs are the ones kicking up the stink and rightly so, waiting for payment 5 months later is a joke. So instead of paying your 15 bucks for any visit, the docs are wanting the whole payment up front, and then you have to go and stand in a long line at the medicare office to get your visit money back. google it if you want
Paying the visit money up
October 12, 2009 - 19:36 ET by ThatDudePaying the visit money up front? This sounds to me like the kind of situation where they set or remove regulations that force insurance for all medical services. If they would focus on ways to bring medical costs of everything but the catastrophic down to out of pocket amounts this would solve quite a bit. The way it is being pushed, a third party is involved in every bit of it which really just leeches more money from the consumer. What is the cheapest way to get a product from the producers and the consumers? REMOVE the middle man for all but the most costly or complicated of things and the grief of both producers and consumers falls drastically.
kangaroo~~
October 12, 2009 - 19:52 ET by Kat Outta the BagI work for a hematology/oncology group. If we had to wait 5 months for reimbursement, we'd be out of business in no time.
kangaroo, After 30 years of ObamaCare (perhaps even five...
October 12, 2009 - 18:21 ET by R D Helm...should half the docs bail) our existing medical infrastructure, which has taken decades to build, will be destroyed beyond repair, and that is assuming this country still even exists by then.
No, this freedom, liberty and nation-destroying lunacy has to be killed now, cremated, and its ashes shot out into space and nuked.

Obama already said the real reason....
October 12, 2009 - 19:19 ET by SlyrrObama already told us the REAL reason why he's so anxious to seize control of our health care. At that world leader summit, he said some world leader (he couldn't remember his name) from some country (he couldn't remember which), said to him: 'Why ees eet that in your country you do not have universal health care?'
And poor, poor, POOR Obama had to dig helplessly at the carpet with his toe, shifting his weight from one hip to the other, unable to answer this so-called world leader who he claims confronted him over the issue.
So based on nothing more than the fact that Obama is 'ashamed' to appear before other world leaders unless he's taken control of our health, he's moving to demolish over 1/6th of the nation's entire economy, piling yet more debt onto the trillions he's already racked up.
Poor Obama - all red faced before these un-named leaders from un-named countries. Let's all slit our throats with communist medicine so he doesn't have to be ashamed of his country anymore....

Committee votes
October 12, 2009 - 20:44 ET by cajun2Tues. the Senate Finance Com. will vote on pieces of the bill that include, penalties, fines, charges, taxes, etc. Regulations and mandates as well that direct payments and charges to states. There are pieces of this legislation that are in other committees. No one talks about these because this has to do with private ins. and the public option. These pieces of the bill were not examined by the cbo. The various pieces parts will then be brought together and that bill will be intoduced to the senate floor for vote. This is a simple explanation, I am a simple person, but I got this from several emails from DNC and Landrieu and David Vitter. You put it all together and it is another deception by the Dems not to debate nor post the real pieces of this legislation. Divide the bill, misdirect attention from the other committees, divert attention from Congressional actions. This is typical stealth moves shown by this administration. Notice how quiet Pelosi has been. She cant talk about this process since she will give it away and screw it up. This bill with its various pieces will make it out of committee. But the real test will be in the senate vote and we still have a chance to put pressure. Mary Landrieu has been feeding this stealth crap by her deceptive statements about reform parts of the bill knowing very well that the public option piece is not in her committee. My study on the last few days events.
I hope News Corp buys NBC
October 12, 2009 - 21:36 ET by Worriedand fires Athena.
NBC
October 13, 2009 - 04:24 ET by Jeff in Miami BeachI can't imagine RM wasting that money to buy a company that Fox will exceed in 1 more year. Fox made more money 3 years ago than NBC and has not looked back. NBC being a wing of the government subsidized GE really has no reason to sell since they have one hand in our (the US Government) pocket.
Now if NBC wants to make a profit they would move to an all movie format and stop spending money on opinions from their shows to their news. Now if GE really wants to get into the energy business it would produce a small oil drilling machines that requires fewer men to use and be more mobile. Then maybe we can get busy drilling our way out of debt and put some people back to work!
If you think medical care is expensive now wait until it is free!
Let the people vote on this, Not our Reps.
October 13, 2009 - 04:16 ET by Jeff in Miami BeachWe have a full bore election coming on next year, why can't Healthcare be voted on by the citizens of the US? This is a fundamental change of our country and I do not trust the people we elected to make this decision for us.
Demand the Healthcare Bill be added to the 2010 ballot! This is way too important for these idiots to be trusted with. We need to add Cap & Trade to this and VAT to the ballot. We the people need to vote for this not our representatives.
If you think medical care is expensive now wait until it is free!
