Yoko Ono, Sean Lennon Sing Anti-Fracking Song on 'Late Night with Jimmy Fallon'

The debate over natural gas extraction continues, but now celebrities are joining the ranks of left-wing environmentalists to try to prevent drilling.

The left claims that hydraulic fracturing, more commonly know as fracking, contaminated the water in Pennsylvania and Colorado, despite University of Texas  at Austin researchers who found “no evidence” of that. Small town support for fracking is rarely talked about in the media.

At a screening of anti-fracking documentary “Gasland” in June, Alec Baldwin even claimed that fracking “causes cancer or can potentially cause cancer to an elevated number of people,” a rumor circulated around far-left sites like Daily Kos and AlterNet.

For some reason, being an actor in Hollywood makes you an environmental expert, and now Beatles legend John Lennon’s own son is joining the fray.

Yoko Ono and Sean Ono Lennon appeared on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” Friday, July 13, and during that interview expressed their opposition to fracking. Lennon said, “I’m not an activist inherently, I’m actually more of an inactivist. I’m an expert in couches and beds. When the companies showed up, it sort of, like, propelled us, it was like a fire under the toosh and we suddenly felt like we had to do something.”

What did he do? Lennon launched a new site called Artists against Fracking.

Artists against Fracking is Hollywood’s latest attempt to be cool and join in with whatever environmental fad is in the news. This website lists 120 actors, musicians, and other celebrities who are against fracking. These artists include Lady Gaga, Alec Baldwin, Deepak Chopra and well-known celebrity environmental nut Leonardo DiCaprio, to name a few. Lennon created this site, wrote a protest song specifically for his interview with Fallon and then launched Artists against Fracking at 9 pm the night of his interview.

After the interview, Ono and Lennon performed their new anti-fracking protest song accompanied by Fallon. As the MRC has outlined before, Jimmy Fallon is no stranger to promoting the liberal agenda. He praised President Obama during a “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” appearance in 2012.

So it was no surprise that he joined in and sang, “People don’t care what they’re fracking today. They’ll frack anything that gets in the way and when they’re done they’ll frack something else. I got one thing to say, go frack yourself.”
