Scarborough Still on O'Reilly's Case

Joe Scarborough is still trying to wring mileage out of bashing Bill O'Reilly over his Sylvia's comments. After calling the "Factor" host a "moron" yesterday, the "Morning Joe" host was back at it today.

JOE SCARBOROUGH: How does Bill O'Reilly get away with this stuff? How does he get away with being shocked that people of color dress well and that people of color can run restaurants? It's 2007! This is the sort of stuff that people in the South did in 1962 and they brought water hoses down to straighten us out [wasn't it the "people in the South" who were using the water hoses on the "people of color"?] Those were the sort of attitudes that are destructive attitudes, and yet nobody is saying anything to speak of with Bill O'Reilly; he's getting away with it. Again, the contrast between Don Imus and Bill O'Reilly: stunning . . . Don Imus made a horrendous joke, which he was sorry for, and Bill O'Reilly has a world view that he feels no need to apologize for.

A bit later, Mika Brzezinski rose to the defense of Michelle Obama, who had said publicly that Barack needs to win the Iowa caucuses or it's over. Mika emitted a sympathetic "awww," then added "she's fine, she's fine . . . this is what happens to these poor candidates' wives, or husbands. One little thing they say gets completely run away with."

When it was time for the panelists to share their top item from the morning's newspaper crop, Mika chose this column by the Washington Post's Eugene Robinson, which excoriates the leading Dem candidates for their refusal at this week's debate to have set a hard-and-fast date for surrender in Iraq.

Joe then got all over the GOP candidates who declined to participate in yesterday's African-American oriented debate moderated by Tavis Smiley. Railed Scarborough: "It is a disgrace that these four Republican candidates that want to lead the free world, that want to bring the country together, refuse to go to forums that are run by people of color."

Mika and Willie Geist seconded the notion, Geist expressing [well-founded I have to say] skepticism at the "scheduling conflicts" the candidates cited.

Aside: in other news, Mika reported that Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was in Venezuela to meet with fellow USA-hating crackpot Hugo Chavez. Note the uniform of the ceremonial guard accompanying them. Someone should check to see if a college marching band is missing its drum major ;-)

How about this one, Joe?

It's a disgrace that these Democrat candidates that want to lead the free world, that want to bring the country together, refuse to go to a forum that's run by a legitimate news organization.

That's the double standard. Democrats think they won't get a fair shake from Fox; that's fine.

Republicans think they won't get a fair shake from Tavis Smiley and his friends; that's..well, you know.

Tavis Smiley is a bomb

Tavis Smiley is a bomb throwing partisan racist.  What credibility does he have hosting a republican debate?

He's black.  'Nuff

He's black.

 'Nuff said.

He is the Lincoln Chafee of

He is the Lincoln Chafee of MSNBC.

We should not insult

We should not insult Lincoln Chafee. At least he had a consistent set of principles.

"Morning Joke" has no principles - only who paying him.

He completely misrepresented O'Reilly's use of a concert he attended and left out the context in which he used it.

It sure looks to me that

Shorter Scarborough: "Bill, Bill please notice me!! Pick me!! Pick me!!! Bill pleassssssse......"

Sorry Joe: Olbermann tried it and it doesn't work. O'Reilly, for all of his faults, knows that one never shoots down. Only up.

I agree. Scarborough thinks

I agree. Scarborough thinks he's found a winning formula, (not only bashing BOR, but using a racist angle to boot) and he's going to milk it till this cow is DRY.

motherbelt - I think the cow died a couple of days ago.

If that isn't the carcass smelling over there, maybe they should look for the dead rat?

I think you're right....but Joe is still over there tugging, trying to get a few more drops out.

Joe sold his republican

Joe sold his republican soul to the msnbc devil years ago.  He has become the heir apparent to Pat Buchannan (sp).  Isn't that grand.  He will fill the role of the nasty mean republican who hates his own party.  Get a nose job Joe, make it pointed and be sure to be especially nasty when talking about republicans and nuianced and understanding when talking about liberals.  That is the script.  That is what they will write for you.   Joe is walking talking proof that republicans are stupid.

Joe, does Mika ever speak ill of liberals????????? NOPE, they would not ask her to do that.

Joe why don't you ask Mika why her father was such a fk up.

To Joe, because we know you

To Joe, because we know you read the NB site:

1)  How does Bill O'Reilly get away with this stuff? How does he get away with being shocked that people of color dress well and that people of color can run restaurants? It's 2007!

Okay ... I am NOW officially sick of hearing Bill O. define and explain this to the $#!+heads in the LLMSM ... He was pointing this out to people who tend to wrongly generalize, even stereotype, black communities because of things like Rap music lyrics, etc.  He was also breaking down the same generalizations that were made during past generations.  O`Reilly was NOT under THAT impression himself!  OMG!!! How blatantly and criminally stupid these people have to be???!!??

2)  Exactly what artificially flavored Kool-Aid are you drinking over there at MSNBC, Joe, and is it pre-sweetened ... or do you control how much sugar you add to it?

Your question

"How blatantly and criminally stupid these people have to be?"

Criminally - yes.

Stupid? - doubtful.

I don't think these people are stupid (except when you get to the hollywood crowd).  This just shows they have an agenda.

Scarborough's may be a ratings ploy or it may be personal or whatever.  But the overriding MSM agenda is political.  They demonstrate it time and time again.  Facts, truth, reality - none of that matters.  If it furthers their anti-GOP agenda, it gets coverage, if not, it doesn't.

Do you think he has an agenda?

"in 1962 and they brought water hoses down to straighten "us" out"...WOW, I didn't realize Scarborough was 60 years old.

"yet nobody is saying anything to speak of with Bill O'Reilly; he's getting away with it."...'And I am not going to let that happen, damn it!!!!'

Do you think he has an agenda?

Does anyone here recall

Does anyone here recall hearing stories of the police in the South turning water hoses on people who made "racist" remarks?? I always heard that the police used hoses against black people who were trying to vote or enter "whites only" schools and other places.

Joe Scarborough has just

Joe Scarborough has just about completed his 'Greenglass effect' metaporphosis.  I don't miss him, and I have long ago despaired of having entertainment/enlightenment in that time slot.

What continues to surprise me is how MSNBC continues their anti-FOX drumbeat.  Come on guys, when you're ahead of them it is just taunting.  When they are consistently kicking your butts, it is whining.

Following the attempted smear of O'Reilly, MediaMatters

and the rabid left are now going after Rush.  Just as they did with O'Reilly, they've misreported something he said. In this case, Rush discussed a lying anti-war soldier and called him a phony, but they've accused him of broadly "insulting soldiers."

Their Democrat puppy-dogs have picked up on it and have begun renouncing Rush on the floor and in the media.

Stay tuned...there's sure to be more, since the rabid Soros-funded groups have promised to rachet up their attacks.

Oh! It's ON! The LLLMSM

Oh! It's ON!

The LLLMSM and the aiding and abetting democrats (interchangable order) are stepping all over in "it" ...

Some would say, "Don't dignify these smear tactics with responses ..."

No, the full context and truth NEEDS to get out there loudly so that the lazy media viewers see/hear how they are being lead around by the collective noses.

Now, the White House Press Corp has picked up the Rush "story"

Obviously they've accepted it as true, without bothering to check it's accuracy.   (big surprise)

Some news bimbette asked if the White House had any comment on Rush using the phrase "phony soldiers" for military personnel who disagreed with the war.

Yeah, I heard him

Yeah, I heard him yesterday, and I'm listening now ...

Astonishing!  But then, perhaps not so astonishing ...

These reporters are morons.

These reporters are morons. They repeat everything they hear that has a negative cannotation towards a conservative, and never bother to find out it its true or not. Bias? Stupidity? Ignorance? Hopeful? What is it with these people?

Save a SeAL, club a liberal!!

RJ, I think,

RJ,

I think, strategy-wise, they are over playing this method of attack. Too many serial offendees, too quickly

You're being entirely too rational, Chris

This fits exactly into the left's playbook, of inserting concepts into the public's consciousness.  The general public doesn't really pay attention, and these things seep in through repetition.

Look at how many seemingly intelligent people come on here, spouting over and over, the things supposedly said by Rush and others.

Funny how it's always the

Funny how it's always the left yelling "Big Brother" and "censorship".

How much more controlling can they be when they are the ones slicing and dicing stories, and making stories up from "scratch" ... And how it is they who are censoring by pulling a handful of words out of the complete context and shoving it down the public's ear canals as "THIS is what he's saying, folks ..."

drill, I commented

drill,

I commented yesterday about this. It was kind of wedged on the right where the comments get really narrow (know what I mean?) I'll repeat it:

They say that Bush is trying to destroy free speech, without saying how. Yet, it's the political correctness employed by liberal groups using the press as their enforcers that really is chilling free speech. It's the ultimate censorship because it makes people censor themselves

True, I just think that

True, I just think that they may be getting a little too ambitious at the national media level. Right now, The MSM has it's hands full trying to get O'Reilly loaded on the rail to be ridden out of town.

Where did Joe go?

You know when Joe first started this show, it was good, he voiced what I thought were his beliefs.

Obviously the powers to be, did not like it, and threatened either you say what we want you to say or you are fired.

He's still there, so he was not fired. Obviously having a soul is less important than money. This guy has become a creep.

And the fact that Hillary would even do an inteview with him, says a lot.

Can't believe this freaking idiot ever got elected to Congress. No wonder he is no longer serving.

What does MSNBC do, "call all Jerks who want to be anchors, and say come here and apply" because seriously is there anyone on MSNBC who not a complete and utter fool! I think not!

How his family can stand him, is beyond me!

MSNBC slogan "We hate BOR almost as much as GWB.

MSNBC slogan "We hate BOR almost as much as GWB.

What a farce. How many

What a farce. How many years has O'Reilly been on the air? How many years has Rush been on the air?

Wow what a coincidence, Of all the weeks these men have been broadcasting they happen to pick the same week just days apart to show their racist / unpatriotic sides. What a bigger coincidence is that the same George Soros, Hillary liberal front group catches both of these faux paus. The same week Clinton threatens GQ for unfavorable press.

In a way this is good. When at battle one thing you don't want to do is energize your opponent. Something they might have just done.

NOTE TO GE SHAREHOLDERS...

More people are will read this then will have seen what they are reading about. The Morning Schmo has dozens of viewers, not bad if you have a cable access gig. At some point, it will be time to pull the plug on all of NBC's cable news operations. MSNBC has almost no ratings, & CNBC will go down just like CNNfn(their old buisiness channel) once FoxBuisiness rolls out. Cavuto will kick their @$$ & we all know it.

It is time for the shareholders at GE to take care of the news division at NBC once & for all. It can be profitable, Murdoch has proved this. At some point, I would like to think they would be sick of losing money with the news division. Maybe they can afford to, but it leads to a poor product that has little demand, hence their poor ratings.

Scarborough is unwatched,

Scarborough is unwatched, and makes foolish statements to get publicity, just like the Sanchez oaf did at CNN. These dildo-boys don't have any watchers, so they do nasty innuendoes......

When is the right going to actually go after Edwards for his dalliance with an "aspiring actress" named Rielle Hunter. Only Huffington, to its credit, has done any sleuthing. Is the conservative movement just too old or is it simply smug?

How does Joe Scarborough get

How does Joe Scarborough get away with having a show that nobody watches and a dead secretary?
